1. Vs. Bomb Man

The sun was just beginning to set over the city of Quackville. A powerfully built human-duck breed was driving home after a long day of hero work. Then suddenly--

"There is about to be a bank robbery in the Quackville Bank on 4th Street," the duck's scanner reported.

Without hesitation, the duck punched a button next to the speedometer. The radio immediately folded into a radar screen! It pointed to the duck's car, which was only 4 blocks away but going in a separate direction.

He hit another button marked DRIVE MYSELF, and the car began to drive itself. Then he typed DRIVE TO TOWN BANK into the controls. The autodrive system immediately began to plot a course to intercept the robbery.

Next, the seat back snapped backward, and two steel bands slid in opposing directions to remove his pajamas. A built-in stamp quickly punched his chest, leaving his SQ sticker covering his feathered torso. Then a tube clamped on him and left him with his cape.

The seat backs returned to an upright position. The duck as no other than Superquack. And he was ready for action!

He hit the TURBO button, and the car rocketed down the street.

Superquack parked his futuristic car toward the front of the parking lot and climbed outside. Then he left toward the back of the bank. There he dialed the code, revealing a secret passageway which let him inside.

He was taking a look around the bank when he suddenly heard a series of beeps issuing from the vault. "Wait a second..." he whispered as he walked up to the vault and put his ear to it. The beeping grew more and more rapid...and boom! A giant explosion blew the door off its hinges and knocked Superquack to the ground. Out of the smoke and rubble stepped the notorious Bomb Man.

Superquack rolled the door aside and stepped forward. "Bomb Man!" he growled.

"Superquack!" roared the bank robber. He drew a gun and took a step backward. "Now, die!"

Just as he had his hand on the trigger, an enormous vat of water sent Bomb Man flying across the room, knocking him out in the process.

Then the silhouette of a slender woman appeared in the vault. She stepped out to reveal the features of a younger superhero named Morgan.

"Morgan!" he said knowingly. He hadn't seen her in years.

"Superquack," she replied as she reached out an arm to get the robber to his feet.

"No it's all right," he told her. "I've got him."

"Sure you've got him," said Morgan, dropping him. "I just saved your life. In fact, I exploded to do my job. It happens every time I spray."

"My job, you mean," Superquack replied.

"A simple 'thank you' would do the trick."

"Thanks," Superquack smiled, "but I don't need any help."

Morgan put her hands on her hips. "Whatever happened to 'ladies first?'"

"Well, whatever happened to equal creation?" Superquack countered.

Morgan stepped closer to Superquack. "Well, we could both grab a wrist. Problem solved."

"I work alone," Superquack replied coolly.

"Well, you wouldn't be the first," said Morgan, doing a few super-speed laps around Superquack as she spoke. "I think you need to be a little more...active."

Suddenly, they both heard a loud groan. The bank robber had gotten to his feet.

Morgan's head jerked around as Bomb Man punched Superquack. Superquack easily took the pain and backhanded him, knocking him into the vault. The puddle was still there.

"Ducks fight with honor!" Superquack said enthusiastically. "Grab him!"

"He's grabbed!" said Morgan, holding him up by his wrist. Superquack took the other.

They dragged Bomb Man to the doghouse next to the police station and handcuffed him there.

"Now, you just stay here," said Superquack, rubbing his hands. "They usually come for the rubbish in an hour." Then he said goodbye to Morgan and she took off.
