“Would Bellway be prepared to negotiate the price of the property?’

“I can ring them now for you sir if you would give me a second.’

The man rang a number from the phone on his desk and then waited for a reply.’

Hello James this is Michael from Langton’s Estate Agency; I have a party interested in a property at Abbots Way.

The show house.’ yes that’s the one; well the party want to know if you could come down on price?’

“Yes its one hundred and twenty thousand at the moment.’

“Okay James I will ask them hold on.’

They could do one hundred and eighteen.’

“Look Michael how about one hundred and fifteen thousand pounds cash said Bobby and it would be paid today.’

Michael relayed the message then there was a long silence.’

“You would, marvellous I will tell them thanks James.’

“Yes, Bellway can do that house for one hundred and fifteen thousand if we can complete the transaction today. Bobby gave them his credit card details and the deal was done.

“I am going to need a credit card so I can pay you the money back Bobby.’

“We can sort that out later; let’s go and look at your new home.

Maggie signed for the deeds to the property and they left shortly after to go and have a look at her new home. It didn’t take them long to reach Abbots Way and Michael pointed out that the bus would take her into the town centre from across the road.

Bus said Bobby you can buy yourself a car now; can you drive?’

“No; I couldn’t afford to learn.’

“Well now you can; so book a block of twenty lessons.’

“I can recommend someone who is very good; she put me through my driving lessons and I passed first time.’

“That would be good Michael thanks.’

Michael wrote down the number and handed it to Maggie.’ before getting out of the car. They walked towards the Show house and Michael opened the door to number one Abbots Way. Maggie’s eyes nearly popped as she walked around the house the rooms were larger than her own and there was a lovely conservatory and garden in the back. The bathroom had a shower and bath and a new flushing system on the toilet.

The kitchen was huge and there were fitted units a cooker and fridge built in. There was a dish washer as well.

Tiled and wooden floors in most of the rooms and the bedrooms fully carpeted.

This house is ready to move into Maggie there’s nothing that you need here there’s even a utility room with washer and drier

It was open plan with a dining table and six chairs. There was a large window at the front and a marble fire place.

“All the furniture comes with this property Mrs Aplin.

“Yes everything; even the forty six inch TV set and video player with a selection of video films. You have got yourself a bargain Mrs Aplin and I hope that you will be very happy here.

“I will I’m sure.’

Right then is there anywhere that I can drop you before I get back?’

“Yes you could drop us at the car showroom in North Shields.’
