The Wolf

When I was young, mom told me the story of red riding hood, only we used to called it Layla and the Wolf.
The Wolf tells the same story, but waay differently.

"Granny, I'm here." Grandma was in her bed as always, but her back was turned to me, I couldn't see her face. It's weird she's never lay like this. "Grandma, why are you laying like this?"

"It's comfortable, dear." I crossed my mind, what happened to her voice? Was her health getting worse?

"Grandma, what's wrong with your voice?" I bent down to take a closer look at her.

I shouted so loud when I realized there was a man laying in my grandma's bed. He squeezed on my arms.

"Don't worry dear, my brother's taking good care of her. Would you like to go to her?"

I shouted again.

"Oh please, shout as you like, do you think anyone would hear you here?"

But I shouted more, and fought my way out of his arms, but the man transformed into a wold in front of my eyes. I couldn't find my voice anymore. I ran for my life, out of this house and into the woods. I wish I could find Alfie there! He could protect me, or Dylan! Dylan's here, in the woods.

"DYLAN!" I called. "DYLAN!!"

"I'm right here, what's wrong?"

"Dylan you can never believe this! I thought it was grandmother but it wasn't, oh is wasn't, it was a man well that's what I thought at first, then the man transformed into a wolf somehow. Please help me, he might be following me. He must have taken my grandmother! Help me Dylan!" I said all fast. I was crying by now.

"Calm down, calm down. I'll take you somewhere where he can't find you, deep into the woods."

I hugged him.

"Oh, thank God you're here Dylan."

"Sure, anything for you. So what did the guy look like? I need to know this."

"I don't know, he had light brown hair and a dark beard, dark eyes, um, he was big, and strong, but he turned into a wolf as I told you. I know you probably don't believe me of think I'm going mad, but it happened, it did."

"Joey." He said with hatred.

"You know him?" I asked.

"Heard of him. I think I know where to find your grandmother."

I smelled her before I heard the shouting.

But it wasn't Layla.

It was her grandmother.

I followed the smell, running as a wolf. And when I saw her, I turned into a human without letting her see it.

"Jake, what are you doing with her?!" I asked, angry. Layla's grandmother was crying. Jake had an arm wrapped around her neck and a cloth in her mouth.

"Stay away, Alfie. I'm teaching you the right way. It took you more than a week and you still couldn't do anything. We're killing them in less than a day, this old woman, the girl, and her mother."

"Touch Layla and I'll kill you." Jake looked at me, shocked.

"What on Earth happened to you? Did you - did you fall for the girl or something?"

"It's none of your business."

"It's against the rules, Alfie! Wake up!"

"I don't care about the rules! Finley Mason married a human!"

"Whom he killed after his son, Dylan turned out to be as monstrous as him and lived in the woods."

"So you're saying Dylan's monstrous and you're not? How are you any different from him? You're killing a woman! And you're planning on killing another two!"

"None of them's my wife."

"So, if she's not your wife, it's not monstrous, is that what you're trying to say?"

"It's too late, Alfie. Joey will come with the girl, he might have killed her by now."

"Then why haven't you killed her grandmother yet?"

"Please." She said through the cloth.

"Shut up!" Jake shouted. "I was waiting for Joey so that we can do it together."

"You can't do it either. You know what? I was wrong. I'm not so different from you, you're just as human as I am."

"I've never done this before!"

"No! That's not just it. You can't do it. We're werewolves, not wolves. We're half human, we can't kill them. Come on, Jake. Help me stop him."

"Stop who?" I turned to find Joey there.
