Baby Mine

Adelaide Elizabeth Parrilla was born to Lana Maria Parrilla and has an unknown father. Lana didn't want to expose her baby to celebrity life so gave lil Addie up for adoption. When Adelaide was one Lana decided to look for her baby and finds Addie just a few weeks before her third birthday. It was difficult at first but a happy ending is at the end of the tunnel

31. Thanksgiving

Lana’s POV

I pull out the turkey and start scooping out the stuffing into a bowl. Addie, Oliver and Hugo come running in and just stare at me making dinner. Bex comes in with Lizzie on her hip and Jennifer comes in with Liam. I kiss my niece and nephew and let my other two nephews each have a bite of turkey. Addie tugs at my shirt and I turn around to give her a bite of turkey.

“Just think Lana in four months you’ll have your own bundle of joy.”

“Don’t remind me Rebecca. I can’t believe Lizzie’s gotten so big. Liam’s big too. How old are they again?”
“Three months. They were born in September.”

“I knew that. OKAY DINNER’S READY!”

My beautiful family piles around Ginny’s huge dining room table. Marcus goes around and pours everyone drinks. Ginny doesn’t want anything to drink and Josh just grins. Oliver, Hugo and Addie sit down at their kids table and Lizzie and Liam are put between their mamas and papas in their high chairs. Sean stands and makes a toast.

“A toast to my beautiful wife, my beautiful daughter, my beautiful daughter on the way and my best friends and family.”

I stand up and smile.

“I’m not toasting but I do want to go around the table and ask what everyone is thankful for. I’m thankful for my sister Bex, for Ginny and Jennifer my other sisters, for my friends, for my family, for my husband and two little girls. I’m also thankful that in May I got my baby Addie back after three years. I got her back.”

Bex stands up and smiles.

“I’m thankful for my daughter Elizabeth, for my sister Lana, and for family.”

Marcus stands up.

“I’m thankful for family.”

Sean stands up.

“I’m thankful for my wife and two daughters and my family.”

Colin stands up.

“I’m thankful for my wife, my son and my family.”

Jennifer stands up.

“I have a son, I have three sisters, I have three nieces and two nephews. I’m thankful for all of you. You’re my family.”

Josh and Ginny both stand up at the same time. They look at each other and grin. I know something’s going on.

“Josh and I have an announcement…”

“Wait…I want to guess before you say. Ginny you didn’t get a drink and you’re always drinking…”

“Lana what are you saying?”
“Rebecca I’m saying I think our darling Ginny here is pregnant again.”

Ginny smiles and nods her head.

“Josh and I are expecting our third child. I’m three months pregnant. I was pregnant at the salon but I didn’t know. Looks like we’re even sis.”

I stand up and wrap my arms around my best friend. Tears stain her face…if I had known she was pregnant with her third child I wouldn’t have said what I did at the salon. Rebecca grins and says something.

“I guess your son was right when he turned to Josh and said ‘Daddy I want one’”

We all sit down after the happy news and smile. Right before we finish eating I turn to Jennifer and Bex.

“Ginny and I both have three. I guess it’s time to catch up.”

“We both just had a baby. One is enough for both of us.”

“Jennifer I wouldn’t talk about what you don’t know.”

Bex stands up and picks Lizzie up. Marcus wraps his arms around her and I grin. I can’t believe my big sister didn’t tell me. Before she can say anything I ask.

“When are you due?”

“We’re adopting twins. Both are from Cambridge, England. My sister just adopted the twins’ cousin who’s a newborn and we thought cousins should stay cousins because family is important.”

“How old are the twins?”

“They both just turned one three days before Elizabeth and Liam were born. Another thing is my cousin Sophia and my cousin Olivia were both in a car crash. I’m adopting Sophia’s twins and Rachel is adopting Olivia’s newborn daughter who was just born two weeks ago.”

“Bex I’m sorry that your cousins died but your sister finally gets a baby. Why didn’t she take the twins too?”

“I was in the room when Sophia died and she asked me to take her twins. Rachel was pissed at me but then she was asked to take Olivia’s daughter. They’ll be here for Christmas.”

“What are their names?”

“Victoria and Vanessa Kane.”

“That’s funny. I guess I must catch up. My three sisters all have three kids. Colin you better get busy.”

“I know this is thanksgiving and it’s supposed to be a time of joy but Jennifer I have a confession. Yesterday I was at the doctor for a routine check-up and I didn’t tell you. It’s my last thanksgiving because I have stage three lung cancer.”

“Colin why didn’t you tell me?”

“I was waiting to tell the whole family and I didn’t know how to tell you that your husband was going to die.”

“What about chemo?”

“The doctor said that chemo was a long shot and there was a slim chance.”

All of us put our heads down in grief and stopped eating. Colin comforts Jennifer and the children all go play in the playroom. After silence, Jennifer, Ginny, Rebecca and I all wash the dishes. Allison kicks me and I just keep washing the dishes. Bex notices something’s wrong when Allie kicks me and I grimace.

“What’s wrong Lana?”

“Allison. She’s a strong kicker. She’s either gonna be on Broadway or a professional soccer player.”

“I think Addie will be on Broadway because she’s dramatic. I think Allison will play soccer.”

“We’ll have to find out won’t we Jennifer?”

“Yes, Lana we will.”
