42. Love is Made

*Thirty Minutes Later*

“Ashton, I,” I stop myself from saying anymore, because I don’t even know what to say.

When we got home, we went to the living room and sat down on the couch. Opposite side, that is. I’m not snuggle into his side like I want to be.

Ashton’s jaw is set as he is still pissed off for some reason. His eyes haven’t left the TV which is playing some movie I’ve seen many times before. His arms are crossed over his chest, and he hasn’t spoken since we got home. I don’t know what could still be wrong.

“What did I do?” My voice comes out so softly, that I’m not ever sure I even said anything.

“It wasn’t you, lovely,” his voice is deep, and I know his eyes are dark. I’ve seen him pissed, but this this going away. Was he really that jealous and worried about me.

          “Then what wrong?”

Ashton’s mouth twitches as if he wants to smile, but it goes right back to a straight line in seconds. “I just need to, relax.” He lets out a deep breath. “I wouldn’t want to hurt you, or scare you.”

I smile, “That’s sweet, babe.” I stretch out and then get on all fours facing Ashton. “But why are you so angry?” I slowly start crawling to him.

          “I’m not angry.”

“Sure, sure. Now, please, tell the truth.”

He sighs, “I don’t like when guys look at you like a piece of meat they can just take. You’re my girlfriend, and I really don’t like it when they touch you. I’m the only one who can touch you. The only one.”

I teach Ashton and climb onto his lap, gently grabbing his face so I can look into his eyes. “I know that, babe. But we aren’t there anymore. We are home, so please, smile. I want to see your dimples. I want you to kiss me.”

He smiles and his eyes lighten up, “You’re right. We are home now. I can do whatever I want and those guys can be forgotten.”

I lean in so our lips are almost touching, “That’s good, jackass.”

“Are you sure you want to go all the way, lovely?” His hands run down my side, and then go to my back. I can feel him toy with the zipper of my dress.

“I’m sure, Ashton. I have never felt so, comfortable, with a person before in my life. You understand me? You make me feel whole. I love you,” I peck his lips.

“I love you too,” he connects our lips and doesn’t pull back.

We make out for a few minutes before he stands up, holding me close, and starts walking.

I pull away and rest my forehead on his as I take some breaths. “Where are we going?”

He smirks, “To my room. So I can get you out of this sexy, red dress and see the beautiful girl beneath.”

I feel my cheeks heat up and nuzzle my face into his shoulder, “You’re too sweet, Ashton.”

We make it to his room and the next part is a blur. Not because it happened so fast, in fact, it was slow and sweet. No, it’s a blur because it’s the best time of my life up until then, and I can’t wrap my head around it. People say your first time is supposed to hurt and not be fun and things like that. It’s was all lies for me.

“Ashton,” my breathing is still labored.

“Yes lovely?” He asks, breathing slightly better than me.

I snuggle into his side and his arm goes around my shoulders to bring me closer. “Thank you.”

          He laughs, “For what?”

          “Just, everything.”

          “You’re welcome then, lovely.”

          “Where does this leave us?”

“Well, I’m still going to call you my girlfriend, and I’m going to have to figure out when to ask you to marry me.”

“Not for a couple of years,” I smile and feel my heart pace quicken.

          “The second you graduate.”

          I roll my eyes, “Whatever.”

          “I will marry you, lovely.”

I close my eyes, “I’d like that. To be married to you. I would really like that. Graduation can’t come soon enough.”

“Me too,” Ashton’s lips connect with my temple for a few seconds. “I love you, Rose.”

          “I love you too, jackass.”
