Him [ A Werewolf Tale ] *Completed*

When I was 13 years old, my entire family committed suicide, by driving full speed off a thirty foot bridge. Morbid, I know. Unfortunately, they deemed themselves unfit to live and ended it the only way they knew how. They had gotten themselves stuck in something deep and dark with a couple of the demons around our neighborhood and their contract was coming due. So at the age of only 13, I was left to fend myself and survive in a world full of vampires, werewolves, and demons.
My name is Claire Summers and my family had once ran one of the most powerful werewolf packs in North America. That is, however, only because of a contract held by a certain grey eyed demon. Since my parents died, I have been shunned. Disowned by everyone and unwanted in every sense. For the first time in my life I was completely and utterly alone. Until I met him

33. Chapter 31 | Tootles, My Dear

Chapter 31

'Did I hear her correctly?' I think to myself.
"Claire, are you listening?" Katherine's mom snaps, "You must not look into this. It is a lot more dangerous than any one here can handle. And most importantly, you can not tell the Alpha. If you do he will be determined to find and kill this monster. It is stronger than him, Claire. Hell, stronger than me and I've been around for nearly 2,000 years."
"2,000 years?" I gasp, "How could you survive that long?"
"Out of all the words I just said, that is the thing that you choose to focus on?" she sighs, shaking her head, "Goddess, children these days."
"I'm sorry, mam. I just don't know how to process it." I apologize, "There is just a lot going through my head right now."
"And I understand that, Claire, but this is not something that you take lightly. This is a danger to all. This is the thing that Katherine was trying to warn us about. It is life or death." she explains, putting a hand on my shoulder.

I look down at the ground in worry, "What do we do if they come back?"
"Nothing!" she nearly shouts, "Claire, that is the thing that I am trying to get you to understand! There is nothing that you can do! These things will kill you, the whole lot of you! If you find them, hell even if you think that you are in danger, you run! There is no time to think about this because you can't beat Lucifer, no one can!"
"So that's it then? I'm supposed to leave everything behind? My pack, my mate, my family?" I snap, staring at her incredulously.
"Claire, you take the ones who are closest to you and you run!" she yells.
"Alex won't go! He won't leave without a reason and you're right when you say that he'll want to stay and fight!" I protest, throwing my hands up, "What do you expect me to do?"

