91. Chapter Ninety One

For anyone who misses Jackson, you'll be hearing a lot from him and about him in this chapter.

Natalia's POV

"Who's ready for another day of practice?" Amber asked.

"Oh, I am so ready. After redoing the walking part ten times yesterday, I can't wait." She laughed before looking down to her phone.

"Hey babe." She smiled, putting the phone to her ear.

"Walking to the auditorium with Lia. How about you?" She said, scratching her face.

"Yeah, I see him almost everyday, why?"

She turned her head to me, before down to the ground. "What do you mean?" Amber asked, pressing the phone tighter to her ear.

"She seemed fine today, I don't know why she wouldn't be."

"I saw her this morning, Jack, I would know if something was wrong. Why are you so worried anyways?"

"Babe, just because Jason says one thing, doesn't mean it's true."

"What? Who told you that?"

"And you believed the words out of Nick's mouth? Jack, we talked about this. I would've told you if something was up, you know that."

"Tommy is going for his check up today, yeah." She said. I put my binders in my bag, before stopping outside of the auditorium to wait for Amber to get off the phone.

"Lee, did you send Jack a birth announcement?"

"His house, yeah."

"Babe, she said she sent it to your house. So Emily probably has it."

"She what!?"

"What? What?" I asked. S held up her finger to me, before proceeding to her conversation. I moved closer to Amber, listening to the conversation.

"Emily and Glenn got engaged."

"Really! That's great!"

"She moved out to live with Glenn."

"Aw, that's great."

"No, Jason is taking the baby to the doctors today."

"He wants to know how the baby is." She informed.

"Tell him he's good, he's rolling his head around a lot, and his features are looking more and more like Jason than anything else."

"Babe, can you hear me?"

Dammit, lost connection. I'll talk to him later." She sighed, before putting her phone back into her bag.

"Ah, Jason's leaving for the doctors now." I informed, opening the snapchat from him. I pointed the camera towards Amber and me, before snapping a quick picture.

"Ready for this hell?" Amber asked.

"Let's just get this over with."

Jason's POV

I tapped on my steering wheel, waiting for the light to turn back to green. I checked my mirrors, checking to see how Tom was doing. Sound asleep. As per usual. I swear, all this kid does is sleep. I'm not complaining though, when he was first born, all he would do is cry, which meant one of us had to get up, which was usually me, and each time it would be something different.

"Yo." Jackson's voice said, as I pressed the answer button on my steering wheel.

"What's up?"

"Nothing, just lost connection with the girls, so decided to call daddio."

"How's the camp going?"

"It's good, nothing major happened yet. But we're all just kinda waiting, you know? We actually went into the city, well, what they call their city, yesterday. It was horrible. Absolutely livid."

"What happened?"

"I watched a little girl get beaten by a whip outside her bungalow. And a little boy get slaughtered by his older brother. The Sargent said that kind of thing is normal there. But I don't know, if I was that father beating his daughter to a pulp, I would have to stop myself. Uh nah, I ain't doing that shit."

"So, I hear you're taking the little one to his doctors appointment?" Jackson asked.

"You got that right. I got to take the whole day off of school and everything."

"Yeah? And how much more work did you do today, that you wouldn't have done in school?"

"A shit ton. I changed about forty diapers, made about ten bottles, did about two loads of laundry, which might not fit me or the baby anymore, and I also cleaned the nursery, and cleaned out my truck to fit the booster seat in."

"Someone's in full daddy mode."

"Wipe that smirk off your face, Philips, remember I'm way stronger than you, I can take you."

"How do you know if I'm smirking?"

"Because your ego is bigger than mine."

"Jase, do you know how much I've been working out here? I'm way stronger than you are now."

"I'm at this doctors appointment, I'll call you when it's done."

"Sure thing. I'll be here, waiting. Waiting for something to happen."

"Don't jinx it, man. Don't jinx it."

"Goodbye Jase." He laughed.

"Later." I replied, before turning the car off. I opened the back door and took the car seat out of the car, before looking down to catch Tom wide awake. I put the sun visor up so the sun is blocked, something all babies need.

"Uh, I have a check up today. No, not me, my baby. I'm sorry, my girlfriend usually does this." I said, shaking my head.

"It's fine. What's the baby's first and last name?"

"Thomas Summers."

She nodded. "And yours?"

"Jason Summers."

"And who's the mother of the child, just to verify."

"Natalia Grey."

"Mhm, no."

"No?" She shook her head. "Try, um... Talia Grey?" She shook her head. "Natalia McKinley?" She nodded before handing me papers.

"Fill these out and before you go into the room just hand them to me." She said, handing me a pen and the clipboard.

"Thanks." I replied, picking the car seat up.

To Talia:

Since when do you use McKinley?

It's the name in the system. Can't change it.

To Talia:

Why isn't Grey in it then?

From Talia:

It goes by fathers name. I'm in graduation practice. Stop texting me.

"Thomas." A nurse smiled. I handed the nurse behind the desk the papers, before following the younger looking nurse into the back.

"So, Thomas is here for his check up today, right?" She asked. I nodded. "If you could just take him out of the car seat, please. We have to weigh him."

"Oh, right." She set Tom down on the scale before moving the taps around.

"Do you know how big he was when he was born?"

"Um, no. I don't."

She nodded. "Are you in school?"

"Uh, yeah. Senior."

"Nice, do you know where you're going to college?"

"Yeah, Columbia University."

"Really? I went there and my sister is going there next year."

"I'll be playing football there."

"Really? My sisters boyfriend is on a scholarship there. He's there right now, but that's awesome." I nodded.

"Alright, so, it looks like Thomas is growing just fine. He's perfectly healthy." She smiled, closing her folder.

