One Thousand Roses

Two completely opposite people; Natalia Grey the school nerd, teacher's pet. She's a big sister and role model. She believes in love at first sight. She wants the fairytale love, the one where you find your prince and live happily ever after.

Jason Summers the school bad boy, player and football player. He does what he wants, when he wants. It's his way or no way. He's the type of guy who doesn't date, doesn't believe in love nor wants it.

Talia only sees one side of Jason and that's his bad boy side; the jerk. Jason only sees one side of Talia and that's her nerdy side; geeky glasses and pulled back hair.

What happens when these two completely opposite teens are forced to see each and talk to each other every single day? What happens when the two teenagers realize there's more to the story than meets the eye? Will their opinions change? Find out in The Bad Boy's Reputation.

23. Chapter Twenty Three

Natalia's POV

You know those dramatic movies, with too much sex, gossip and popular girls? Where a new student walks in, and everyone stops to look, and she walks in slow motion, smiling at every one, waving, doing hair flips? Well, that's my school apparently.

This new girl walked in, and all the guys stopped. I looked over Jason and smacked his shoulder. "What? She's... totally not hot."

"Nice save. I don't understand why you guys are so into her? I mean, you haven't even talked to her yet, and you're all mesmerized."

"Grey, she's hot. Every guy thinks so." Jackson replied, bumping into my shoulder. I rolled my eyes and flipped my hair.

"Hotter than me?"

"Yes." Jackson and Nick replied in unison. I frowned and leaned into Jason.

"Oh my god." I groaned, pushing myself off Jason.

"Where are you going?" Jason asked.

"To get some answers for the babies over here." I replied, before walking away from my boyfriend and his idiotic friends.

"Excuse me." I smiled, walking up to the new girl. She turned around and smiled. "Hi, sorry to interrupt you, but I'm Talia. I see you're new here."

"Oh, hi. Yeah, I'm Poppy. As in Poppy Seeds." She replied, shaking my hand.

"So, do you have anyone showing you around?"

"Um... not yet. I wasn't assigned. Do you know anyone who can?"

"Do I? I'm Natalia Grey, of course I know someone. But, before that, I want to get to know you."

"Let's walk a little." We walked by Jason, Jackson and Nick, to see all their jaws open. "Jason, babe, close your mouth. This school could have flies."

"How does she do that!" Jackson yelled. I laughed and continued walking.

"Do you know those guys?" Poppy asked.

"Unfortunately." I replied.

"They're cute. How do you know them?"

"Oh, my boyfriend, who was standing on the right. He's best friends with all of them."

"What's their names?"

"Jackson, Nick and Jason. Jason is mine."

"Who was Jackson?"

"Standing next to my boyfriend."

"Is he single?"

"Single and ready to mingle."

"So... how old are you?"

"Oh, sixteen. How about you?" She replied.

"Sixteen, almost seventeen."

"Where did you move from?"

"New Jersey. My parents are divorced and I was living with my dad and my brother. But some things happened and my mom made me move here, so now.... here I am."

"Well, Welcome to New York, Jersey Girl."

"Where in Jersey? One of my mom's aunt's lives in New Jersey."

"Oh, it's a small town. Not many people heard of it. It's in Central Jersey."

"Ah, Jersey Girl in a small town." She laughed and nodded. "Do you do any sports?"

"I used to run track, but my legs literally turned into Jell-O, so I quit. But other than that, I didn't do anything else."

"How about you?"

"I did soccer, until I got injured. Now because of my injury, I can't really play any major sport."

"That sucks." She said. I nodded.

"How long have you and your boyfriend been together?"

"About a month." She nodded.

"But seriously, his friends are cute."

"It's good that you say that."

"They think the same about you."

"Really?" I nodded and looked down the hallway.

"Jackson! Come here!" I yelled, waving him over. He rolled his eyes and walked to me.

"What do you want, Grey? You already embarrassed me yesterday, what could you possibly want now?"

"Jackson, this is Poppy. She just moved here from New Jersey. She's our age, and she needs someone to show her around."

