10. Making Plans

*A Couple Hours Later*

“So, there’s a ton of places we can go,” Victoria says. “But we only have so much time after all of us are done with our classes. So I say we limit where we go.”

“And we have to go to Nando’s,” Daisy smirks. “Get Rose here at least buzzed.”

I laugh, “You are going to give me alcohol?”

“Oh yeah, you’re old enough over here,” Daisy smiles. “And it’s our day off the next day, so we have nothing to worry about.”

I sigh, “Alright. What about stores? Where are we going to shop?”

“I think we should go to a bookstore,” Laurel says.

“That sounds nice,” I smile. “I’d love to get some new books.”

“We also have to go to a clothing store of some sort,” Victoria says. “I need a few new shirts.”

“I’ve been needing some new shoes, so we have to go to a shoe place,” Daisy says. “So bookstore, clothes store, shoe store. Rose, where do you want to go?”

“Um,” I shrug. “I don’t know. I guess if there’s an accessories store, we could go there.”

          “That sounds good,” Laurel says.

“Alright, it’s all settled then,” Daisy claps her hands together. “Now, just to hang out. Learn more about each other. Rose!”

          “Hm?” I smile.

“Tell us a little bit about yourself.”

“Oh, okay. Well, I have a younger sister. She will be turning sixteen in a few months. Um, my mom has been the strongest women I will even know. Uh, I’ve always wanted a pet, but we could never have one because we were barely home to take care of one. My sister is really into gymnastics, so she trains a lot for that. And my mom has to work more than just her main job to make sure my sister and I had somewhat normal lives. That’s really it.”

“What about your father?” Victoria asks.

“Well, he died in a car crash after being hit by a drunk driver. He was driving home after a late day at the office.”

“No, what was he like?” Laurel chuckles.

“Oh, well, he was a very happy man. He wanted the best for my sister and me since he didn’t have a great time growing up. He started a college fund the day we were born. He always wanted us to chase our dreams. It’s not a surprise that the last thing he ever said to me was what I now have tattooed on my arm. What about you guys?”

“I have an older brother,” Victoria quickly speaks up. “And my mother and father have always given both of us equal opportunity to pursue whatever we want. I guess my childhood was normal in the small neighborhood I lived at. That’s really it. We traveled a lot on breaks, but nothing interesting.”

“My parents split before I was even born,” Daisy says. “But my stepdad is awesome and my half-brother and sister love me as if I’m full blood. As well as my two older step-brothers. I was told to pick something that I knew I’d love to do for the rest of my life. And now I’m here.”

“My mom and dad had so many kids it was hard to get to know us all,” Laurel is cautious as she talks. “But our nanny was always there for us. My parents worked so hard they were barely home. But once I started acting, they took notice of me, making my siblings angry. I made sure they put some attention to them as well. Now I’m here to try and make a name of myself, and I intend to do so.”

“We are all so interesting,” I look around at everyone in awe. “I think we will be able to help each other in our mission to become great at what we do. And become great friends on the way.”
