55. Chapter Fifty Five

Natalia's POV

At 6:46 pm, May 31, 2016, Sapphire Felicite Spence was brought into the world at a dashing seven pounds and three inches, and nineteen inches long. Adelaide sat on the bed, holding her new baby girl in her arms, with tears running down her cheeks. Harrison stood next to her, looking down at his wife and new baby, with a big smile on his face.

"She's so small." Adelaide sniffled. I smiled and leaned into Jason's chest. His arms wrapped around my waist, holding me close. Sapphire yawned, and her little eyes opened. "Oh, hello." She kept smiling down at her daughter until she started to scream. "Oh no, what do I do? I haven't dealt with a baby since Addison." She said, searching the room. Everyone shrugged until eyes found me. "You have a baby brother. Come help me."

"I think she's hungry." I smiled, looking down at the baby.

"Can you take her for me? So I can call the nurse."

"I never held a baby like this before."

"It's okay. Just don't drop her." I took sapphire into my arms and looked down at her. Her sapphire eyes bored into mine, as she closed them, and yawned. "She's calm." I smiled, taking her hand in mine. Adelaide gasped, and smiled.

"Can I talk to you real quick?" Adelaide asked, propping herself up on the bed. Her messy bun lets some strands of hair loose, as she pleaded.

"Do you want her back?"

"No, you can hold her." Once all the family left the room, she smiled at me. "I can see it in your eyes."

"See what?" I asked, rocking the baby side to side.

"You want one. You have this... Look to you." I looked down at the baby and smiled.

"I'm only seventeen. I'm too young."

"So? Girls these days are having them at fourteen and fifteen, what's stopping you from having one at seventeen?"

"My family. My school. My future. Jason."

"Listen, we're living not too far from where you live. Come visit us and Sapphire, yeah?" I nodded and smiled at her.

"Well, this trip was fun," I said as I hopped in the car. When Adelaide was in labor, he went to the house and packed our things from the Hamptons house, and brought the car over to the hospital, so we could just leave from there.

"You got along great with everyone."

"Yeah, it was a nice and interesting escape from home." He nodded.

"What did Ade wanna talk to you about?"

"Nothing really. She just wanted to let me know they don't live too far away from home, and she said to visit her whenever."

"That was nice of her." I nodded.

"Why are we doing this?"

"Doing what?"

"Being distant. I don't understand what I did, or what you said." He sighed and tightened his grip on the steering wheel. We were only ten minutes away from home, and it was just starting to rain. We had to stop a few times, for bathroom breaks, due to us not using the bathroom last night or this morning.

"We have to stop at Uncle Cile's." He nodded and turned down a road I didn't recognize.

"Where are we going?"

"It's a back road." Within five minutes, we were in Uncle Cile's driveway.

"I'll be right back," I said, opening the door. Jason let me out, with nothing to say, or no pun.

"How was your trip?" Uncle Cile asked.

"It was good, nice to get away."

"That's good, um, the kids are just in the living room." He smiled, opening the door up.

"Natty!" Macey yelled, running to me.

"Hey, baby." I smiled, hugging her. "Were they good?" I asked, playing with Macey's hair.

"Oh, yeah. Mace ate all her food. And played with her toys. She and S had a long conversation." Uncle Cile replied.

"Good."I picked up Zack from the ground and kissed his little head. "Alright, the car is running, and Jason is... Cranky today." He nodded, and kept his hands to his side like he always does."See you soon, yeah?" He asked. "Yeah, and we actually have to talk."

"You sound like you, mother."

"Please, don't say that." He nodded.

"Jase, can you help me?" I asked. I heard him huff, and turn the car off. "Never mind, I got it." I groaned as I finished putting the car seat in the car. Macey hopped into her car seat and smiled. I got in the car, and huffed, fixing my hair.

"What's your problem?" He asked.

"Not now. Not in front of them."

"Alright, I only asked a question, don't go all apeshit on me." I only continued to look out the window. A few minutes later, we pulled into my driveway, and the car stopped.

"Let me get them out of the car, and into their rooms," I said, getting out of the car. For some reason, Jason is now acting differently. It went from loving and caring, to complaining and being a jerk. I don't know what happened in the time we left The Hamptons, to now. But whatever happened, has to be resolved. I closed both of the kids' doors and leaned against Macey's. I took a deep breath, cracked my neck, and continued down the hallway. My legs felt like they were dragging in the sand, getting heavier and heavier each time.

"Do you wanna talk about why you're being such a jerk?" I asked, walking to the living room. I sat across from Jason, who stared at me.

"I'm not being a jerk."

"Not being a jerk? Jason, I asked you to help me putting the stupid car seat in the car, and you huffed. You huffed, and turned the car off. On any other day, you would've jumped out of the car to hold Zack."

"I'm just... Tired."

"Tired of what? What could you possibly be tired of? We had a nice relaxing two days in the Hamptons after Carly left. You slept a hell of a lot there too."

"Tired of everything. I don't know if I can do this anymore." He said, standing up. My heart stopped beating.

"I can't do this. I can't keep... Pretending to be a perfect boyfriend to you."

"W... Jason, you're talking crazy."

"You pour your heart out to me, and I'm telling you I wished my ex-girlfriend's son was my own kid. I brought you to a house... Where my dumbass cousins got high, and probably snorted some kind of drug. I let you get drunk."

"Jason, stop this."

"I can't do this anymore, T. I can't." He put his head in his hands and shook his head.

"Jason, stop talking crazy." He shook his head. "We can work through this, I promise. We can work through it." I said, taking his hands in mine.

"stop. Don't end this now. Not when we're almost eight months. Not now. Please, don't do this to me. I'll never forgive you if you do this." I hugged him tightly and felt his arms wrap around me. "I love you, okay?"

"And I'll always love you." He whispered. He let go of me and stepped away.

"Jason, please."

"I'm sorry, T. But I just can't keep hurting you."

"Jason, stop, just stop."

"I'll always love you, okay? Just keep that in mind."

"Jason!" I screamed. His eyes widened. I walked towards him and slapped him across the face. "You can not do this to me. You can't just leave me here like I'm a piece of paper on the side of the road. Y-" I got cut off by his lips on mine. Hard.

"It's really hot when you talk like that."

"You're an asshole."

"I know." He said, kissing me again.

"I hate you."

"I know."

"I don't have anything."

"I don't care. I don't care anymore." He nodded, and we did another, risky, and dangerous thing. But we didn't care.

"When I'm older.... I want a baby."

"I know you do, baby."

"Good... Because I want one." He nodded.

Is this book getting off topic? I feel like it is. Like, I haven't mentioned Talia being a nerd, or Jason being a bad boy. So, I feel as if it's off topic.
