Him [ A Werewolf Tale ] *Completed*

When I was 13 years old, my entire family committed suicide, by driving full speed off a thirty foot bridge. Morbid, I know. Unfortunately, they deemed themselves unfit to live and ended it the only way they knew how. They had gotten themselves stuck in something deep and dark with a couple of the demons around our neighborhood and their contract was coming due. So at the age of only 13, I was left to fend myself and survive in a world full of vampires, werewolves, and demons.
My name is Claire Summers and my family had once ran one of the most powerful werewolf packs in North America. That is, however, only because of a contract held by a certain grey eyed demon. Since my parents died, I have been shunned. Disowned by everyone and unwanted in every sense. For the first time in my life I was completely and utterly alone. Until I met him

35. Chapter 33 | You Don't Threaten A Luna

Chapter 33
"What do you mean you don't?" I snap, glaring at him, "Alex it's on the fucking floor. It can't just show up."
"Yeah well I didn't think that blood could be absorbed by the fucking ground, but that happened." Alex spits, turning towards the door, "I'm going to security. We have cameras everywhere."
Jogging along behind him to match his long strides, I murmur, "I'm thinking that now would be the time to tell you something because we only have about 4 hours until someone dies."
"No one will die," Alex spats, "I won't let them."
"Well at this point I'm not sure you have control over that...." I trail off.
He spins on his heel and stares me down, "What are you trying to say Claire?"
"That...I don't know if we should be chasing this or trying to figure out who put that there. As far as we know it could be for the best." I mutter, looking away from his haunting gaze.
"For the best, Claire..." he spits, "Are you kidding me right now? Something created a damn devil's trap in my house and put all of us in danger, yet you want to sit back and do nothing about it. Just like what happened back at the fucking hospital wing! You took that so casually! Like it happens every damn weekend! My pack and my girlfriend are in danger and you want to me sit back and do nothing? Are you serious right now?"
"I'm sorry," I mutter, looking at the floor, "I'll make a deal with you, I'll go to the hospital wing and get checked out after these five hours are up, but for right now, Alex I really don't think that we have time to go check cameras. I want to catch this thing as much as you do, but Alex I need to tell you something and it isn't safe to say here."
"Why?" he demands, "What could you possibly have to say to me that can't be said here? In a hallway, where we are alone."
A sigh escapes my lips and I look up at the ceiling, "As far as we know we are alone, but there are plenty of creepy crawlies that could lurking around right now. What I want to tell you is dangerous if anyone else hears, if somebody else hears. I was threatened by someone close to you to keep my mouth shut and they said they would kill me and everyone around me if I told you. The safest place is in that room."
"The room with a devil's trap that randomly appeared in it?" he questions sarcastically, "Yeah, that makes a lot of sense."
I huff angrily, "All I want is to tell you something that you have been asking for a while and you won't let me, Alex."
"I'm not doing this right now." he growls, before turning and storming away from me and down the hall.
I make no move to go after him. I know that it's no use. He doesn't want to deal with me at the moment and I'm definitely not going to make him. I will simply have to go through this alone. Spinning on my heel, I take one last look at the room before sprinting off to the library. I, of course, know the history of the devil's trap, but there are some things that I still cannot figure out. They are most commonly used to immobilize or control a demon.  This is said very lightly, however it is likely that a demon would do anything that you ask them to as long as you...torture them enough. They are known to cut off the demon's access to their powers, but the thing that lessens the value of the trap is their inability to block the stronger demon's from their powers. They can very easily crack the ground the devil's trap lies on as long as they concentrate hard enough.

I quickly make my way through the rows of books, searching for my topic. I grab as many books as I can and head over to the couch that is stationed in the very middle. It's incredible that I never had been in here before. Back when my parents were still alive, I used to never be able to to put a book down, but now...now I can't seem to find the time to read anything anymore. Hell with all the stress that has been going on I haven't been able to even think about reading. Cracking open the first book, I dive head first into the information. I had to get this done fast. By this time I only had around 3 hours and 45 minutes until something bad happens. Skimming through all of the books that I grabbed, I find the information that I need and I scribble a short note to Gina.
Opening the door, I call, "Guard. Take this to Gina in the medical wing. She is with Sebastian. Tell her it is urgent."

He nods immediately, taking the paper from my hand. I have created a plan, one that I must tell Alex about. With a sigh I continue up the stairs and grab the arm of the first person that I see.

