12. Escape From Tutu Island

Back in the prison chamber, Superquack hung his head. "How could I have been so blind?"

Strattoglae chuckled. "We all make mistakes." Suddenly her tone was dead serious again. "But we can't let that stop us. We have to--"

"Mr. Baby Tutu's proved he's more clever than us. He would never have walked into such an obvious death trap. We've been his test subjects all along, and now we're done for."

"Strattogale's right," said Morgan. "It's not like you to have such a negative attitude. You can stop him. We just have to get out of here."

"There's no way, Morgan. It's finally happened. The Dinobot was a trap, and you fell into it too. Now it's over. We've been outwitted--"

"...bruted, made a fool of, decieved, ridiculed, beaten, conned--"

"That's enough!" Morgan screamed. Superquack stopped, knowing Morgan meant it. "Screw it. Quackville's in danger, we're about to be blasted, and all you can do is feel sorry for yourself."

"And you," Superquack moaned.

"I know you can save us, but if you've given up then--"

Superquack grunted. He was beyond negativity now. But one thing remained--cords resistant to his Super Strength. "Morgan, trust me, I haven't given up. But Mr. Baby Tutu's in Quackville, and we're tied up in cords beyond breaking and an inch from death. Trust me, Morgan. Do you have a plan?"

"You know what? I do," said Morgan, and turned into a tire. Then she slipped from the cords and rolled away and over to the control panel. "Well, I think it's time to kick some metal!"

Morgan pushed a button, and the bowling ball released. Crap! As the ball fell down the slide, Morgan pulled a switch. The cords unstrapped, releasing Superquack and Strattogale. Morgan had saved the trio!

The Supers raced through an empty corridor. "We need to return to Quackville," said Superquack.

"I saw a room of vehicles," said Morgan.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tutusymbol sadly watched the Dinobot's rampage before turning to the cameras. He doubted anything had gone wrong, but it always paid to make sure.

Mr. Tutusymbol's jaw dropped. The Supers are free!

They arrived at the hangar door, and Superquack pushed the door open. They expected to see swarms of guards at the other side. But no guards were to be found.

"Where are all the guards?" Superquack wondered aloud. He turned to his friends. "Go! Go!"

Morgan and Strattogale rushed past him, and he followed. Then he heard cheers from inside a command vehicle parked in the hangar bay. Why does the ship have directions on it? he wondered. Then he went inside the ship.

Inside, a guard cheered threw 3 pieces of popcorn into the air...and realized he hadn't heard them land. "Uh oh." Superquack firmly dropped all three pieces to the ground before knocking out the guards and throwing them out of the truck.

He whistled to the Supers, and they climbed inside. Superquack was about to push the button marked BLAST OFF when someone knocked on the window.

Superquack rolled down the window and saw Mr. Tutusymbol. Crap. We've been spotted.

"Good luck," he said, smiling.

Superquack was surprised, but pulled the truck in motion. Two bars clung to it and raised it to the top of the base and out a hatch, primed for Quackville.