"He comes off like a tough guy, but he really isn't." Poppy nodded.

"Jason, I thought it would be nice for you to show Poppy around a bit. Don't you think so?"

"Yeah, sure." She replied.

I looked to Jackson. "Have fun!" I exclaimed, before leaving Jackson and Poppy alone.

"Have you seen Jackson?" Jason asked.

"Oh, he's with Poppy."

"The new girl. The one you all were staring at."

"Playing match maker again?"

"You know it."

"Dude, you're never going to guess what I just saw." Nick said, walking up to us.

"Jackson was talking to a girl. Not hitting on her, not making out, not harassing, but actually talking."

"Well, that's what normal people do."

"What's happening to our group man! First you, now Jack. I don't want to be next."

"I haven't done anything."

"Don't hide it. You've changed so much. You've been ditching parties, not drinking as much. You've completely changed."

"Don't bring up the not drinking thing. You know I haven't been that into drinking."

"It's all because of her, man. All her."

"Don't bring her into this. This has nothing to do with her." Nick rolled his eyes and walked away.

"Not drinking? Jason, what's going on?"

"Jase, I know you drank when I moved in. What's so different now?"

"I just... I want to be there for my mom, and sober for her."

"But that doesn't mean you have to change your whole life around. Jase, your mom loves you no matter what." I replied, trying not to say 'I love you too.'

Jackson walked up to us, with Poppy following behind. "How was your tour?" I asked.

"It was good. Jackson is a really good tour guide."

"Really?" Jason and I both replied in unison. Poppy nodded and looked at Jason. "I'm Poppy." She introduced.

"Alright Poppy Seed. Welcome to the group."

"So... are you a nerd like Grey?"

"Oh, stop. I'm not that much of a nerd you know that."

"Talia, you were a nerd?"

"She still is." Nick said, walking up to us.

"Shut up."

"I don't believe it. You're so... I don't know, cool. Nerds usually aren't all that cool."

"It's me." Jason laughed.

"Anyway... Jackson, why don't you go help Poppy to her next class."

"Oh, I have t-"

"Jackson, go."

"You turned her into a beast, man." Jackson whined, before walking off with Poppy. I smiled with satisfaction, then looked to Jason.

"I'm hungry, can we go eat?" I asked, taking his hand in mine. "I guess, come on." He replied. "You're a sap!" Nick yelled, as we walked down the hallway. Jason stuck up his middle finger, and waved it in the air.

"I believe you're in my seat." I said, as I walked up to the lunch table. Amber looked up, and rolled her eyes. "Did you not hear me? You're in my seat." I repeated. "Babe, it's just a seat." Jason said. "No, it's my seat, she doesn't have the right to sit at this table anymore."

"You know what, Natalia. You've become a bitch since you started dating him, and I'm not the only one who noticed it. You need to check yourself, and realize that you're not yourself. You've changed, and I want nothing to do with it. So here, take your seat. I don't want it, as long as you're dating your boyfriend, if you can even call him that." She snapped, and grabbed her books.

I sat down and huffed. "She's right." Jason sighed. "Excuse me? I have not become a bitch." I replied. "Not become a bitch, but you've changed. I've noticed it too." He replied. I looked at him. "Look, T, you know you miss her. And it may seem like you don't need her, but you do." He said. "No, I don't. I don't need her. I have all the people I need right by my side. I have you, Nick, Jackson, Macey and Poppy. What else do I need?" I asked. "A best friend." He replied. I sighed.

"Hey love birds." Jackson said, sitting next to Jason, as Poppy sat next to me. "How was your class?" I asked. "I never knew Writing was going to be such a hard class." She replied. I nodded. "Yeah, I took that in my Freshman year. Never again will I ever take that. Worst class of my life." I replied. "Well, why didn't you tell me?" She asked. "I didn't know you, Ms. New Jersey!" I exclaimed. She laughed.

I looked over at the other table, seeing Amber sitting alone. I feel bad for not including her anymore. I feel bad for everything. The one sad part is that... I have realized I changed, and she was right. I've become a bitch. I just have to make it better, if she'll let me.
