Helen's POV

I woke up to the sound of waves crashing against the shore. I pulled the duvet onto my bare chest and turned to Calum who was still sleeping. My body pressed against his and began tracing my finger against his brown skin. I let my finger imitate the feather tattoo that was on his collar. A smile played against his lips before he opened his eyes.

"Good morning baby," His voice was raspy and made me weak in the knees. He brought my hand up to his lips and planted a simple kiss. I smiled at him.

"We bring Aslan and Chewie home today," I said.

"Oh, my children."

I laughed, "I'll make some breakfast and we'll go, sound good?" He nodded. I began getting up but Calum pulled me back.

"Five more minutes," he mumbled before nuzzling his face in the crook of my neck. I waited a few minutes before slipping from his hands, but his grip tightened. I poked his ribs, "Hey!" I took the advantage to escape. I laughed but he only glared, "Cheater."

"All is fair," I said and began getting dressed. I walked back into the room and Calum was still laying in bed. He was staring at his phone screen and scrolling with his thumb. My eyes wandered to his exposed torso, the duvet covered only up to his waist line.

"It's not nice to stare," His eyes flickered to mine and he smirked.

I rolled my eyes and laughed, "Then you won't have to worry about that now." I turned on my heel and left the room.

"Come back," Calum called from the room as I walked down the stairs. I laughed to myself. My hand fell onto the banister and continued my pace. I walked into the kitchen and began to bring out ingredients for making breakfast.

"I'm so excited!" Calum exclaimed as we pulled up to my father's house. He had been excited ever since we left the house, now he's about to explode.

"Calm down," I said and laughed before turning to engine off.

Calum immediately got out and didn't wait for me as he walked towards the front door. I had to jog to catch up to him. The door opened before we reached it and Aslan and Chewie bolted towards us. They yipped as they jumped up on Calum, their tails wagging like crazy.

"My boys!" Calum said as he tried to give each one his affection at the same time. "Daddy's home." The dogs eagerly licked his face and Calum laughed. "Not the face! Oh, I missed you guys so much."

I smiled at the sight before me as Calum gave each of the dogs a kiss. Aslan finally seemed to notice me and walked over to me. His tail wagged and I nuzzled his head, "Hey buddy." A new bark made me turn my attention towards the door. I saw Billie bolting out of the house. "My baby!" I exclaimed as I opened my arms for my long time friend who gladly ran up to me and greeted me.

"Well, now I know who's your favorite," Calum said and stood up.

I looked at him, "Calum, Billie has been around since before you were."

His lips formed a perfect 'O' but he quickly smirked, "You're gonna play that card?"

I furrowed my eyebrows, "What? No, I'm just giving you facts." He smiled and grabbed my waist before lightly pulling me towards him, our lips meeting together. A sudden scream from inside the house made us pull away from each other. It sounded all too familiar and I groaned when I realized who it was. I threw my head back and groaned, "Vanessa."

"Who?" Calum asked.

"Vanessa, Veronica and my Aunt Clara, they're probably all here now," I replied. "Oh and Jayla! She's the only good thing that come out of Aunt Clara's third marriage."

We walked into the house and I saw a woman walking down the stairs, she wore a navy blue maid's uniform and smiled kindly at me. "Excuse me Miss Hemmings." There was a Spanish accent that hung onto her voice as she grabbed the luggage that was next to me.

"Um, if you don't mind me asking, but who are you?" I asked curiously.

"I'm Ms Clara's maid," She said.

I exasperated in disbelief, "No lo puedo creer! Esa bruja no puede hacer nada ella sola!

She smiled, "Me llamo Carmen."

"Por favor, llamame Helen, Carmen," I replied. She nodded and walked up the stairs. I huffed and turned to see Calum with a devilish smirk. "What?" I asked.

"God, you are so sexy when you speak in Spanish," He said.

I winked, "I know." I turned on my heel and walked towards the backyard. My eyes fell on Vanessa and Veronica who were sunbathing by the pool. Aunt Clara sat under an umbrella and sipped a glass of margarita. I cleared my throat and Aunt Clara looked at me.

"Helen!" She exclaimed and got up. "Congratulations on graduating! I didn't think you'd do it."

"Gee, thanks Aunt, glad I could prove you wrong," I replied. I raised an eyebrow when I saw that Vanessa and Veronica were both simultaneously perching their sunglasses on their heads as their eyes widened in disbelief.

"I call dibs," Veronica said.

"I saw him first!" Vanessa shot back. They quickly jumped up and ran towards us. I turned and saw Calum behind me, he smiled innocently and I knew he has not clue about what was happening. Calum was now Vanessa and Veronica's new target.

"Helen, darling are you gonna introduce us to your friend?" Aunt asked.

"Uh, this is-"

"Ba-ba-ba," She placed her fingers to my lips to stop my talking. "Let him speak. What's your name?"

