*Some Hours Later*

“Sorry I’m late,” I sigh as I toss my backpack onto the floor of Ashton’s car. “Victoria and I wanted to talk to the teacher once the class was over,” I slide into the passenger seat. “It’s better to ask questions than be confused and fail a test,” I giggle before shutting the door.

“Whatever,” Ashton says before speeding away.

“What’s wrong? Why are you all pissed off?”

“None of your business,” he almost growls.

“Well, excuse me for trying to be nice now, and like, help you. Jackass,” I pull my phone out and bring up a random game.

Ashton lets out a big sigh, “I’m sorry love. It’s been a bad day. I didn’t mean to let that out on you.”

“What happened?” I click my phone off and place it on my lap.

“So much bullshit. People are so stupid. One job, they’ve got one job. And I have to tell them every fucking thing to do. They are like babies who can’t do a single thing. It irritates me.”

“I’m sorry. You can count on me to do stuff right. And when you tell me.”

He slightly smiles, “That’s great love. Do you have enough homework or stuff to do so I can discuss with my friend?”

I nod, “Yeah. If I get hungry though, not my fault if I go to the kitchen to get something.”

He laughs, “That’s alright Rose, just as long as you don’t interrupt us.”

“I make the smallest of promises for that.”

A few minutes later we’ve made it home, and I head straight to my room, getting right to my homework. I place my headphones on, blasting a playlist I made just for doing homework.

It’s about an hour or so later before I hear my stomach growl and I have to exit my room to get some food.

“Hello love,” Ashton smiles as I enter the living room. The only path to the kitchen from my room is through the living room. “You hungry?” He leans back on the couch to see me better. His friend sitting on the other end turns to look at me.

I smile, “Just a tad. Who’s your friend?”

“I’m Luke,” the boy smiles. “You can call me Lucas, if you want, it is my full name. Ash told me you call him jackass, and I don’t want a nickname like that.”

          I laugh, “Alright then, Lucas.”

Luke has blonde hair that reaches for the sky, bright blue eyes, and a lip rig. His shoulders are quite broad, and he seems quite tall even sitting down. “What’s your name?”

“Rose Faith. But I like it if people just call me Rose,” I giggle. “Jackass here told you he had a girl living with him, but not her name?”

          “He’s a bit of a dimwit sometimes.”

“So, are you a friend from the bank or the drub business?”

Luke looks over at Ashton who just shrugs.

“I had to tell her mate,” Ashton smiles.

Luke looks back at me, “Drug business.”

“How old are you?” I ask.

          “Almost nineteen.”

“Same,” I smile. “And already in the drug business. That’s crazy.”

          “Thanks to you, jackass.”

          The boys laugh.

“Go get your food and go back to your room, love,” Ashton says. “We are almost done. I’ll have dinner started soon, and you can help this night as soon as we are done.”

I roll my eyes, “Fine. That doesn’t sound too awful.”

“She’s full of sass, Ashton,” Luke says. “How do you deal with it?”

“Well, look at her,” Ashton smiles. “How could I leave such a pretty face out in the city to be hurt by the other guys?”

“I guess you’ve got a point there,” Luke smiles as he really looks at me.

“Well, I’ll go get my snacks and then head back to my room,” I nod. “It was nice meeting you Luke. It would be a pleasure to get to know you soon.” Then I head off, the last thing I hear from the living room comes from Luke, and makes me feel strange.

“She’s very pretty, mate. You two would be great together. Maybe she’ll come around and like you one day.”

Another boy has been introduced, and everything is getting along. Rose is warming up to Ashton, even if it is super slow. Hope you liked it! :D
