76. Chapter Seventy Six

Natalia's POV

On February 15, 12:03 am, Thomas Nathaniel Jason Summers came into the world at six pounds, four ounces, eighteen inches long. The hospital gown they gave me was covering my chest, my bare shoulders having goosebumps all over, from the chills. The pain level wasn't as bad as people say it is when you're giving birth. There was barely any pain at all. Granted, the only type form of the birthing process I saw was in movies, and they make everything so dramatic. Except for the episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, where Kourtney gives birth to Mason. That gave me hope.

Everyone was right, though. The worst part of the process was waiting until I was dilated. The contractions kept coming, and the epidural wasn't working to the full extent, which was terrible. They eventually took me off the medicine, before I was ready to deliver the baby. As soon as the baby came out, no sound was heard. My heart pounded in my chest, as no cries came.

"What's going on?" I asked, sitting up in the bed.

"It's okay, don't worry." One of the nurses replied, pushing my bangs out of my face. About a minute later, screams and cries came through, breaking the tension in the room. My heartbeat went back to normal, as I saw the nurses cleaning out my screaming baby boy.

"Here's your baby boy, Natalia." The nurse smiled, putting a clean Thomas in my arms. His eyes were closed, so I couldn't see the eye color, but his small button nose couldn't be mistaken for Jason's. "He's healthy, so there's nothing to worry about. The reason behind the delay in the cries was because the cord was wrapped around him, but he's okay now, obviously."

"Hi," I whispered, as Thomas' eyes opened. I took in the eye color, smiling up at Jason. "He has your eyes." I laughed, tasting the salty tears. I sniffled and looked down at the baby in my arms. The little hat he wore fit his head perfectly and the blanket made the experience so much better.

"Welcome to the world," I whispered. "See, that's your grandma and grandpa. And that's your aunt Amber and Uncle Jackson, and your aunt poppy, and uncle Nick, and Addison. Adelaide and Bria." Jason smiled down at the baby and put his arm around my shoulders. He kissed my temple, before taking the baby in his arms.

"Jase, we're parents." I choked out. He nodded, his eyes still focused on his son. He blew out a deep breath, before looking up at the ceiling. "Are you crying?" He laughed and shook his head.

"What saps," Nick said, coming up to the bed. I put my arms through the arm holes of the gown and sat up.

"How do you feel?" My mom asked.

"Tired, a little bit of discomfort."

"Well, duh, you just pushed a baby out of you for dear life," Nick said.

"Way to ruin the beautiful moment of a child being born, Nick," Sally said, hitting the back of his head.

"Why don't we all get some rest. I'm sure Talia and Jason want to sleep." Mike spoke, keeping his arm around Sally's waist. My mom nodded and kissed my head.

"I'm so proud of you." She whispered.

"Am, Jack, can you two stay?"

"Umm, sure?" Jackson questioned, stopping at the door. He and Amber both turned around to face us.

"Do you want to be the godparents?" Jason asked.

"Way to be subtle." He smiled and turned back to our best friends.

"Why us?" Amber asked.

"You're our best friends, and no matter what, you've been there for both of us whenever we needed it. And you're a good role model to him." They both smiled widely, before nodding.

"Can you believe Zack is an uncle at ten months old?" I asked, looking to Jason once everyone left.

"Can you believe we're parents at seventeen?"

"Never would've thought that."

"Get some sleep, I can see that you're tired," Jason said, kissing my forehead. I nodded and slid down in the bed. "I love you, Talia."

"I love you too."

"When you put him down, can you come lay with me?" I asked. He nodded, before kissing the baby's forehead, and put him down into the hospital crib. Jason joined me on the small bed, with one leg on the bed and the other off. "Jase, get comfortable. Lay on top of me, I don't care. I'm not in pain."

"I don't want to hurt you."

"You won't," I replied, turning on my side.

"I love you, you know that?" Jason asked, pressing a kiss to my ear. I nodded and held onto his arms.

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"For standing by me and being there for me when I needed you." He smiled, and kissed my cheek.

"Of course. I would do anything for the girl who turned me into a sap." I smiled.

"I'm a mother." I cried, sniffling the tears away.

"And I'm a dad." I choked out a sob, before sniffling again. "Why are you crying, baby?" He asked, pushing some hair off my shoulder.

"Because it's amazing that we brought this child into this world,"

"Get sleep, Natalia. We have a big day tomorrow."

"You get to sleep too. Because according to Ade, this is the last night of sleep for us."

"That's okay, I still get you to myself." I smiled and nodded.

"You are so whipped," I whispered.

"Shut up." Jason groaned.

I smiled, and kissed his shoulder. "It's okay, though. Because now you're not a bad boy."

"I'm a bad boy daddy."

"Exactly. A bad boy daddy."

"And you're a... Nerdy mommy." I laughed.