"You will just have to leave him then, Claire!" she responds, raising an eyebrow.
"Leave my mate?! Are you crazy?! You and I both know that I cannot live without him!" I shout, "It is my death either way!"
"You must not be weak like other wolves and conform your life for your mate, Claire! You can do so much better than that! I have only talked to you for a few minutes, but I can tell that you are a powerful Luna. You are a leader Claire!" she scolds, "If you stay here then you will die!"
I look at her in disbelief, "Then so be it! I will not leave my mate! My other half! Not only will I not be able to live without him, I will not be anything! I will not have a title! Just like you said not even ten minutes ago, I am nothing but an Omega! This powerful Luna that you speak of is not possible unless I have him and you know that! I cannot and will not live without Alex!!"
A tiny smirk appears on her face as she glances behind me.
"Glad to hear that." Alex murmurs, taking my hand.
I gasp ripping my hand away from him, "How much of that did you hear?!"
"All of it." he smirks, "About me anyway."
"Oh god." I groan, dropping my head forward onto his chest.
"Come on," he whispers, "Sebastian's awake."
I perk up at that news and look excitedly up at him, "Is he doing okay?"
Alex opens his mouth to respond, but Katherine's mother interrupts him, "Sebastian Westwood?"
"Yes." I answer, "He was Katherine's mate."
"Yes," she murmurs, "I remember him. What has happened?"
Alex cuts me off and answers, "We do not know, but, frankly, I do not think that it is any of your business."
"Any of my business?!" Katherine's mother screeches, "Of course it is!! He is the only thing that I have left of my daughter!"
"Like you care!" he snaps, "When they found each other, you could not wait to force her to reject him!"
"That was not my proudest moment, I can admit that!" she spits, "But he is still my son-in-law! Whether he was rejected or not! My daughter still loved him! Take me to him!"
Alex lets out a low growl, "You will step no where near my brother!"
I place a hand on his elbow causing Alex to look down at me sharply, "What are you doing?"
"Let her come." I say gently, "She's been through a lot. What she has done in the past doesn't matter if you live in the present. Give her a second chance and lets go see Seb."
Alex remains staring at me for a few minutes, until finally he closes his eyes and lets out a long sigh, "What are you doing to me, woman?"
I smile slightly and he mumbles, "Lets go see, Sebastian."
Katherine's mom follows along behind us, so I miss the small smile that passes on her lips.
With long strides, we quickly reach the hospital wing. Pushing open the wide door, Alex latches onto my hand tightly. Looking over at him, I make a mental note to talk to him once we reach the room. We move to stand in front of a large door with the number 5 on it. Huffing to myself, I wonder if Alex was aware of the irony. The number 5 is normally associated with sinful items or actions, so it is very ironic for this to occur in the wake of the new information I just absorbed.
Alex turns towards us and drops my hand as if it is toxic, "He is in this room. I have some work that I must attend to. You two may stay as long as you like."
He gives us a nod before turning back down the hall.
"Alex, we need to talk!" I yelp, before mumbling, "Mam, you can go on ahead."
She gives me a wide smile and shakes her head, "It's Gina, honey. We're family now."
A grin pulls at my lips as she finishes her sentence, "Thank you! Go on in, Gina."
As soon as the door clicks shut, Alex mutters, "As much I would love to stay and chat, I really do have to get back to work."
"Be quiet. You can talk for five damn minutes." I huff, rolling my eyes.
It was a bad move on my part since he cocks his head to the side and his eyes go dark.
"Care to rephrase that darling?" he growls, steeping towards me.
With a sigh I mutter, "I'm sorry, but just please give me five minutes to talk and then you can go back to work."
His eyes shift back to their normal soulless brown and he says, "Fine. Talk."
"I just wanted to make sure that you were okay." I mumble, "You were very tense when we got here."
He rolls his eyes with a shake of the head, "It just isn't my favorite part of the house."
"Okay, but why?" I question, scrunching my eyebrows together.
He lets out a harsh sigh and snaps, "That is none of your business."
"I think it is, Alex. You're my mate!" I argue.
"That's true. You may be my mate, but you don't need to know my entire fucking life story!" he growls, walking away from me.
"Oh my Goddess! Do you hear yourself right now?" I spit, "You are being ridiculous!"
"I'm not being ridiculous, Claire. I'm being logical." he snarls, "You need to stop asking questions and keep your nose in your own damn business."
"You are my business, Alex!" I yell, "Anything and everything that you do is my business. That's what life partners do. Share each and every part of themselves with each other!"
"Are you serious?" he scoffs, "Just because you're my mate, I'm supposed to just tell you everything?"
"That's kind of the point!" I shout, throwing up my hands, "A good relationship has no secrets, Alex. And if you want this to work....us to work then you're going to have to start telling me things. No matter how damn personal you think that they are. I am your mate. Your Luna. I am supposed to know everything about you and right now you've given me access to almost no part of your life! How do you think that makes me feel, Alex? That my own mate doesn't trust me enough to tell me things about him. I'm not allowed to know anything about you! You hide everything about yourself from me and I'm sick of it! I don't even know the littlest things! Goddess, I don't even have an idea of what your favorite color is, much less why you don't like coming to hospital wing. I'm not asking you to tell me your entire life story, at least not right now! Just tell me something, please Alex. If you want this to work then I need you to tell me things. I don't know how much longer I can stand to live in the dark. Do you want to lose me, Alex?"
By the time I finish with my rant, tears litter my eyes and my chest heaves up and down from lost breath. There is an unreadable expression on his face and he lets out a little sigh.
"No." he mumbles, shaking his head.
This fuels my anger even more and I begin to shout, "Then I'm done!-"
"I don't want to lose you." he cuts me off, "It just brings back bad memories of my parents and of what I did to you when we first met. I'm sorry, but I hope that's enough because I don't have it in me right now to tell you the rest."
A small smile appears on my lips and I nod my head, "I understand."
He leans down and places a small kiss against my lips and murmurs, "I really do have to get to work now though."
I nod again and turn towards the door, placing my hand on the door knob.
Just as I am about to open the door, Alex says, "Blue."
"What?" I ask, turning back towards him.
"My favorite color...It's blue." he smirks, before turning and bounding down the stairs.
A smile graces my lips as I push open the door. Seb is sitting up in bed as I enter and he raises his hand in a half wave. His eyes focus on something behind me and a look of fear engulfs them.
"Oh god no." he mutters, putting his head in his hands, "It's happening again."
"Seb?" I question just as Katherine's says, "Sebastian?"
He is shaking his head back and forth frantically, repeating, "Why can I see her? Why can I see her?"
My eyes widen and my mind falls into panic, "G-Gina, what's happening?"
"Sebastian!" she calls, taking a hold of his shoulders, "Who can you see?"
Sobs begin to spill out of his mouth as he rocks back and forth on the bed.
"Who can you see, Sebastian?!" Gina screams, shaking his shoulders.
"Katherine!" he cries, taking a pillow and placing his head into it.
"You can see Katherine?" she asks, he sobs harder into the pillow and does not answer her, "Boy, answer me!"
"Yes!" he sobs, slapping his hands over his eyes.
"Gina, what's happening?!" I screech backing into the wall opposite.
She looks over at me with wide eyes and asks, "Why is he in the hospital?"
"U-um.." I stutter, "He fell and started having a seizure. We couldn't control him and he wasn't coherent after the seizure ended."
"O-oh g-god.." she groans, her jaw has dropped to the floor, and she collapses back into the chair.
"Gina?" I ask desperately, "What's wrong with him? Do you know?"
"Claire...I think you should sit down." she suggests, nodding to the chair across the room.
Shaking my head defiantly, I spit, "I'm fine. What is it?"
"Claire..." she sighs, "It appears that your friend, Sebastian, is in transition."
"Transition?" I gasp, "To what? A vampire? How is that possible?"
"No..nothing like that." she huffs, "He's transitioning...to become the anchor...The anchor to the other side."
My eyes widen and without any warning everything falls black.

