5. After School Fight

After school, Jack was waiting at my car with blond Jack. Jack was sitting on the trunk and the boy was leaning next to him. They were waiting for me but I was still mad at Jack from this morning and I was in no mood. “Get off my car, Jack. Leave me alone.” I say just as I past them, heading straight for my door.
Jack stands up, walks along the roof and jumps right in front of me.
    “Hey! Don't just-”
He stopped me mid-sentence and kissed me. “I'm sorry.”
    “No, you're a jerk.” I mumble.
He sighed. “Okay, but I thought-”
I interrupt him now. “Yeah, you thought. That's your problem.” I point to his head with a smile.
“I tell him that all the time.” Blind Jack comes over to us.
Jack chuckled. “Alright, alright. So are we cool?”
I bite the inside of my cheek. “I'm still mad at you.”
He scoffed. “Come on, Liz. Don't start being a bitch.”
I heard blond Jack clear his throat quickly. “Um, I have to go.” he said then ran the other way.
“What? How am I being a bitch?”
“Because you're basically showing me that Mr. Umbel was right.”
“By being mad at me for believing him.”
“Because what he said wasn't true!” I yelled. “Hayes is lying them him, I'm not obsessed with him, I hate him.”
“Yeah, it shows.” he yelled back.
“I'm done with Hayes, I've been done with him and you know that. Now, all of a sudden, he's back and you're taking his side?”
“I'm not taking his side. I'm on yours, of course, I'm just sayin' the way you are being so defensive is hinting otherwise.”
    “Why don't you believe me?”
He sighed again. “Can we not have this conversation here? Can we at least wait until later?” he motioned towards the group of girls that were a few feet away, looking at us.
    “Tell me.”
“No, please.” he reached for my arm.
I pull away. “Don't. Why are you being like this; why don't you believe me?”
“Because I know you still love him!” he yelled.
