2. Case 2-All the darkness looks alive-part 2

Elizabeth, New Jersey

RODNEY-"Okay, so what did you experience?"

ANA   "I was about 29 when it happened, and here, in this room as I would lay down to go to sleep, I would begin to feel tingling in my feet. And then, it would rise up to my legs, torso, and hands. I would also hear buzzing, you know, like bees buzzing. That's when these episodes would start. I'd feel tingling and feel the energy. It felt like my mind was awake, but my body was stiff and I tried to move my head from left to right, but I just couldn't move.

And at that moment, I would hear tapping at the window, and it would tap here". Ana pointed at the side of window behind the left curtain.

It would just tap rapidly, and I thought "Well, maybe it's just or squirrel or a raccoon". But the taping was a pattern, so it was definitely a knock. (She taps rapidly at the window, creating a pattern). And I'd open my eyes and look toward the window, and the tapping would stop. But after a while, I started feeling an actual presence.

And I would feel this presence right next to me, trying to take my soul out. It would torture me at night and I would try to fight it, but I felt felt like my body was paralyzed. It was just so strong that I'd let go, and I would feel myself floating in the air. I would try and see myself, but it was just a blur.

Um, and it happened for many years, and um, but I was trying to fight it. In my head I would say "No, no, no!", so I'd pull back, and it would pull the other way.

When I was in my mid to late 20's, I had a really awful break up. I was miserable because I was like so heart broken. And, I started my new teaching job around the same time too, so that was stressful.

I would just see this dark figure by the bookshelf's and I like.. could not move, and it was fucking terrifying.

I didn't really know what was happening at the time, but I did think that somebody had broken into my apartment at first, because at that point, me and my roommate had lived in a hotel in 4th street at the top of the building. And our apartment was really easy to get into. like the door from the balcony to the back door didn't really lock, so I think I was like "Oh fuck, somebody actually broke in!".

To be lying there knowing that I want to move and I'm trying to move, but I cannot, is absolutely terrifying.