"Wake up, sleeping beauty." someone sings.
Peeling open my eyes, I groan as the bright light shines directly into my eyes. Slowly, my eyesight returns back to me and the light dims. Looking around, I spot Simon leaning against the bars of the cell.
"Do we have to do this every time? If you must talk to me can't you just come find me?" I grunt, sitting up.
"Claire," he sighs mockingly, shaking his head, "Now where is the fun in that?"
Rolling my eyes, I stare at him expectantly, "What would you like to threaten me with today?"
"Oh, now now Claire, you know I don't threaten you. It's against bosses orders!" he smirks, "Matter a fact I have a message from him, he says that he can't wait to have you in his arms. His bride."
"Bride?" I scoff, "Look I have no idea who the hell your boss is, but he is terribly mistaken."
"Oo, don't let him hear you say that, he'll get angry and no one likes when boss gets angry. I believe those humans have a saying or two about it. What was it, hell hath fury like a devil's scorn?" he chuckles.
"It's woman's scorn." I spit.
"Hmm, more or less. It's the same thing." he waves his hand, "Anyway on to more tempting news. A little birdy has told me that my cover was blown."
Narrowing my eyes at him, I raise in eyebrow in a challenge.
Simon lets out another chuckle, "You see, I don't like people knowing who I am."
"I'm not following." I spat.
"That bitch of witch decided to rat me out now did she? Well..." he lets out a loud laugh, "Like I said, I don't like people knowing who I am, so...I'll take care of it."
"Take care of it?" I growl.
"Well done, my dear." he smirks, "Another one of your friends will be dead in....say five hours. Do as I asked and everything will go away. Until then however, I should probably let you say your goodbyes. Tootles, my dear."
