Forever Yours

Alana Reyes knows Dominic West is trouble. Even though they were friends when they were little, Lana still doesn't forgive Dom for all the mistakes he's made in his life. They stopped being friends ever since the start of middle school, and they both regret it. Dom became one of the jocks, while Lana stayed true to her friends and didn't change for anyone. What'll happen if they try and work together to sort things out?

1. Befriending Alana... again

Before I was known as one of the most popular guys in school, I was friends with little Alana. The boys in our grade always regarded her as a radiant beauty that lit up the room whenever she walked in. All eyes would turn to her, and she wouldn't notice a thing.

I guess I befriended her when we were in first grade, but stopped being friends with her in sixth. To this day I still don't know why I stopped being friends with her. Let me say this, she's HOT! I've seen guys checking her out, and I can't blame them. Of course she doesn't notice, but everyone else at school does. I swear they do.

I go to her as she's putting books in her locker. "Hey! Alana, right?" She nods, slamming it hard.

"Yeah, that's me. Dom, why are you asking me who I am? You obviously know." She glares at me. "We were best friends in elementary school, but of course, you messed things up. You always do, don't you?"

"I don't know. I was hoping we could catch up, if that's fine with you." She nods her head. "After school. Dee's Coffee, don't forget. Okay?" She laughs her Alana laugh, and I can't help but remember the first time I made her laugh all those years ago.

It was a bright morning in summertime, and Alana's parents were away for the month on a getaway. Alana's parents were pretty good friends with mine at the time, and they still are. Anyway, Alana and I were playing a game of hide and seek, and I was the one who was supposed to find her. Let me remind you, we were probably 7 or 8 at the time, but we had lots of fun.

"Dom, you'll never catch me!" I had just finished counting at this point, and little Alana was hiding who knows where. Little me was determined to find her, and when I did, I realized something. Even though I was only 7 or 8 years old, I knew I liked her.

The thought of girls having 'cooties' never ever occurred to me. It was as if that thought never even existed.

Now everything is different. Lana and I have departed ways, and I can't help think that our friendship was for nothing. I can't believe how stunning she's gotten. She chooses not to draw a lot of attention to herself, but trust me, what she's doing doesn't help her.
