Crimson Blood

In the modern society where supernatural phenomenons are considered common, humans are divided into three categories:
Practitioner/Magician/Mythical Beings
Practitioners depended on effort.
Magicians depended on talent.
Mythical Beings depend on lineage.
The Crimson Clan had disbanded several years ago and the only one remaining member, Ellis Crimson, lives to this day. How will this supposedly average high school student's life go?

Ellis was happy to announce that the orphanage is going to receive additional funds. He knew that even without winning the competition, if he does his best, he would be able to receive funds at least throughout his high school years. What was waiting for him in the orphanage was multiple ponds of blood that seems to be a result of a battle.

"....." Ellis was completely speechless. He lost his grip on his backpack causing him to drop textbooks on his foot, but he couldn't experience the pain on the foot because what had appeared in front of him was worse.

"Lisa! Alice! Levi! August!" Ellis ran throughout the hallway while calling for their names. He heard a small crying noise in the storage basement. He didn't care about the pile of broken glass in the floors, he stepped over it despite the pain caused by them. On the farthest layer of a basement, he found all twenty children, but with none of them in the right condition.

"Lisa! What happened?" He confirmed the energetic girl's condition. Though she was the least damaged out of the rest, he could clearly see multiple wounds with trace of magic. The wounds weren't severe as the others but her small body would not be able to withstand any farther blood loss.

" a people....called debt collectors....came here," Lisa's energetic tone was gone.

"I told you not to open doors to a stranger," Ellis spoke while applying first-aid to others.

"A person...with a school uniform....came here...telling me...that he was your friend...." She coughed out a handful of blood.

"You can stop talking now," Ellis could only wait until the ambulance comes. The neighbors have already done so and it explained why there was a group of them surrounding the orphanage.

"Am I going to die?" Her lifeless eyes and her pessimistic tone sparked something within Ellis.

"You will live, I promise," Ellis was soon assisted by the hospital workers who took them to the emergency center.

Ellis leaned his head downward and placed his hands on top of his head at a hospital bench. While he was grieving from the event, a familiar footstep could be heard. It was Lena Birmingham's.

"Lena?" Ellis was as lifeless as everyone else.

"I came to tell you about the event," She spoke with hints of guilt.
