Dear Ballet Boy

He's a gentle breeze,
I'm a tornado.
He's the sun,
I'm the moon.
He's graceful and composed,
I'm sloppy and a mess.
He's fire,
I'm ice.
He's everything I'm not.
We're different planets,
On different levels.
We can never be together.
We'll crash and burn.
It won't last.
So I'll keep my mouth shut.
I'll watch from the crowd.
I won't say his name.
I won't look his way.
But, I know it won't help.
I've fallen in love with him.
And who wouldn't.
After all, he is the ballet boy.

1. prologue

Today, I saw you dance for the first time.

I can't say that I've ever seen anything like it before,or that I'll see anything like it again.

You were beautiful.

But no one can know how I feel.

So I'll watch you dance from afar.

And I'll wish that you'll see me in the crowd, see me the way I see you.

And I know that you won't.

But, promise you'll keep dancing,

my one and only ballet boy.
