8. Chapter Eight.

Tyler hadn't contacted me in 4 days now, he hadn't returned my calls and I don't know what changed that day in the café. I locked the door before walking down the stairs. Everyone in campus seemed to be whispering, talking, and looking at me like I'm some sort of zoo animal. My head start buzzing. They couldn't know, who told them..

''Lou,''Faith said behind me, and I was so thankful to see her I gave her a hug, although I'd just seen her an hour ago.

''What's going on?''I asked, and Faith lead me to a bench. She's never been like this with me.

''Do you know a girl named Elizabeth Fellins?''the look on Faith's face was more serious than I've ever seen it be.

''No, why?''

''Well, Tyler used to date her, until she became harassive and possessive over him and he broke up with her.''

My heart began to sink. ''And I need to know this why?''

''Tyler was seen with her at her house a few days ago,''Faith said, and I felt my stomach drop, which almost made me want to puke.

''Um, I have to go,''I said quickly before Faith could stop me.

I knew that Tyler was too nice, too much of the ''perfect guy''. I hated myself for falling into his trap. How could anyone even come close to liking me for anything else than my body? I felt stupid for letting myself believe him and let him take me on dates when he was obviously still in love with Elizabeth.

Coffe would help, I was certain of it.

As I was looking for my credit card in my wallet, that I'd somehow misplaced, I found the guy's phone number on a paper in between all my cards. I had no idea how it'd got there, but at that moment, I was happy to find it.

''Hey, this is Louisa, if you remember me. From the club about a month ago.''

''Of course I remember you, honey.''his voice turned to flirtatious straight away.

''How about meeting up tonight?''

Elizabeth had given me half of the money I needed, but I knew I would get the other half somehow. I'd been driving around for days, staying in motels, searching for jobs. Louisa had called me many times, but I couldn't talk to her yet. It pained me to ignore her calls, all I wanted to do was kiss her and not think about anything else than her in my arms.

''How long do you need a room for?''

I had zoned out for a bit, so I shook my head to shake me from my thoughts.

''One night.''

I got handed the card to my room and soon after I entered it, sighing as I set my bag on the bed. Another day, another motel. Before I could think any further, my phone rang and I was praying it wasn't Louisa so I wouldn't have to ignore her again. But it wasn't. It was an unfamiliar number.

''This is Tyler, right?''

''Yes, this is he.''

''I'm Faith, Louisa's roommate.''

Shit. I was silent.

''I don't know who the hell you think you are, but I thought you actually liked Louisa.''

''I do, you don't understand-''

''Oh the hell I do. You got bored of Louisa and went back to your ex. How pathetic can one get?''

I felt sick.

''What? I haven't got back together with Elizabeth, where the hell is this coming from?'' I had no idea what was going on.

''Oh please, don't be so stupid. Everyone knows you were with her a few days ago, and I can tell you, Louisa's face went straight white when I told her.''

Fuck, fuck, fuck!

''This isn't what it seems like. I haven't got together with Elizabeth, I just needed a favor from her. Please tell Louisa that I could never do anything like that to her.'' My head was spinning and I couldn't believe what was happening. Louisa hated me.

''Do you really expect me to believe that?''

''I was with Elizabeth for an hour, not longer and not for the reasons you think.''

''What reason would it be for you to meet up with your crazy ass ex and hurt Louisa in the process? Were you ever going to tell her?''I could sense the irritation in her voice and I wanted to hit something so badly I felt my fingers tingle.

''Nothing ever happened between me and Elizabeth, I'm not interested in her, you need to believe me.''

''Why would I when you haven't even answered Lou's calls?''

''I need you to trust me with this. I can't talk to Louisa but you have to know that I haven't done anything with Elizabeth.''

A long pause.

''Where are you?''

''At a motel. Please don't ask anymore questions, because I can't answer them. Tell Louisa I'll get in touch with her soon.''

I threw the cup meant for tea or coffee against the wall, causing a loud bang to echo on the walls. I had fucked up so bad and I didn't even know if Louisa wanted anything to do with me anymore.

''I'm going out tonight,''I called to Faith as I put on my heels. I was wearing a cocktail dress and I didn't think I looked too bad.

