Falling for a Criminal (Loki Fan Fic)

It has been two years since awakening in Asgard, helping a criminal (being Loki) escape, and making a mistake bigger than helping that criminal. Thanks to that mistake Joy has been living with armbands of steel, an entity who speaks to her through mind, and two powers. The first power is telekinesis; able to move objects and people at will. Second power; make machinery explode at will. Loki pops up again after 2 years. And Joy might be falling for a criminal. It's a-okay long as he is immortal and such.
Curious now? Then read it.
Sequel to 'Awaken in Asgard'. Book 2 of 2.

4. Be right back? That is a lie.

"I will be back," Joy said.

Then why has it been 3 days and no sign of her? The police searched for Joy down and low every crevice of New Jersey. Captain Joy, Loki thought rubbing his chin eying at the television, she must have called me by the same last name. His eyes are trained on the television set.

Joy had flat out lied.

"So far no sign of Joy Salamanders has been found," The news reporter said.

"You said that ten minutes ago!" Alan shouts. "Can you talk about something different for pete's sake!"

Loki picks up a notebook with Joy's address he had written down. The news channel had blared her address for the past three days during the search. Perhaps her house had clues. How can Loki be so sure the detectives did not disturb the scene? He couldn't be sure. Alan is at the kitchen cooking with a television blaring a movie Loki is not quite at all aware of. All Loki can hear is screams from the kitchen; pre-recorded screams that is.

It is like there is a murder going on when there is not.

"I am going out," Loki lied. "Just to see if I may have forgotten something at the Stadium."

"Anything to jog that rusty brain of yours!" Alan shouts over the screams.

"If anything it is you who has the cobwebed brain, brother," Loki recalls a argumentative phrase he once said.

Loki gets up off the couch.

I have a brother?, Loki thought, Don't seem to feel like I do. If I did he would have found me by now...Unless he is in on my memory loss. Loki rips out the paper from the notebook then puts the notebook paper down on the table beside the couch. Loki goes out through the ajar door. He is wary for people to jump out holding swords or chalices. Why would he expect chalices of all items including swords? Loki recalls a young blonde boy training with him using a wooden toy sword.

Loki feels dizzy as he made his way to the elevator.

How odd, Loki thought, getting dizzy of all things remembering the past.

Loki pressed the button 1.

"Who am I really?" Loki said. "Thomas Crane is a made up name."

But why would he make up a name?

He leans against the rail rubbing his forehead.

A mess that his previous life had made.

"Tick tock on the clock," Came lyrics in the elevator. "Welcome to New York, welcome to New York, it is waiting for you!"

"Taylor Swift," Loki said raising his head up towards the ceiling.

Of all songs this elevator played before; this happened to bring some memory. Loki likes listening to Taylor Swift in some level that he cannot fathom but he undeniably likes it. Loki recalls holding the body of a dying woman in his arms prior to his memory loss. He was sad, upset, and beyond all crying. Loki looks down from the ceiling puzzled.

That woman, who he can only remember vaguely, had been dying?

Ding! went the elevator.

Loki walks out of the elevator once it opens.

His stride is confident and he breezes past the other people towards the sliding doors

Who is Thomas Crane really?

"Be right back," Joy had said with a smile. "And this is a temporary goodbye."

More like a short good-bye.
