“Down where Emily?

“On my fairy.’ It hurts.

“I want you to remember when you are six years old now Emily.’

“It’s my birthday and we are having a party. Daddy has bought me a bike and he shows me how to ride it.’

What happens after the party can you remember?’

“Yes, daddy comes to my room and gets into bed with me I’m half a sleep and he is touching me again he put my hand on his thing and tell s me to move my hand.

Then what happens he puts his thing in me and I scream for mam but she is out.

Daddy is crying now and he says sorry.’

“Does he ever touch you again?’

Yes he comes in the bathroom when mam is out.’

How old are you now Emily.’

“Fifteen he starts to wash my hair and my back and he’s rubbing his hands on my breasts and between my legs. I tell him to stop and tell him that I will tell my mother.

He hits me over and over. I get out of the bath and he forces me down on the floor and I can smell his beer and tobacco smoke on his breath. He pushes his cock in me as he has been for years. He panting like an old dog and I just lye there until it’s over then he gets up and leaves.’

“I tell my mother who doesn’t believe me. I slash my wrists and I’m taken to hospital.’

Father makes me tell them that I did it because I was being bullied at school.

Then I missed my period and I know that I’m pregnant. I confide in a teacher at school and the police come and arrest daddy. He’s calling me liar, liar as they take him away.’

“Did you have a baby Emily?’

“I got pregnant but I lost it after three months.’

“How did you feel Emily?’

“I’m ashamed, guilty, and full of remorse for sending daddy to jail.’

“What happened after that?’

“Mam has me put into care and this is when I met Tony the Italian. I get pregnant again and he dumps me.’

“Did you have his baby?

“No I miscarried again and it was a girl, I always wanted a girl. I had no sisters.’

“How old were you when you met John?’

 I was seventeen.’

“How did you meet him?’

“We met at a dance.’

“Did you fall in love with him?’

“No,’ I saw him as and escape from the home.’

“How old were you when you married John?’

I was twenty and I was pregnant again.’

“Did you have his baby?’