''Lou, there's something you have to know,''Faith said to me as I made my way towards the front door.

''Jack is waiting for me,''I grabbed my purse and checked my lipstick in the mirror.

''But this is important-''

''I gotta go, we'll talk tomorrow okay?''I gave her a hug and smiled, before closing the door and heading downstairs.

His hands were unzipping my dress, until it fell off and our lips collided again. He climbed on top of me and kissed my neck. I tilted my head to the side to allow him to kiss me better, harder, faster. I needed to feel. Feel something, anything.

''Here's a cup of coffee, extra strong for you,''I heard Faith say. My eyes were as heavy as rocks so I kept them closed but thanked her for the coffee anyway.

''Lou, I spoke to Tyler yesterday.''

My eyes shot open and my heart started to race. I got up in bed and looked at Faith, although I could feel the anger rising inside of me towards Tyler. I knew we weren't dating, but I thought he actually did like me.

''He said that he just needed a favor from Elizabeth and that he didn't do anything with her.''

''What favor could he need from someone like Elizabeth?''I inquired, feeling eager to know what had happened.

''I don't know, he wouldn't say. But he said to trust him and that he'd get back with you soon,''Faith's eyes looked almost pitiful.

''Where is he?''

''At a motel. He didn't say which, but he's safe. I wanted to tell you yesterday, but..''she trailed off.

I had done it again. I'd escaped from my problems and hurt with alcohol and sex. I needed to find Tyler.

I walked up the path that lead to the boys house where Tyler lived, and I couldn't even knock on it because the door fell open and some guy stumbled out, winking at me whilst doing so. I shook my head and walked in, careful not to step on any beer cans or bottles.

''Louisa? Hi!''Lukas gave me an awkward hug.

''Hey, I'm sorry to barge in like this but-''I was cut off by a guy falling against me.

I cursed to him and shrugged him off, and Lukas flew him out of the house. He lead me upstairs, into a room with two beds. I could also see many opened condom packs on the dresser, shirts lying on the ground and just, a total mess.

''Has Tyler told you where he is?''

''He said he was heading towards Virgina for a couple of days, said he had to do something.''

''Do you know where he is now?''I was almost desperate to find him.

''No, sorry sweet. I'm sure you'll find him in one of the motels on the road to Virgina,''he explained, giving me hope.

I'd driven around for 3 hours, searching through all the motels. I pulled up at another one and prayed to God I would find him somewhere.

I walked into the reception and could smell the countryness.

''Hello, is Tyler Mitchell staying here?''I inquired of the mid aged lady, with glasses on her nose that made her look a lot older than she probably was. She had a few wrinkles and she looked genuinely nice.

''You just missed him. He left about 5 minutes ago,''she said, looking at me like I was a lost puppy dog.

''Alright, thank you for your help.'' I walked out and drove back on the road, until I realised I was running short of gas. I pulled up to a gas station and I felt my breathing almost stop when I saw Tyler's black car parked in the middle of the two other gas points. I parked my car, and saw he was facing his back towards me and filling up his tank. He hadn't even realised I was there.

I took a deep breath and walked towards him, every move I made made my heart beat faster. I didn't know what would come out of this conversation, or if anything would even come at all.

''So here you are.''

He turned around and looked shocked to see me, but I could see a glimpse of relief portrayed on his features.

''Louisa, what are you doing here?''he came closer to me and pulled me into a hug. I felt comforted, I could smell his scent and his body fit so well with mine it was like we were two puzzle pieces put together.

''I had to find you, I was worried about you.''I looked into his eyes after we had pulled out of the hug. He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, which made him look even more attractive.

''You shouldn't have come looking for me.''

''What the hell is going on Tyler? You can't just disappear for days, ignore my calls and expect me to be fine with it. I know that we aren't dating but I did think you care enough about me to let me know what goes on in your life!''I let out the anger, feeling a bit pissed off at him for ignoring me and meeting with his ex for some unknown reason.

''Can someone else pick up your car? I want to take you for a drive,''Tyler said and I only then realised the swelling in his jaw, it made me worried about what had happened.

I called Faith and asked her to come pick it up later, using the spare keys I had back in the dorm.

I was sat in the passanger seat and Tyler started the engine.
