13. Life Plan Change

*Sometime Later*

I come to with the softest blanket wrapped around me and my head on a fluffy pillow. Somehow, I’ve ended up on a couch, and there is a hot pain on my left side.

I blink my eyes open and look around the room. It’s not my living room, and it’s starting to freak me out. I slowly sit up and notice that I’m wearing a baggy shirt that isn’t mine. My hand goes to my side to feel a bandage on it.

Looking around I notice how nice the room is. Big and holding a lot of expensive things.

“Ah, you’re awake,” the Australia man’s voice fills my ears, and I look over to see a young man holding a tray with some breakfast food on it. He’s wearing a ripped band shirt, skinny jeans, and his dirty blond hair is curly and all over the place. His smile seems to light up the room, and his dimples are so attractive. “How are you feeling?”

“Um, my side is sore, but otherwise I’m alright,” I sit up a little more, making sure to keep myself covered with the blanket. “Did you save me?”

He sits down on the other end of the couch and hands me the tray of food. “I did. I’ve been after those assholes for a long time. They gave me a reason to hurt them. I could never see a pretty face like you be hurt by assholes like them. You can eat,” he motions to the tray. “You should eat.”

“Well, thank you. For saving me and making me breakfast. That was very sweet of you,” I shyly smile. “I’m Rose Faith, by the way.”

“I’m Ashton,” he smiles as I take a bite of cereal and bacon.

“Nice to meet you Ashton,” I wash down my food with orange juice. “Wait, what happened to my shirt? Did you take my bra off!? You sick bastard!”

He laughs, “I would never take a girl’s bra off without her permission. I had to take your shirt off to check your stab wound, though, and then in the process I got your bra off. But I swear, I saw nothing.”

“Oh, alright. Did you get all my stuff? I had a few bags.”

          “I did. They’re in a spare room.”

“Well, thank you. For everything. But after I finish this cute and delicious breakfast, I should get going. I’ve got to get home and do some college homework. Then text or Skype my sister.”

He laughs and again, and his laugh is one that can fill a room. I’m kind of drawn to it. “You can’t go home. Those guys are after you now. They are looking for you and when they find you, I’m not gonna be there to save you. It was luck this last time. They have a mission. That mission is to kill you because you know too much.”

“Like hell. I know nothing! All I know is those guys said I owed them money and I’ve never seen them before. In my life! Besides, I’m not moving in with a guy whom I just met. That’s crazy!” I’m a bit pissed now. To make sure I don’t throw what’s on the tray at the man in front of me, so I place it on the coffee table. “How old are you anyways?”

“I’m just over twenty. And if you want to live past, what are you? Nineteen? Then you need to live with me. It’s not a you can if you want. It’s a demand,” his tone of voice has become stern.

“Fuck off. You can’t save me and then boss me around! I’m here trying to get a college degree and live my life. By myself. Then you come it. Thinking you’re all cool, and giving me breakfast. Think you would win me over? Well, think again boy.”

“It was worth a shot. Listen Rose,” Ashton takes a deep breath. “This is for your own good. I don’t want to turn on the news one day and see you’ve been killed. I just want to protect you. You must understand that, don’t you?”

“You are such a jackass,” I almost growl. “I understand though, I guess.” I bite my bottom lip and stare at the stranger who saved me. “Ugh, I hate you so much.”

“Aw, come on love, I know that can’t be true.”

“Right now, that’s what I feel. I guess, if what you say is really true, I’ll move in. You have to pay me back for what I’ve already paid my landlord for the first few months. Then, you’ll help me pack up and bring my stuff over here. Don’t think I’m going to be nice to you. You are a jackass to me right now. Do one good deed won’t let you get me. Not true at all.”

“I never said I wanted you, love,” he shrugs. “But I do intend to get to know you. Even if you’re pissed at me. And you can get to know me. Maybe you’ll change your mind about me. Also,” he leans back into the couch. “Saving your life was a godsend for you, not just some random good deed. You were over the moon when I first came in here, and now your attitude has taken a turn.”

I scowl, “Well, that was before you forced me to move in here. And don’t count on that happy-go-lucky attitude for a while. You’ve pissed me off for the foreseeable future.”

“You’ll come around,” he smirks. “Now, finish your breakfast,” he stands up. “We have a lovely lady to move from a small place to my spacious home.”

“Oh shut up,” I roll my eyes.

Well, the hero has been revealed, and I hope you are excited for his chemistry with Rose. I just hope you are excited for all that is coming next! :D
