Jane Courson is a girl that lived in Scotland with her parents. Being the only child, she was given anything money could buy, but to her, money wasn't everything. She wanted fun, love and adventure in her life, something that was always denied for many years.
Two days after school was over, she made the decision to run away from home, moving to London and looking for adventure.
In London, her curly haired neighbour, not knowing that he was the one and only Harry Styles from One Direction, becomes her best friend and changes her life forever.

7. Chapter 7

It’s been three weeks since I moved to London and everything was perfect. I’ve finally finished unpacking every single box and my clothes and shoes were perfectly in the dresser. I had found a job as a babysitter, babysitting a 6 weeks old baby girl, Julie, whose parents were as mine, working almost all day, mostly until 9pm. I loved babies a lot, and back at Scotland I used to babysit my neighbour’s baby one weekends so I had experience at this.

Julie stayed with me at the living room so I had to put Cat upstairs with all her food and toys, and thankfully she didn’t mind at all, she was a happy lazy cat sleeping upstairs all day.

Danny, the boy I met while I was on my morning run, sometimes came by and helped me babysit Julie, and that made us closer as friends. We usually went out for a walk through the park, for a walk around London, had a picnic, or just played with Julie at home, having a blast. I must admit, I really liked Danny, he was very sweet and caring, and sometimes he played Beatles songs for me and Julie, which made him even more perfect.

I’ve talked to Harry and the others two times since I saw them last, short conversations and a few text messages at night. I knew they were very busy and we weren’t the closest friends so there was no reason to be mad or to feel left behind, but I missed them a lot.

During these three weeks I watched every single video about them that I found in youtube; their auditions, the bootcamp, their video diaries and everything. They all looked so young in their auditions, Harry’s hair was curlier than they are now, Louis hair was longer, and Niall looked like a baby. I loved Harry singing ‘Isn’t She Lovely’, he had an amazing voice, but my favourite audition was Liam’s, singing ‘Cry Me a River’, his voice was perfect. The video diaries were hilarious, Louis was the funny, crazy and weird one and I just loved him.

“Yeah, it’s okay Mrs. Johnson, I completely understand. You don’t have to worry. All right, goodbye.” I said to the phone, I was talking to Julie’s mom. Apparently she was going to be out of town with Mr. Johnson for a week so Julie will be sleeping here with me.

“What did she said?” Danny asked as he was carrying Julie.

“They have to go to Oxford, you know, work stuff.”

“So Julie is staying the night?”

“Yep, for a week.” I smiled weakly.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” Danny asked, lifting up my chin.

“Nothing. I love having Julie here but… they are like my parents, working, traveling and leaving their baby alone.” I said looking at Julie, who was now playing with a toy. Danny didn’t know what to say so he just hugged me.

“Will you stay for the night too?” I asked, looking up at him with a smile.

“Of course.” He smiled and kissed my forehead.

I couldn’t help but feel left behind… I missed my parents but they haven’t even called, they had no idea I was in London, and my friends… no one was wondering where I was.

That night we had a lovely homemade dinner prepared by me. I made spaghetti and mashed potatoes for dinner, Danny helped with the mashed potatoes and made a mess in the kitchen but after we finished dinner at 10pm, he helped me clean up.

While Julie was sleeping in her crib near us, Danny and I talked about stories from our teenage years and then watched a couple of Disney movies in case Julie woke up. I guess I fell asleep watching the movie because the next thing I knew was that the phone was ringing and the TV was still on. I stumbled off the couch half asleep and picked up the phone.

“Hello?” I answered a bit annoyed.

“Hello? Jane?”

“Yes. Who is this?” I asked yawning.

“It’s Harry.”

“Harry? Why are you calling at… 2:30 in the morning? Is something wrong?” I asked becoming aware that something might have happened if he was calling at 2 in the morning.

“Oh I’m sorry I completely forgot about time differences.” He laughed. “Everything is all right I just thought I’d call since we have some free time.”

“Well as long as you call.” He laughed.

“Can you go on Skype?”

“Sure. I’ll be on in just a second.”

“Okay see you in a few seconds.” He smiled.

“Bye Harry.” I hung up and went into my room to get my laptop.

As soon as I turned on my laptop the Skype box came up. I quickly clicked the ‘accept’ button and Harry’s face appeared in front of me.

“Hello, love.”

“Hi.” I said half asleep.

“Love the bed hair.” He smiled. “Sorry I woke you up. It’s just that I missed you.”

“I miss you too, Harry. How are you? How are the boys? How’s the tour?” He laughed at all my questions and started answering them.

I could hear the boys in the background just goofing around and I couldn’t help but laugh at them. Harry just rolled his eyes and told them to shut up a few times when they got louder.

“JANE!” Louis yelled loudly, causing Julie to wake up. “Guys it’s Jane!” He yelled again.

“Hey Louis! How are you?” Just then, Julie started crying loudly, causing Danny to wake up too.

“Is that a baby?”

“Yeah obviously. Hold on a second.” I said standing up and walking towards Julie’s crib.

“Why do you have a baby?” I heard Louis ask.

“Because it’s my job. I’m babysitting her.”

“Can we see the baby?” Harry asked.

“Shh… don’t cry Julie, Janie is here.” I said rocking her in my arms. Her eyes were squeezed tightly and her face was flush.

“Should I get her some formula?” Danny asked from the couch with a sleepy voice.

“Yes please.” I smiled at him and then back at Julie. “There, there, sweetheart, don’t cry.” I soothed her, walking around the living room, trying to calm her.

Danny came minutes later with Julie’s bottle. I sat in front of the laptop again, with baby Julie in my arms.

“Hey sweetie.” I cooed and gave her the bottle. Julie started to drink the formula in her bottle, quickly falling back asleep. “Sorry about that.” I said to the boys.

“It’s okay.” Harry said.

“She’s so cute. How old is she?” Louis asked.

“6 weeks old.” I said looking down at her. “She is so tiny.”

“And who is he?” Harry asked. I looked at the screen at Harry and noticed him sort of annoyed. Could it be possible that Harry had gotten a bit jealous? Come off it Jane that’s absurd.

“That’s Danny.” I told him. “Remember the guy I told you I met on my morning run? That’s him.”

“Oh so you’ve been hanging out?”

“Yeah. He is very nice and he’s been helping me look after Julie.”

Niall, Liam and Zayn joined the conversation a few minutes later. They were all talking at once, telling me some funny stories, and about the concerts. It was 3:30 in the morning when the guys left and it was just Harry and me, and Julie was finally asleep in her crib as well as Danny. We talked for a while about his adventures in America, about the girls he had met, and about crazy things the guys did, I laughed and yawned.

“Are you tired, love?” Harry asked with a laugh.

“It’s almost 4 in the morning, Harry.” I smiled.

“I know sorry but I don’t want you to go.” He said softly. “I should let you go now. You need to get some sleep. Sorry about the inopportune call, love.”

“Don’t worry about it.” I smiled. “I’ll see you in a few weeks.” I said yawning.

“I can’t wait to see you again, Jane.”

“I can’t wait to see you again either… and everybody else.” I smiled to myself. “Goodbye, Harry.”

“Goodbye, love.”
