"I can't stand people, sometimes." I looked at Ashton, weirdly. He is not the type to just be negative towards people. "Why do you say that? Is someone bothering you?" I asked, worried that people are messing with him. Even if they were, he would not tell me. He knows I will beat the shit out of them. "I mean they call me names for being gay and all that stuff, but I don't like that your name is always in their mouths." I smiled and shrugged. "You know how judgemental people can be. I've grown used to it. You could say I'm... Immune." He raised an eyebrow at me, questioningly. "Everything is a-okay in Luke town." But, if only Ash knew how much of lie that really is.

1. Prologue...

Luke's P. O. V

"Why is everyone scared of you?" A boy by the name of Calum asked.

"I never really knew. I have always been the talk of the school because I have tattoos and piercings. I never really understood it. My best friend has always loved my tattoos." I answered, feeling a smile being tugged on my lips.

"Ashton right? Why do people always whisper every time he is near?" Calum asked. I felt my jaw clench at the thought of people talking shit about Ash.

"Because people are ignorant of different sexuality. Well... sort of. They talk about Ash because he is gay and he wears feminine clothes. He told me he was gay after a year of us being friends, but I didn't care. I actually was kind of happy to have a friend that stood out from the rest. Others weren't. They just wanted to hate on him. They actually bothered him to a point where he tried to change the fact that he liked feminine clothes. I got mad at this and showed up at his house. I asked him if he was happy wearing quote on quote, "masculine clothes" and he said yes, but I could tell he was lying. So, I went into his closet that held all of his feminine clothes. He smiled when he saw the familiar clothes. I remember him looking at me with teary eyes that he wanted to stay strong, but the tears falling down his cheeks said otherwise. He said he wanted to stop the bullying coming his way. I told him that I would help. The next day he showed up like he usually did. Feminine clothes decorated his body. I liked the way that he was and still is and I didn't want some dumbasses ruining that. When I saw Josh, That asshole. I beat his ass. I got suspended for a week. I remember Ash getting mad at me." I chuckled at the memory. "He didn't like that I got in trouble, but I didn't care. After that, people started to talk about me being a 'bad boy' . I just kind of laughed it off. I didn't think much about it. I started getting tattoos and piercings. I started styling my hair in a quiff. I started to smoke cigarettes and drink liquor. That just made the school explode. They were all like, 'Omg! it's true after all. He is a 'bad boy'. I just shrugged it off." I said to the curious, raven-haired boy. He nodded and gave me a small smile.

"Why did you start getting into all of that? Cigarettes, liquor, tattoos, and piercings." He asked. I shrugged, not wanting to tell Calum my personal issues. Only Ashton knew about those and only some of those problems he knew. He didn't know the full story, either. I didn't want to push my problems on Ash, so I kept them a secret from the small boy.

"He means a lot to you. Doesn't he?" Calum asked, sending me a small smile. I went serious and smiled at the boy. "You have no idea."  I said as I took a long drag from my cigarette, blowing it out slowly.
