Music, Love, and Everything in Between

Michael and Samantha had been one of the best couples that you would ever meet. But once distance, and another player gets added onto the board, they are not so sure their relationship is as strong as they hoped.

16. 16

Michael and I hadn’t talked in weeks. If he couldn’t handle the fact that I had other things in my life than just him, then he needed to get over himself. We didn’t feel like boyfriend and girlfriend anymore, and since we didn’t feel like it, it wasn’t worth my time to be a part of it.

The phone rang a couple of times before I heard a hello from the other end of the phone.

“Hi, I’m assuming whoever has answered the phone knows who it is.” I said harshly into the phone. I wasn’t willing to put up with any of the bands shit.

          “Yeah.” They replied.

“Well, I need you to give me to Michael.” I responded.

“You’re talking to him.” Michael said into the phone.

“Good, I know we haven’t been talking recently.”

          “Yeah, you got that right.”

“Well, since I don’t feel like your girlfriend, I decided that I won’t be.” I said into the phone with a quiver in my voice.

“Right,” Michael said his voice trailing off into a sad distance.

“Well, I guess this is goodbye.” I replied into the phone. I could feel the shaking in my voice and the start of tears in my eyes. I hung up the phone, not giving Michael a chance to say anything back. I laid on my hotel bed and felt the tears roll down my cheeks as I looked towards the ceiling. Michael was the best thing that has ever happened to me, but some things don’t last forever. I turned towards the pillows and snuggled myself into the blankets. At that moment my phone began to ring, I looked towards it, expecting to see Michaels face looking up at me from the phone. Instead Evans face was lighting up my bedside table.

“Hello?” I said with sadness in my voice.

“Hey!” he said brightly at first, “Are you okay.” He said, his voice getting more serious.

          “I’m not sure.” I responded.

“I’ll be right there.” He said and then he hung up the phone. Minutes later a knock sounded from my door. Once the door opened, a waterfall of tears poured down my face as I collapsed into his arms. He carried me to the bed where he let me rest my head on his chest and let me cry.

“Do you want to talk about it?” he asked me. I shook my head and buried it into the crook of his neck.

I arrived late to work the next morning, I had accidentally slept in, and Evan covered for me. When I appeared on the set, he immediately walked up to me with his phone in his hand.

“Is this what that was last night?” He asked me, showing me his phone screen. I saw my name and then Michael’s. I grabbed the phone out of his hand and continued to read the article.

5 Seconds of Summer guitarist, Michael Clifford, stated that he is now single. From which we can only assume a breakup happened between him and his now ex-girlfriend, Samantha Connelly.

I couldn’t read anymore. I nodded my head as I handed Evans phone back to him.

“I am so sorry.” He said as he wrapped his strong arms around me and set his face in the crook of my neck.

“Hey, perhaps, you would maybe, ya know, like to go out with me tonight and talk about it.” He said as he pulled away from the hug.

“I’m not sure if you’re trying to be nice friend, or trying to ask me out on a date.” I responded while giving him a playful smile.

“Well, why don’t you go out with me, and we can find out.” He said as we walked away from me.