"Calum Hood, ma'am."

"Well Calum, my daughters are both single and are quite the catch," Aunt said. My mouth fell open as I saw that she was doing the same thing when I introduced Brad to her.

Vanessa nodded, "I'm very fun." She batted her lashes flirtatiously.

"And I'm pleasurable," Veronica added and winked.

"Yes, these girls are the light of my life," Aunt Clara smiled. "A handsome man like you shouldn't be single."

"You're very right," Calum began. "And I'm not single. I have an amazing girlfriend and she's standing next to me." His arm snaked around my waist and he brought me in for a kiss. God, I love this man.

"What?" All three said in unison.

"You're dating Helen?" Veronica asked.

I nodded and I felt the anger rising once again from the look of her face. "And if you even try to flirt with him, I will slap you so fucking hard your teeth will bleed." I smiled. "Understood?" Vanessa and Veronica nodded. "Good." I grabbed Calum's hand and led him back into the house.

"Now I know what you mean," Calum said.

I nodded, "This isn't the first time it's happened."

"Hey, look at me," He stopped me and I turned around. "Don't be jealous, baby. You don't have to worry about anything."

"I know," I said. "It just pisses me off when they do that."

"Today is about you, although for me, everyday is about you," I laughed. "Look, don't worry about them okay? We celebrate and you're gonna have fun at your party, okay reina?"

I raised an eyebrow, "Whoa, whoa, when did you get the time to google translate that?"

"That means queen right?" he asked.

I nodded, "Well done, grasshopper."

I had arrived  right when the party started to get dressed. I needed a little help with my hair but after that was done, I slipped into my dress. It was a light gold color. The bodice was tight and it opened up from the back. I pulled up the straps to make sure I wasn't showing too much cleavage. I looked in the mirror and smiled at how amazing I looked. The dress was tight and loose in all the right places.

There was a knock outside the room I was in, "Darling are you almost ready?"

"Yeah, i'll be out in a bit!" I called back to Calum. I smoothed the dress down one more time before nodding at myself in the mirror. "You can do this, Helen." I told myself. I walked towards the door and opened it.

Calum's eyes fell onto me and his lips parted slightly. i took this opportunity to check his choice of clothes. He wore a black tuxedo that was unbuttoned from the front. His tie hung around his neck and I almost attacked him right then and there.

"You," He began. "Look," He looked at loss of words. I smiled at his reaction. "Oh my god," Before i could say anything else he crushed his lips against mine. I relaxed under his touch. "Stunning." He kissed my cheek. "Gorgeous." His lips met my neck. "Amazing." Another kiss. "Breathtaking." Kiss. "Fucking beautiful." His eyes met mine. "Your beauty is that and many more."

I smiled and bit my lip, "I love you."

"I love you more, but c'mon, can't keep your guests waiting," He stuck out his elbow and I looped my arm through it before we walked towards the stairs. I clung onto Calum as we walked towards the party. I saw various unfamiliar faces. A few of my friends were scattered here and there. I spotted Luke with Michael and Ashton, they were smiling widely.

"Nervous?" Calum asked me.

"A little," I replied. "Why?"

"Cause you're digging your nails into my arm," he replied.

"Oh!" I loosened my grip. "I'm so sorry, Cal. I didn't know!"

He chuckled, "It's fine, love."

We reached the bottom of the stairs and we were handed two glasses of champagne. The liquid fizzled in the glass as I raised it, along with everyone else. I met eyes with my father.

"A toast, to Helen, who just graduated high school and I am extremely proud to call her my daughter. A bright future lays ahead of you, sweetheart," He smiled. "To Helen." Everyone repeated and took a drink from their glass. I smiled and let my eye fall to the ground.

"Sparkling cider," Calum said.

"What?" I looked at him.

He rotated the glass in small circles, "It's sparkling cider."

I took a swig and sure enough it was sparkling cider. I laughed, "Can't get too crazy, right?"

"Oh, totally," He smiled.

Luke waved us over. I took Calum's hand and dragged him towards Luke, who was standing next to the fruit stand. Michael was stuffing himself with the small watermelon balls and Ashton plucked a fruit kabob from the wooden stand. The watermelon had 'Congrats Helen' carved into the side.

"This is amazing!" I exclaimed. I grabbed a toothpick with a small watermelon ball stabbed through it. I popped it into my mouth. "Oh my god, now I know why Mikey over there is nearly finished with the first watermelon."

Michael nodded, "It's really sweet."

"Try some!" I turned to Calum and held a toothpick up to his face. He ate the watermelon.

"You're right," He said and grabbed another one.

"You look beautiful Helen," Luke said as he brought me into a hug.

"Thanks, Luke," I smiled.

"i second that," Ashton said and giggled.

Michael nodded, "You look amazing."

