New World

Melanie and Emma along with Patten and Holter returned to the real world leaving their dragons in Narnia, until Aslan would change the world forever - magically moving Narnia into the real world. The four Kings and Queens are faced with ruling a kingdom while also trying to live every day life.

(P.S if you haven't read the previous books read those first, it starts with New Kingdom then New Dawn. Most of the characters are ours, all the others we are just borrowing.)

3. Strange Drive

I woke up around dawn and stretched, yawning, before remembering that Maulduen was here, in the real world. I jumped up and crawled over my sleeping friends before sneaking outside. Maulduen lay there, his body curled around Jura protectively. /Morning!/ I exclaimed through our mental link as Maulduen opened his large eyes.

/Morning little one, I have missed you./ He said softly. I walked over to him and set my forehead against his snout, feeling the peace the dragon brought. I extended my arms to the side, pressing myself closer to him, my heart filled with love. I could have stayed like that forever, but then I had to pee, and didn't feel like wetting myself.

When I came back from the trees, Patten and Holter were already up, as well as Melanie. I walked up to Patten, clicking my tongue as I hugged him. "Good morning, Love," he said smiling.

"Morning." I replied glancing over at Maulduen. /I wanna fly./ I told him, and Patten.

"Well, it is a beautiful day to fly." Patten said and Romnly walked over to us, her size had tripled since we left, now she was almost the same size as Jura. "Lets go." He ran and jumped onto Romnly's back and I smiled before running up Maulduen's wing to stand between his shoulders.

"You four have fun, we should stay here, just in case our friends wake up." Melanie said sitting on a log, Holter sat next to her, nodding in agreement. I gave them a sad smile, wishing they could come along; but as Maulduen flapped his wings, and starting rising from the ground I lifted my head to the skies. We rose higher and higher, the wind licking at my face as we flew above the clouds.

I let out a joyous shout as I climbed up Maulduen's neck to stand upon his forehead, my arms stretched out to my sides. Romnly and Patten flew around us, twisting and turning like water. Patten was hunched over, close to Romnly's back as they gained speed. I marveled at how they moved, working like a unit. /Faster Maulduen!/ I exclaimed, and he obeyed, his head down, into the wind. Then he pushed us faster with the wind, making  us a force to be reckoned with. We were now going probably over 100 miles per hour. I missed this rush.

We probably spent an hour or more just flying, I didn't know where we were, or if we were even in Oklahoma anymore. /We should probably go back./ I said to Patten and Maulduen. I saw Patten nod, and we turned around. Smiling, I ran down Maulduen's neck, past the ginormous spikes and across one of his large wings to the very tip. Then I jumped, the wind pulling at my clothes and hair as I plummeted to the earth. Romnly and Patten shot below me, and I landed on Romnly's back with a grunt.

"What was that for?" Patten asked, gripping onto my arm so I wouldn't fall off. I just laughed.

"I knew you would catch me." I said kissing his cheek, his skin cold from the wind. His white hair was windblown, his ears now were perfectly pointed instead of the human curve. Romnly shot higher into the air, and I kissed Patten's cheek before jumping off of Romnly and landing on Maulduen a few feet below.

We made it back to the camp site and I slid down Maulduen's wing after he landed to find everyone up. I fingered my windblown black hair, trying to get the knots out as I walked toward Tomi. "Did you have fun?" she asked, and I nodded.

"The most fun I've had for awhile." I looked to where Jura and Melanie were standing, nodding I said mentally /Go for a fly with Holter./ she smiled before climbing onto Jura's back. They shot to the sky, soon followed by Julionna and Holter.

"You know, I don't think I will ever get used to how pail you look." Tomi said and I gave her a confused look. "You still scare the crap out of me, and the way you landed made me remember you coming to the ship the first time." she explained and Maulduen huffed.

"Well get used to it, because I don't think this will change." I said pulling on a strand of my hair. Tomi laughed and Hutch came up behind her, wrapping an arm around her waist. "Where are Stephanie and Zach?" I asked looking around the camp site.

"I think Zach is hiding somewhere from the dragons, and Stephanie is trying to find him. It doesn't help that Julionna set his butt on fire earlier, Jura had to make frost to put it out." Hutch said, humor in his eyes.

"Now who would have told her to do that?" I asked and Hutch shrugged giving a cocky grin. Patten came up behind me, taking hold of my hand he nudged me with his shoulder.

"He's behind that far tree, not a very good hiding spot if I can hear him from here." Patten said pointing to a cluster of trees behind us. I balked up at him, amazed that his hearing was that good. "I have my elf senses back." he explained to all of us. I shook my head - even though I was bonded with a dragon, and that made me faster, stronger, and my senses just overall better, the sounds from far away just kinda jumbled together into an inaudible hush in the back ground.

Patten ran his free hand through his hair, his blind eyes seemingly staring off into nothing. I was used to the way it looked, but I could tell others weren't, and we had to force him to wear sunglasses most of the time when we were in public. It wasn't so bad, though I do miss him being able to see it didn't really affect every day life. We still sparred every morning or afternoon, still walked around like a normal couple, the only problem was that in large crowds he couldn't discern the different sounds and he would end up bumping into something or someone. I could tell things would be different now that his hearing was 10 times better than it was before.

"What else can you hear?" Hutch asked, his accent still sounded a bit pirate-y, and I knew that it would probably always be like that.

"The birds, the bugs if I focus hard enough. There is a frog in the lake." He said, focusing on a spot on the ground.

We continued to talk until Melanie and Holter returned from their flight. We started to pack our belongings, having no help from Zach or Stephanie because they were still too scared to do anything with the dragons around.

"The dragons can just stay out in my pastures. The horses won't bother them and my parents rarely come out here anymore." Tomi offered.

"That would be great, it's not far from home and we can visit everyday." Melanie said stroking Jura's muzzle. Jura almost seemed to purr, her blue eyes closed. I pressed my forehead against Maulduen's snout, wanting to stay with him, but knowing we needed to go home.

We piled into our cars and headed back home. Something seemed off, the car ride a little more bumpy than normal. A warm sizzle in the air my the hair on my arms stand up. I tried to ignore it but it grew stronger the closer we got to home. Patten cringed beside me. "You alright?" I touched his shoulder, he flinched against my touch.

"Yeah, the birds just grew really loud." I looked out the window and noticed the hundreds- no, thousands of birds flying overhead. They were all different colors and they were only flying directly above our vehicles. Stephanie looked at the two of us disgusted.

"Whats going on with him?" she asked.

"Elf senses are better than normal senses." I explained.

"But it's more than just that," Patten began, pressing a hand against his temple, "They are following us."

"They?" Stephanie asked, and I gestured toward the birds outside; and I could have sworn I saw a fire falcon flying with them. "Why would they be following us?" she asked.

"They are following the Queens and Kings of Narnia." Tomi said excitedly, and I gave her a warning look. "What, it's really the only explanation."

"Of course it is." Patten said sarcastically.

We arrived at our house, and the birds dispersed. I went to open the door, but ended up crushing the door knob, Stephanie let out a profanity and Patten laughed. "Don't laugh at me," I warned, grabbing his shirt collar and pulling him in close.

"I wouldn't dare," he replied, kissing my nose. Stephanie pretended to gag before prying the door open. I let go of Patten before moving to enter the house, but he jumped in front of me and held the door open, bowing at the waist. "Your Majesty." He said with a cocky smile.
