Complete, unadulterated shock. Confusion. Soon it morphed into rage and then sorrow. Aunt Liv had a sister? A twin? And she was like me? But mostly, she died? Like how the women died in my dream. Murdered, heartless, and the killer ate her heart.

I looked at Aunt Liv and reached for her hand. "Oh, aunt Liv." I whispered tears threatened to fall from her eyes and she blinked then away.

"That was forever ago. Your mom knew and when you were born, she could tell you were special. Once you started talking about your dreams, she was scared. So scared, because she didn't want you to end up like Lilly." She took a shaky breath and looked away.

I could tell that this was hard for her. Reliving the past and knowing that her twin had died a gruesome death. "Our family is special, Rayne. We have the blood of supernaturals. Once we turn sixteen a mark will show up behind your neck. The tattoo of a panther is actually what specialties I have. My sister, hers was completely different. Us supernaturals have only one marking. But when she got hers she had two.

"One was an eyes that was open. The next was a word written below it, an ancient language. It spelled seer." She looked out the window then to me. "I won't let you die, I promise you. I won't lose the last family member I have and I will protect you." She told me.

She squeeze my hand and looked so determined. "She had dreams like me, before I turned eighteen?" I asked her.

A tight nod came from her and she looked away. This must be hard, thinking about her twin. "Yes. But not as strong as yours are. Or so detailed." She admitted.

I looked down at the floor and I felt nervous. I had only a few days left until my world will be turned upside down. A few more days until I will never love in the same world I was cocooned in for my full life. These secrets, they were never a problem before. And now I will be forced into a supernatural world.

I won't be human. That thought raced through my head. No longer will I be Rayne, the slightly gifted human. Instead I will me Rayne, the non-human. "There's one more thing I need to tell you." Aunt Liv whispered.

I looked up at her and noticed that she looked so sad. "There can only be one seer in this world. So when one dies, another will be reborn. You are so much more special and rare than anything. And that means there will be people after you who will want to use you. For both good and evil.

"There is this one guy who is hunting down the seer. He will stop at nothing to kill you, just as he did to my sister. So you must be careful and make sure that no one knows about your gift." She warned me.

Already I could feel my heart pick up. I was in danger? Finally, my dreams made sense. I was being warned about this killer, being warned that he was here. Looking for me. "Aunt Liv?" I could barely talk. "My dreams. Whoever is hunting me, he is here."

She nodded, already coming to the conclusion. "Like I said, I will protect you. No matter what, you will live."

There was no doubt in me when she said that. I knew she would protect me, even throw her life away for me to live. She always was like that. She loved me unconditionally and did not hurt me intentionally.
