The Salvatore Sister

(written for the vampire diaries fanfiction competition)

What if the Salvatore brothers had a sister but they didn't know she was still alive? She doesn't know if they are alive either. What will happen when they find their way back to each other and talk about their life stories? What would happen when Stefan and Damon realize who their little sister has fallen in love with and what she has become?

5. How?

Yeeeeeeeee Haw Movellians! I am back with a new chapter. The Vampire Diaries Competition ended, and this is my first chapter since then. I, not-willingly, dedicate this chapter to the person who discovered my Movellas username all by himself (jk) Carlos! (*sinister thunder & lightning*)

Alexandra's POV

"Stefan?" I asked while the tears that were in my eyes started to overflow and spill down my face. Stefan sat next to Elena with a look of pure shock on his face.

"Alexandra?" he asked, sounding almost like he was being strangled.

I just couldn't contain myself anymore. I ran down the aisle of desks with tears still streaming out. He managed to stand up in time for me to fling myself on him. He too buried his head on my shoulder and I could feel his tears soaking my shirt.

"Class. We have a new student. Alexandra Salvatore." Mr. Saltzman announced. I could feel everybody staring at us, and I heard the whispers.

"Does that mean that she's related to Stefan?"

"I didn't know he had any other family around here."

I heard someone come up behind us.

"Stefan, who is this?" Elena asked, at the same time Mr. Saltzman asked, "Would you two like to continue this in the hall while I start class?" I smiled at him as I climbed down from Stefan.

"I would, if Stefan does." I replied to Mr. Saltzman, ignoring Elena. Stefan nodded. He leaned down to Elena.

"I'll explain at lunch." he whispered, then I tugged him out the door. When we were out in the empty hall, I pulled him into a hug again.

"I thought you were dead." I whispered. "I saw our father shoot you. I checked your pulse… How are you still alive?"

"The same reason you are." Wait, he was a vampire too? Of course he was! Stupid Alexandra! How would he still be alive after 150 years? Sometimes I can be a little stupid.

He pulled away and looked at me.

"There is so much we need to talk about. But by the way, Damon is alive too." he said. Damon was alive. The tears started to roll down my cheeks. I had missed both of them. Damon… we had been so close, and when he died, or I thought he had, I was heartbroken and devastated.

"I want to see him." I whispered.

"After school. I'll take you back to the boarding house and we can all catch-up." he said. I nodded and smiled.

"I'm just so happy to see you. I've missed you so much!" I said, pulling him into another hug.

After History, we each went to our next class. Turns out we had a lot of classes in common, probably something to do with Elena - I would have to get to the bottom of that.

Before lunch, I went to the bathroom. When I walked into the cafeteria, all eyes were on me. I mean, all of them. Every single person stopped what they were doing, and stared at me. It was kind of freaky.

I spotted Stefan, sitting with Elena, and five other teenagers at a round table. Two of them were the couple I saw earlier, the blonde chick, and the brown haired dude. There was also another brown haired guy, and a blonde guy with beautiful blue eyes, and a darker skinned girl. I made my way over to them.

Stefan got up and gave me a hug, which I returned. Everybody else in the cafeteria went back to what they were doing. When he released me, he turned to the group at the table, who were all looking at me curiously. Well, except for the blonde - she was still glaring at me. What was her deal? Stefan cleared his throat.

"Elena, Jeremy, Tyler, Caroline, Bonnie, Matt, this is Alexandra Salvatore. She's my little sister." he explained. Everybody gasped. The blonde was no longer glaring, but had wide eyes and her mouth was open.

"What?" Elena gasped. "I didn't know you had a sister."

"Well, I assumed she died. After I was changed in 1864, I looked for her and never found her. We never knew what happened, but after a few years, we just assumed she had moved on and was probably dead." he explained. I looked at him, surprised.

"You looked for me?" I asked. He looked at me, equally surprised.

"Of course, we did. You're our little sister. We searched the whole universe for you."

"Oh, well that explains it." I murmured, so low I hoped he wouldn't hear it. But of course, he did.

"What do you mean?" he asked. I waved it off.

"I'll explain later." I said. He shrugged.

"Okay. Well, let me introduce you to everyone. This is Elena. She's my... well, it's

complicated. I'll explain later." he said, pointing to Elena. I smiled.

"I know. I saw her yesterday, and kind of assumed she was Katherine. I may or may not have pushed her against a wall, and choked her." I said looking down.

