Mad Human

When the world takes a turn to the worst, there is one hope, that is a teenager: Noah Theodore Kuklo. Noah will do what it takes to make his, and his friends life’s better, even if it breaks him. He will fight, not only the undiscovered virus, but also himself; from the mental struggles of losing his friends and family, to having to do the morally wrong, and going against all the things that was taught to him as important. But in the middle of an apocalypse, nothing matters but survival.

2. Chapter 2

Now that I’ve told you my story, ugly, but true story.  Now we can go into the “Details”.  I was sitting in my room, just watching “The Andy Griffith Show”, which was normal for a Thursday night, or any night for that matter.  But tonight was different, very different.  I heard the fire alarm blare, it was a very cacophony noise for a quiet night.

Then out of nowhere an emergency broadcast came across the television, reading, “******THE UNTIED STATES OF AMERICA IS NOW IN A STATE OF EMERGENCY******DO NOT TRAVEL**STAY INSIDE UNTILL OTHERWISE INSTRUCTED******”.  What could have happened that would bring this up, was it a hoax.  Couldn’t be, the fire alarm went off.  I thought nothing of it, so I went to sleep.

Early in the morning, I was awoken by a scratch to my leg, similar to a cat scratch.  It hurt but I would survive.  Now you must be wondering what the scratch was from, well, my dog Duke sleeps at the foot of my bed and he must have scratched me getting up.  Well I was up now, so I started getting ready for school.

When I went to my bus stop there was no one there.  The road was empty, besides the bodies lying around.  It looked worse than Normandy beach on D-day.  I know, I know, what happens after that?  Well as anyone would be, I was scared.  I knew I was a survivor of whatever was happening.  What was happening?  I ran home, after about five minutes of absorbing the scene of what ever happened, only to find an empty house.  How did I not notice this before, well I assumed that everyone was still sleeping?  I guess I was wrong, something I don’t like to admit.

The internet was down and all that was on the television was a CDC symbol.  I immediately thought that this was a “zombie apocalypse.”  Now was that a reasonable statement, no?  Something closely related to a zombie apocalypse was about to happen, a pandemic possibly.  Deep inside I knew that I was the last of my family, surviving, healthy.