"You know, Mr. summers, you don't look so well."

"Me? I feel fine. Granted, I'm a little tired but that's normal for a teen dad, right?"

"Just let me see if you're doing okay, yeah?"

I nodded, "sure." She shined a light in my eyes, making me squint.

"Wow, that's bright." I said, blinking a couple times.

"Yes, its supposed to be." She replied, putting the blood pressure cuff on my bicep.

"Aren't you a baby doctor?" I asked.

"Pediatrician, but yes. I do treat babies. But I also have adults coming here a lot. It's cheaper to go to a children's doctor than a regular one."

"Hmm, your blood pressure is high. Mr. Summers, I have two guesses for what you have. It's either you're high right now, or you're having a heart attack. And judging by how young and immature you are, I'm gonna go with the first one."

Natalia's POV

"I'm sorry, you're what!?" I exclaimed, stopping in the middle of the hallway. Amber stopped with me, holding onto my arm.

"I'm in jail." Jason replied.

"Jail!? What the hell did you do!?"

"Lee, you're drawing a crowd." Amber said, tugging on my arm. I shushed her, before going back to listening to Jason's story.

"You showed up to the appointment high!? Jason, what the hell! What is wrong with you?"

"Babe, you're my one phone call. Just come get me, please? Call Addison, he'll give you the money of insurance or whatever." I scoffed and shook my head. "When I come get you, you're gonna wish you were in jail."

"What happened?" Amber asked.

"My dumbass boyfriend got himself put in jail." I replied, walking to the office.

"What did he do?"

"He took Tommy to the appointment high. Meaning, he was in the car, stoned, with my child in that car with him." After signing myself out of school, and getting into my car, I called Addison. He not only has the money, but he also has common sense. Unlike his cousin.

"What's up?" Addison asked.

"You're dumbass cousin is in Jail. And I need money to get him out."

"Wait, jail?"

"Yes, Addison. Jail. Are you gonna help me or not?" He laughed on the other end of the line. "I'm really not in the mood right now, so if you'll come to the county jail, that would be nice." I said before hanging up.

"Get in the car." I said, as Jason walked out of the police station. I watched as Addison drove off with Tommy in the back of his car, driving off to Ambers.

"Can I at least explain?" Jason asked.

"No, you can't. Because until we get back home, no one is speaking. No one. You hear me? If I hear a peep out of you, I will pull the car over and you'll walk home."

"I can't believe I have to treat you like a four year old. This is ridiculous." He just kept his head down, not looking at me. "You're ridiculous." Luckily, all the way home, Jason didn't say one word. About anything. For once, he followed my orders, finally. Unfortunately, it was about a terrible thing.

I slammed the door closed before joining Jason in the living room. "Babe-"

"don't babe me, Jason. Don't."

"Talia, just let me explain."

"Let you explain!? You drove with my son in the car with you, when you were stoned! You brought him to an appointment high!" He looked down. " I don't know what else to do with you, Jason. I've tried everything. I tried convincing you it was wrong. I tried to show you what it's doing to me. I even tried to give you chances. But you take it for granted."

"You're pathetic, Jason. Really, pathetic. You're a pathetic excuse of a man, a boyfriend and you're a pathetic father. You wanna go out and get high? Fine, do it. But don't think you'll be raising Thomas as your own."

"What? Talia, don't do this."

"What other choice do I have, Jason?! You obviously don't care about him-"

"don't care about him!? Are you kidding me!? I gave up everything for that kid, Natalia! I gave up football, weight room, a scholarship to Keen! I wake up every single god damn night for that child when you are sound asleep in the god awful bed! I'm the one who has to pay the bills, Natalia! Not you! Don't you dare say I don't care about him!"

"Then start showing it! Start being a father! If you're not going to step up, then get out and leave!"

"I think you're forgetting who owns this house."

"Am I? Last time I checked it was under the name of Alexandra Summers."

"You take that back!" Jason yelled, grabbing my wrists.

"It's not your house, Jason!" I yelled as his grip tightened. "Ow, Jason, you're hurting me."

"You're a bitch, Talia. I didn't see it until now, but now I know why Jackson didn't want you or your mom. You're a bitch. You. Are. A. Bitch." He said, before slamming the front door closed.

Just as I was about to break down, my laptop started going off. I wiped my eyes before sitting at the desk in the living room.

"What's wrong?" Jackson asked. I shook my head before running my hands down my face.

"Talia, what's wrong? Amber told me Jason got arrested."

I scoffed before covering my mouth with my hands. "We got into a fight. A big one. He, um, he stormed out after I said things. He called me a bitch, and then.... just left."

"He called you a bitch?"

"I told him he was a pathetic excuse of a man and a terrible father."

"Why'd you leave, Jack?" I cried. He opened his mouth, before closing it, not knowing what to say.

"Talia, calm down."

"He told me my mom doesn't want me because I'm a bitch."

"Did he touch you?" I didn't answer. "Dammit, Talia, did he touch you!?"

"It was something little. He just grabbed my wrists, that's all."

He slapped his hand down on the table, before running it down his face. "Okay. Just, um, just calm down okay?"

"I love him, Jack."

"I know."

"Where's Tommy?" He asked.

"Ambers." He nodded. "Go to sleep for a little. He'll come home." I took a deep breath before nodding. Jason's right at some point. He does everything for Tommy. I'm the person who's a pathetic excuse. I'm the pathetic mother. You know what they say... you're your mothers daughter. It's time to change that. With or without Jason in my life.

So, what do you think will happen? How do you think Jason's actions and words towards Talia change their future? Why do you think Jason got high? Let me know by commenting!!