"Which way to the security building?" I ask the old woman.
Her eyes grow to the size of saucers and her breathing goes shaky.
"Luna," she mumbles, bowing her head, "I will show you the way."
I smile faintly and follow along behind her, "I hope you don't mind me asking, but how do you know that I'm the Luna?"
"I've been here a long time girly." she smirks, "I've only felt power like that from one other person and that was the Alpha's mother. We aren't stupid here. We've seen you around and we know who you are. We have simply waited for the moment that the Alpha gets his head out of his ass and introduces you to us."
A loud laugh leaves my lips, as I watch her face morph into a look of absolute horror.
"Please don't tell the Alpha I said that." she begs, turning back towards me.
I shake my head, still giggling, "It's completely fine. I mean, after all you are correct. It is about time that Alex introduces me as his mate. But before this conversation goes on any further, we must get to the security building immediately."
She smirks in my direction, before taking off into a dead sprint, "You better keep up if you want to know your way."
My jaw is still laying on the ground as I jog behind her. She was fast for an old woman, much faster than any human could be. It must have been because of the werewolf genes.
Within seconds, we arrive in front of a large brick building in the middle of the forest. Just like every building in Westwood territory, if you weren't looking for it you wouldn't be able to find it. Pushing open the door, the lady smirks back at me and says, "Fast enough for you?"
A laugh escapes my mouth and I nod my head at her in thanks before heading into the building. The guards on the other side of the door immediately pull a fighting stance and I role their eyes at them.
"Relax boys," I huff, "I'm just looking for Alex."
One of them snaps, "It is insulting to call the Alpha by his first name."
Raising an eyebrow at him, I cock my head to the side, "Yeah, I think I'm okay."
The other guard relaxes and breathes, "Max, it's the Luna."
The man, Max, widens his eyes and murmurs, "This is her? Oh my Goddess, please forgive me, Luna. I did not know."
"It's fine," I nod, "Just please lead me to Alex."
Immediately Max frantically nods his head and says, "Right this way,  Luna."
Max leads me through a door on the left and up a winding metal staircase. At the top of the stairs, lies a circuit board full of switches and colorful buttons, surrounded by multiple televisions.
"This is unacceptable!" Alex shouts, slamming his hand down on the table, "There is no way that somebody can get in and out in that short time period and not be seen! How dare you embarrass me like this! I cannot believe that I trusted you with this job, I knew you couldn't do it."
The men in front of him cower back into the wall and the clank of heavy boots on the staircase behind me follow. Alex spins on his heel with a vicious glare set on his face.
"There is no footage." he spits, "These mutts were not good enough at their jobs and missed it."
Crossing my arms over my chest, I mutter, "Show me the footage."
He rolls his eyes and turns to the circuit board. Alex presses a few buttons before a video on the surrounding televisions begins to play. It shows an empty row of cages, cells. Nothing but cells. He speeds it up to a few hours ago. Suddenly, there is a loud screech that can be heard and black mist covers the corners of the tape. My eyes widen and the tape stops as quickly as it had started.
"That's it." Alex snarls, "That's all they got. There is no more footage for that room. The fucking cameras are broken."
I scoff, "And that's their fault? The cameras broke, so fuck them?"
"What are you trying to say, Claire?" he snaps, gritting his teeth.
I sigh, "Alex, you're treating this as if they went in there themselves and broke them. Which they didn't. Whatever made that devil's trap did. We have nothing to go of off, but are you going to ignore the fact that the room used to be a row of cells? The cells aren't even there any more! It's a dead end! A demon dungeon, yet no one seems bat an eye at that!"
The scowl remains on his face and he blows a harsh breathe of air from past his lips, "You wanted to tell me something earlier, said that, that was the safest room to talk. So come on, lets go talk."
I nod my head frantically, before turning to run down the stairs. I can hear Alex's footsteps behind mine and for whatever reason this makes me move quicker.
"Before we go there, I need to make a pit stop." I tell him, once we reach the bottom of the staircase.
"What type of pit stop?" he spits, "Aren't we supposed to be working off of time here?"
"Yes, Alex." I huff, "But trust me here, It's mandatory!"
He looks down at his watch and sighs, "3 hours 20 minutes and counting."
I nod, running off to the hospital wing. I quickly make it to Sebastian's room.
Alex huffs behind me, "You had to visit my brother before you could talk to me?"
"Please be quiet." I beg, as I push open the door.
Peeking my head through, I make eye contact with Gina.
"Do you have it?" I ask her and she quickly nods her head.
"Be careful," she warns, "Do not let it stick you."
I take the syringe from her hand and give her a sharp nod.
"Promise me, Claire," she demands, "You will end this."
"Yes, mam." I assure her, before leaving the room.
Alex looks down at me, "What is that?"
"You will see." I mutter and stick the syringe into my pocket.
We begin out journey to the dungeon, all the while, my hand is glued in my pocket ensuring that the needle is no where near my leg. In no time, we are standing outside the large oak door. I am staring up at it in uncertainty, until Alex pushes past me and takes the key from my palm. He easily unlocks the door and pushes it open.
"I must tell you something that no one else can know." I tell him, "It is about Wren."
"Come on," he says, gesturing into the room, "Tell me then."
I step into the room, avoiding the red circle in the middle like the plague. I want to be no where near it when he shows up.
"What about my daughter?" Alex questions, crossing his arms.
He is standing in the middle of the devil's trap and I quickly pull him away.
"Don't stand there." I demand.
Looking up at the ceiling I see another one to our right, above the door. My heart begins to pound and my breathing becomes shaky.
"Claire?" Alex questions, "Are you okay? What's going on?"
"U-um..." I stutter, "Someone...threatened me. They said that they would kill you if I didn't kill Wren."
"Who?" Alex demands, narrowing his eyes.
"I-I don't...." I clear my throat, "I don't want to tell you that. I know you'll go after him and that will only make it worse for the both of us. He's stronger than you."
"Bullshit!" Alex barks, "No one is stronger than me!"
"Alex, this is something you've never faced before! You don't know that!" I screech, "He could kill you!"
"No one will kill me." Alex snaps, "I am the Alpha king. Stronger than all. Superior to all."
"It's wonderful that you have that confidence right now, but I don't need it." I snap, "I need you to simply take my comment and treasure it. Keep your daughter safe. I will take care of the rest."
"You want me to stand back as you go confront this person, whoever they are, and let you be torn to shreds?" Alex questions, "If this person is stronger than me, and that is a very large if, then they will demolish you."
I clear my throat again and shake my head, "I can handle it."
He goes silent for a second, "Were you going to do it? Kill my daughter?"
"No, of course not!" I screech, taking a step back, "I would never harm that child and you know it!!"
"Then why are you trying to hide his identity?!" Alex yells, "Dammit, Claire! Tell me who it is!"
An eerie laugh echoes around the room. We both turn to see Simon standing at the door.
"It's me." the demon chuckles.
"Simon?" Alex asks, taking a step forwards, but I quickly clutch onto his arm yanking him back.
He gives me a look of confusion.

