193. Choice

A flash at the edge of my vision

And roaring thunder in my ears,

I can feel welling up the tears

As comes the time for a decision.

I cannot, do not want to decide,

Wishing to fly away and hide;

I know not why heavens bring forth

Such a dark and twisted choice as this,

Adventurer lost in the wide north,

– From Scylla into Charybdis -,

For in pieces my heart will break

Leaving only sadness in its wake…
