Falling for a Criminal (Loki Fan Fic)

It has been two years since awakening in Asgard, helping a criminal (being Loki) escape, and making a mistake bigger than helping that criminal. Thanks to that mistake Joy has been living with armbands of steel, an entity who speaks to her through mind, and two powers. The first power is telekinesis; able to move objects and people at will. Second power; make machinery explode at will. Loki pops up again after 2 years. And Joy might be falling for a criminal. It's a-okay long as he is immortal and such.
Curious now? Then read it.
Sequel to 'Awaken in Asgard'. Book 2 of 2.

...New Jersey Bar...

"Who the hell are you?" I ask the strange blonde man at the bar table.

This blonde man has been staying behind while everyone else retired to the streets, to their houses, and to the benches outside.  He had been dressed up oddly wearing a baseball cap covering his prominent facial features. The blonde man smiles taking his baseball cap off putting it on the table with a light thud.

"You have heard of me," The blonde man said, folding his arms on the table.

I frown.

"That I have not," I said.

The blonde man has a skeptical look.

"I find it hard to believe a woman who called in about my brother's where-abouts has not heard of me," The blonde man said.

My mind wondered off and then I remembered the movie trailers for Thor.

I recognized the man as Thor.

Wait, so Loki is Thor's brother?

"Wait a second," I said. "You're that guy with the hammer?"

I remember the Thor trailers where this woman was at the hospital mentioning some lines and then scenes of Thor being shown with his very big hammer capable of projecting thunder at will.

"Yes," Thor said, with a nod.

"And Loki is your brother?" I ask.

"Yes," Thor said. "My adopted brother."

"Wow, Marvel is good at keeping stuff under-wraps," I said.

"Marvel?" Thor asks.

"A movie company that profits over making comics to movies," I said.

"Oh," Thor said.

"Yeah," I said. "Since we're alone and all...Why did Loki lose his memory?"

There is a bit of hesitation on Thor's part.

"I wasn't there," Thor said.

"You gotta have a good idea why your brother forgot who he is and rejecting that he is himself," I said.

Thor looks at me for awhile.

"Have you ever known of a woman named Clara Carls?" Thor asks.

"No," I said.

"Loki fancied her," Thor said. "And she had a sketchy past," I clean a glass cup putting it under the table listening to the story being told.  "Clara, really, didn't have a great history with all her lovers and nearly got killed in every single mission she went on."

I bob my head up (From below) startling Thor with a pleased reaction.

"Oh, she was a spy!" I said, delighted.

Thor shook his right hand.

"No, an agent," Thor said.

"Spppyy!" I sang.

"Agent," Thor said. "And apparently Loki went along on one of her missions."

"And lost his memory," I said.

Thor has a slow nod.

"Does Loki smell any different than how you last came across him?" Thor asks.

"Well, if you are asking whether or not Loki is immortal in English," I said. "He is a mortal," The look on Thor's face changes to a 'He did--what?'. "That I know because he cut himself on a glass bottle by accident."

"Loki gave his immortality to a mortal," Thor said. "And Clara wasn't there for the aftermath."

"Apparently she was," I said. "Clara back-stabbed Loki."

"I told Loki she was no good," Thor said, shaking his head in disappointment.

"We all do not heed  warnings like that," I said. "Man, go home, Loki is putting his life together. Maybe a new life."

"I doubt he will be calling himself another name for long," Thor said.

"Thomas Crane," I said. "That is who he is calling himself."

"If you can," Thor said. "Keep an eye out for Loki."

"I have  been doing that for two years and 5 months counting," I said.

"I trust you can remind him who he is by the inside," Thor said. "And help him start anew."

"Fancy, fancy," Bob said. "Maybe you should kiss Loki."

No, I thought, Loki is a criminal.

"So?" Bob asks.

I don't kiss criminals, I thought.

I smile.

"Can't promise anything for certain," I said. "We don't exactly get along."

"That is the least of my worries," Thor said.

"I have a voice in my mind that talks and it is kind of hard to hold a conversation with someone else while it speaks,"  I said.

"I used to have that," Thor said. "Until he lost his memory."

I feel anger towards Thor.

"I mean it," I said. "It is kind of hard to build a relationship when I am constantly saying 'shut up' to that voice in my head."

"Loki does like to play with accents," Thor said.

I turn off the back lights to the bar with a sigh.

"I am not talking about Loki," I said. "I am talking about the voice in my head.

"Sounds like you are talking about Loki," Thor said.

I smile.

"Dream on," I said.

Thor has a snicker.

"I met up with Loki yesterday," Thor said. "And insisted he does not know me."

"How sad," I said.

"That is why I am going after Clara," Thor said.

I blink for a moment there, stunned.

"Hold on a minute," I said, shaking both hands in front of myself. "You are going after a immortal woman."

"I will take my chances," Thor said. "Clara must have done something bad by now."

Thor gets up off the seat taking his elbows off the bar table.

"Going off her prior history?" I said. "You are being biased. She probably went to Russia; the most criminally corrupted nation in the entire world."

"No," Thor said. "She is not a big fan of 'Mother Russia' as Loki put it."

I had a short laugh recalling  a commercial where Robin Williams was at a football game and needed to eat a Snicker Bar.

"Good luck," I said.

"I do not need luck," Thor said, picking up the baseball cap.  "I have luck by my side."