"You think you're so clever, Claire, don't you?" Simon snickers, "That just because there's...that...in the room, I can't hear what you're saying. That I can't come in here and finish the job?"
Alex looks back at me again, "What is he talking about?"
"Hell," Simon laughs, "It's in the middle of the room! As long as I don't step on that red circle I am free to do anything I like."
"You know," I smirk, "Before you say that, you may just want to...look up."
Simon slowly raises his head and glares at the ceiling.
"Oh dear," Simon mutters, "It appears I am stuck."
His eyes flash black and I quickly lunge forward, stabbing the syringe into Simon's chest. He lets out a haunting scream and falls to the floor.
"Claire!" Alex screams in shock, "What the hell?!"
I turn back towards Alex, and say, "He was a demon. I know you saw his eyes."
"My beta?" he mutters, "You knew this?"
I nod my head, looking at the ground.
"And you didn't think that it was important to tell me that my beta was possessed by a fucking demon?!" he shouts, throwing up his hands.
"I'm sorry," I mumble, "He said that he would hurt you.."
"I can beat him. I've beaten Simon many times. He's weaker than me." he brushes off.
"But the demon isn't, Alex." I yelp, "That is what I'm trying to tell you! He could easily kill you! He's the one that threatened to kill someone in 5 hours."
He sighs harshly looking down at his body. Simon wasn't dead, far from it actually.
"What was in the syringe?" he asks.
"Dead man's blood," I answer, "The quickest way to take down even the strongest demon, but it only acts as a sedative. Which is why it would be very beneficial to get him into a chair and tied down before we continue talking."
His eyes widen and he jogs to the door avoiding Simon's body.
"Guards! Get me the chair and chains! Now!" he shouts, causing the guards to jump in fear.
10 minutes later, Simon is tied to a steel chair and anchored to the floor with steel chains. It is positioned firmly in the devil's trap. He may be a demon, but the demon will still suffer because of his host.
After all the guards leave the room, Alex turns towards me, "Now. Tell me how you did it."
Sighing deeply, I explain, "After he threatened me for the first time, I started researching ways that I could take him down. I didn't want to do anything that he said. At first he threatened me with killing Stephanie and when I didn't do it he took control of you and forced you to do it for me. Then he came back and he made me vow to kill Wren and that was when I knew that I had to take him down soon or else she would die. Then after Gina discovered who he was he threatened to kill someone in five hours. I had already discovered by that time that the only thing that would take him down would be a devil's trap. Next thing I know, I'm coughing up a key and I'm drawn to this door. Here's my devil's trap. I needed to find a way to get him here, so I tried to convince you to talk to me about this then. But you wouldn't have it until you checked your tape, so in that time, I went and researched. The one thing that I couldn't understand was how you keep a powerful demon in the circle without it using its powers to break it. It wasn't long until I discovered that dead man's blood was the only way that I would ever be able to keep him in that circle. So I sent a little note to Gina because she was only person that knew about it and the only one I thought would actually have it. Luckily, she did and that was what was in the syringe. I planned to bring you here, make a comment out of the room and then come in and explain it. I hoped he would follow us in and I figured that he was going to. That's why I didn't want you standing in the trap. That's why I stabbed him."
"You said that he...possessed me?" Alex questions, raising an eyebrow.
"No," I shake my head, "Not possessed, just controlled. Only the strongest demons have the power to do that."
He makes no move to respond and looks over at Simon.
"I didn't even notice." he mumbles, "How long has he been...like this?"
"I don't know an exact time frame," I answer, "All I know is that he hasn't been Simon for a very long time."
He stares at me for a few more seconds before whispering, "You're going to make a wonderful Luna. I'll take care of this. Get some of my strongest warriors and have them watch him while we go and speak with Gina."
I nod my head as a small smile forms on my face. Alex spins on his heel and leaves the room. Following after him quickly, his words ring in my head, 'You're going to make a wonderful Luna..."
