Falling for a Criminal (Loki Fan Fic)

It has been two years since awakening in Asgard, helping a criminal (being Loki) escape, and making a mistake bigger than helping that criminal. Thanks to that mistake Joy has been living with armbands of steel, an entity who speaks to her through mind, and two powers. The first power is telekinesis; able to move objects and people at will. Second power; make machinery explode at will. Loki pops up again after 2 years. And Joy might be falling for a criminal. It's a-okay long as he is immortal and such.
Curious now? Then read it.
Sequel to 'Awaken in Asgard'. Book 2 of 2.

8. When all is unsaid and undone

"You got the touch,

Oh yeah!

You got the motion!

When all is said and done,

You're a winner,"  - The Touch, Stan Bush.

...May 6th...5:49 PM....

...New Jersey Hospital...

I saw Pete and his mother at the bedside of Mary SamHeart.

"Who is she to them?" Loki asks.

"What?" I said, startled jumping up one foot above the ground and turn towards Loki. I punch Loki at the shoulder. "Don't scare me like that!"

"Ow," Loki said, rubbing his shoulder. "That hurts."

"She is Pete's  long lost grandmother, as it turns out," I said.

"She is family?" Loki asks.

"Yes," I said.

"Stale," Loki said. "And cheesy. I have a question that you really need to answer."

I sigh turning my head towards Loki.

"Okay," I said. "Thank you."

"That is not what I wanted to hear," Loki said. "Who am I?"

I gaze at Loki for awhile.

"Your name is Loki Laufeyson," I said.

"Doesn't ring a bell," Loki said.

"That is your name," I said. "And you used to be immortal."

Loki blinks.

"Wait, as in the guy who made the attack on New York City?" Loki asks.

"Yes," I said, with a nod.

"You must be lying, I am not that man," Loki said. "I am not responsible for the deaths of thousands."

I am startled by the sudden change in Loki.

"That is who you are,"  I said. "You disguised yourself a long time ago and you happen to like this appearance. We did meet before two years ago."

"Two lousy years ago," Bob said.

"Oh shut up," I said, rolling an eye.

"But I didn't say anything," Loki said, innocently.

"I was talking to your imaginary shoulder friend," I sarcastically lied.

Loki has a suspicious look all over his face.

"Where did we meet?" Loki asks.

"In your cell,"  I said.

"I don't remember being in a cell," Loki said.

Gee, Loki has a bad case of memory loss.

"Like I said; you were a criminal back then," I said. "Until you realize what my real name is then I classify you as a criminal."

"But I am not him,"  Loki said. "I am Thomas Crane of North Dakota."

"Sadly, you are Loki," I said. "And my name is not Joy."

Loki observes me in shock.

"Yes, it is," Loki said.

"Is not," I said.

"Is too," Loki argues back.

I fold my arms.

"I was lying to you,Loki," I said. "I am not of this Midgard."

"But you are adjusted to this life and well known," Loki said. "I refuse to believe you came from Asgard. And please call me Crane."

I smile.

"You are remembering," I said. "But you are wrong about about the Asgard part."

Loki frowns.

"I am not remembering," Loki lied.

"Too bad," I said. "You are the worst criminal pretending he doesn't know who he is."

"That is because I honestly have no idea," Loki said.

"I just told you who you are," I said. "And the least I can do to thank you is tell the truth."

I go to the elevator leaving Loki at the window.

"I smelled attraction back there with you and Loki," Bob said.

"Oh shut up," I said, turning around towards the elevator do

"How did you hear me from down the hallway?" Loki asks.

"Not you, silly head," I said, pressing a button. "I was talking to myself."

I can hear Bob's laughter as the elevator door closes.

Sad how I have to close out selective people from my life.