"That was you?!" Stefan and Elena said simultaneously. I grinned.

"Yeah, sorry about that." I said.

"It's okay." Elena said. She stood and shook my hand. "It's nice to meet you." She smiled. I smiled back, a little shocked.

"You too. You are definitely nothing like Katherine." I replied. Her smile broadened.

"No, I am not." she laughed. I smiled. I think we might be friends. Stefan smiled, then turned to the brunette boy next to Elena.

"This is Jeremy, Elena's brother. He's human, but he has a Gilbert ring." he said. I nodded, signaling I knew what that meant. Jeremy smiled and waved.

"Hey." he said.

"Hey to you too." I replied. He grinned.

"This is Tyler. He's a hybrid." Stefan said, moving on. I gasped.

"A hybrid. How did that happen?" I asked, shocked.

"It's a long story." Tyler and Stefan said at the same time.

"Give me a synopsis." I said. Stefan sighed.

"An Original called Klaus came and used Elena's blood to break a curse. Elena was saved, and now her blood can be used to create werewolf-vampire hybrids. Tyler is the first of Klaus's creations." Stefan said.

My heart beat faster when I heard Klaus's name. So he had finally done it, I thought to myself. I didn't know if I was happy or sad about that. I shook away those thoughts, then turned to Tyler.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Tyler. Just please don't bite me." I said, smiling. He laughed.

"I'll think about it." he replied. I smiled broadly. Stefan then turned to the blonde, who was back to scowling and glaring at me. She had her hand tightly wound around in Tyler's, trying to show me that he was hers. I smiled broadly, laughing inside.

"This is Caroline. She's a vampire." Stefan said, smiling at Caroline, and sending her some kind of message with his eyes. She sighed.

"Charmed, I'm sure." I said to her cheekily. She scowled.

"Of course." she said, faking a smile. "It is so nice to meet you." she forced. I laughed.

Stefan sighed, then turned my attention to the dark skinned girl.

"This is Bonnie Bennett. She is an ancestor of Emily's. She's a witch." Stefan said. I gasped.

"A Bennett witch." I murmured. Stefan nodded. I turned back to Bonnie.

"I was a good friend of Emily's. I hope we can get along as well." She gave me a tight-lipped smile.

"We'll see" she replied. I frowned at her sour attitude. I looked at Stefan.

"She's not a fan of vampires." he whispered in my ear.

"Oh." I sighed. I turned back to her. "I mean you no harm. Unless you do something to get on my bad side." I said, grinning at her. She offered me a tight smile. Stefan again sighed, and turned my attention to the blonde boy.

"And this is Matt. He is also human." Stefan said, while I smiled at Matt. He was incredibly good looking.

"Hi." I said, sending him a megawatt smile. He blinked, then smiled back.

"Hi there." he said and gave a little half wave.

"So that's everyone." Stefan concluded, then sat back down next to Elena. I sat on his other side, next to Matt.

"So what's new in little old Mystic Falls?" I asked, looking around. Caroline still seemed to be sizing me up, with a little glare in her eyes. What was her deal? I'd have to ask Stefan or Elena later...

"Well, I was just about to tell everyone that it looks like we have another vampire problem."

"What do you mean?" Bonnie asked. Everybody but Elena was looking at him confused, myself included.

"Have you seen the news or the paper today?" Stefan asked.

"No." everybody replied simultaneously.

"Well, there is a report on the front page about an "animal attack." The corpse has its head ripped clean off its body. Looks like the work of a ripper. Damon and Elena thought it was me at first..." he paused, looking at Elena "...but I assure you it wasn't."

"Wait, why would it have been you?" I asked.

"It's another long story. In short, when I feed on human blood, I get a little... overzealous, and tend to rip people's heads off. That's why I try to only drink animal blood." Stefan replied. I scrunched up my nose at the fact he ate animal blood. Human blood was so much better. But, maybe me and Stefan had a little more in common than I though. Ripper siblings. Ha.

Before I could say anything about this new development, Matt cut in.

"How do we know it wasn't one of the Mikaelson's?" he asked. One of? As in, they were all awake? Were they all here? I stored that information to bring up again later.

"We don't. We're going to investigate after school, and the first stop is their house." Well, that answered one question - apparently they had a home here. Before anyone could say anything else, I said my piece.

"Well, you don't have to worry about the Mikaelson's or the ripper." I said. Everybody turned to look at me.

"And why is that?" Stefan asked.

"Because it's me." I replied nonchalantly.