I knew I probably had to greet my guests but I was afraid that if I left the rest here and came back later, all the fruit would be gone. There was a wide assortment of fruit, such as honeydew, cantaloupe, berries, blackberries, pineapple, strawberries and plenty more. I nearly finished all the strawberries when I finally decided that it was time to stop hogging the fruit stand.

My fingers intertwined with Calum's as we walked towards people I recognized and began thanking them for coming. Calum introduced himself and they would later ask us how long we've been together. We ran into a few a of my friends a couple times and they pulled me into a hug before recording a video to put on their SnapChat story

A few unfamiliar faces claimed that they were either close to my father or claimed that I didn't recognize them because I met them when I was younger. I rolled my eyes when I saw the Annoying Brats clan. Drake Tellez, Ricky Smith, Ruby Wilson, Greg French, and Samantha Spade.

"Fuck," I mumbled under my breath.

"What's wrong?" Calum asked.

"Helen! So glad to see you," Ruby smiled.

"Cut the act Wilson," I mumbled. "Just because this is my party doesn't mean you need to act like you like me. Who invited you?"

"Your father is close with out parents, remember?" Greg said.

"And that gives you a free pass to act like an asshole?" I turned and saw Aero and Matty strolling towards us. I smiled at them and pulled each into a hug.

"Thanks for coming," I said.

"Of course, congratulations Helen," Matty said.

Aero nodded, "We're very proud of you. And remember, our gift to you is the big box wrapped in silver paper."

I laughed and went back to Calum's side. The three greeted each other for the second time in this lifetime.

"How much did she pay you?" Samantha asked Calum. We all turned and realized we had forgotten they were there.

"Excuse me?" Calum asked, clearly confused.

"Obviously, Helen would never be able to get a catch quite like you. How much did she pay you to attend this party with her and be called her boyfriend?" Samantha continued.

"You little-" I began walking towards her put Calum held me back. Samantha smirked.

"Helen, calm down, you're gonna make a scene," Calum said. "And we've been dating for over a year." Calum pulled me away from the group and took me to a secluded corner. I took a deep breath and smoothed my dress down.

"Those girls know how to make my blood boil," I said through gritted teeth.

"Ignore them," He replied and brought his lips to mine in a sweet kiss. "Okay?" I nodded and exhaled. "C'mon, I have a surprise for you."

He took my hand and led me back towards the crowd. His back faced me as he weaved through the people. He suddenly stopped and turned. We stood under the chandelier, his eyes fixated on me. Slowly, I saw that the people around us began moving away. They were backing each other up to the edges to make space for a dance floor.

"Calum," I said slowly.

"Took me a while to find this song, but after searching through your spotify playlist for so long, I knew this was the perfect song, for this exact moment," He replied.

"What?" I asked with a smile.

My heart nearly stopped when I heard the beginning guitar chords of the heartfelt anthem coming out from around us. I looked up at Calum and nearly broke down in tears right then and there. He pulled me into his chest and his hand met mine as he lifted it. He placed his other hand on my waist, mine rested on his arm. This was probably the first time Calum and I ever slow danced and this was in front of dozens of people.

"Look at me," Calum said. My eyes met his. "You can do this. Just look at me." I nodded and smiled as we began swiftly moving.

I etched the face of a stopwatch. On the back of a rain drop and did a swap for the sand in the hour glass

I heard an unhappy ending, It sort of sounds like you leaving. I heard the piledriver waltz, It woke me up this morning

You look like you've been for breakfast at the heartbreak hotel and sat in the back booth by the pamphlets and the literature On how to lose your waitress was miserable and so was your food. If you're gonna try walk on water make sure you wear your comfortable shoes

Calum mouthed the words as we danced across the marble floor. My eyes never left his. The world around us disappeared as if it were only us. Dancing slowly to Arctic Monkeys.

Mystery's flashing amber Go green when you answer But the red on the questionnaire never changes

I heard the news that you're planning to shoot me out of a cannon. I heard the piledriver waltz, it woke me up this morning.

You look like you've been for breakfast at the heartbreak hotel and sat in the back booth by the pamphlets and the literature on how to lose, your waitress was miserable and  so was your food. If you're gonna try walk on water make sure you wear your comfortable shoes

Ohh, piledriver

I rested my head against Calum's chest and closed my eyes as he whispered into my ear. Our hands fell and I felt his hand on my waist as we continued to dance. The guitar riffs gave me a warm feeling inside. Calum's steady heartbeat rang in my ears. The song was coming to an end. Seconds before the song ended I felt him pull away. He dipped me slightly and brought his lips to mine. My hands cupped his face. Our lips remained locked as he brought me back up. The crowd clapping is what made us pull away. I smiled widely at him.

"I love you," He said. "You cannot imagine."

"I love you too Calum," I replied and I meant every single word.
