No Room for Love

Eli and Brooklyn were everyone's ideal couple. They didn't have it all, but they had each other... until they didn't.

*Present Day*

Brooklyn had just finished her make-up, and was now digging through her jewelry box for her silver tear drop earrings. She was trying to hurry and get ready before Eli arrived. When she found the earrings she ran into the restroom to put them on and readjust some bobby pins in her hair. As she grabbed the last pin to tuck into her hair, she was suddenly startled by the sound of her phone ringing, and dropped a bobby pin down the drain.

"Hello?" She put the phone on speaker.

"Hey baby. I'm right around the corner," Eli answered.

"Okay. I'm almost finished getting ready." Brooklyn grabbed a new bobby pin out of the drawer and stuck it in her hair.

"You should be ready by now. You sound like you're still in the bathroom." Somehow he could always tell what she was doing.

"Oh, don't act like you know me!" Brooklyn laughed between words. "I am ready! I was just waiting on you."

"Ok then, come on out. I'm here."

Brooklyn scolded herself for spending most of her morning in bed reading. She wouldn't have to rush if she had started getting ready earlier, but she just couldn't put the book down. She grabbed the perfume that she knew Eli loved the smell of and sprayed her neck and wrists. Slipping on her black pumps, she grabbed her small clutch off of the side table and walked to the front door. When she opened it, Eli was standing on the porch in a tan suit with a navy neck tie. Brooklyn bit her lip. The man could really wear a suit. He took in her whole appearance: a long beautiful navy dress that showed off her long slender back, hair pinned up into a high bun with a couple of curls hanging beside her ears, and big red lips sat atop a face made-up to perfection.

"" Eli couldn't find the right words to say. Brooklyn stood staring back with a questioning look on her face.

"Wow what?" Brooklyn raised an eyebrow an laughed.

"Brook you look unbelievable. I know we are just singing at a wedding, but man... my girl will look even better than the bride. I'll have to fight every man there!" He touched her chin with his index finger and lifted her head.

Brooklyn smiled and pecked him softly on the lips.

"Mmm... and you smell good, too." Eli pulled her closer, burying his nose into her neck. He must have really been enjoying her scent because he bit her in the same spot.

"Are you a vampire or something?!" Brooklyn patted his arm.

His hands slid down her back and he kissed the spot that he bit. "I can be whatever you want me to be."

"Eli, stop being nasty!" She pushed on his chest and walked around him. "Come on. We are going to be late!"
