Music, Love, and Everything in Between

Michael and Samantha had been one of the best couples that you would ever meet. But once distance, and another player gets added onto the board, they are not so sure their relationship is as strong as they hoped.

I had spent much of the tour with the boys, and we were finally close to the end of the tour. At least we were in America. We were staying in Seattle when I walked down to the front lobby after a full day of doing nothing.

“Oh My, Gosh! Michael!” I yelled as I walked into our hotel room from the front desk. In my hand I held the letter from the casting agency. I had auditioned about six months ago for the lead role in Domination and I was super pumped when I got my letter.

“Oh My, Gosh! Samantha!” he responded sarcastically as he looked up from the bed.

“I DID IT!” I yelled as I jumped up and down holding the letter.

“You did what?” Michael asked with an excited smile on his face.

“I got the part! You know for Domination that I tried out for a while back?” I said as I flopped myself onto the bed while shoving the letter into Michael’s face. He took it and proceeded to read aloud:

Dear Samantha Connelly,

Congratulations! We have reviewed your audition and have decided that you were the best fit to play Grace in the upcoming movie Domination. Included are dates and times for script reading, rehearsals, fittings, etc. We expect you to be prompt and arrive at these meeting without fail. We are overjoyed to have you as a part of our cast!

Sincerely,

James Smith

A smile lit up Michaels face as he continued to read the letter, my smile only grew as I watched his smile.

He hugged me as he set down the letter on the bed, “When do you leave?” He said while looking at the letter.

“Uhh, lemme check,” I said as I picked up the envelope with the schedule inside, “The 21st of this month.” I responded as I looked up at him.

“How long will you be gone?” He said

“Well, we are actually filming in Australia, so I’ll be there when you get back! But on here it says their planning for needing me for two years.” I looked into his green eyes. “But hey! I’ll be in Australia, and it’s not like we won’t get breaks! I would still want to see you!” I say as I sat next to him and put my head on his shoulder and let our fingers intertwine. We both knew we wouldn’t see much of each other. That’s what happened with my last movie, and I know that’s what he’s worried about.

“Hey,” He said while putting his hand on the side of my face and looking into my eyes, “I’m happy for you.” He said as he leaned in and kissed me.

I woke up the next morning sleepy and covered in blankets. Michael’s arms were wrapped around me and he was sound asleep. I was careful not to wake him as I crawled out of the bed. I grabbed his Green Day shirt from the floor and put it on, along with a pair of sweat shorts. I headed down to the main lobby of the hotel where breakfast was being served. I grabbed two plates and piled the food on and returned to our hotel room. I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to do this, but I did it anyway. When I walked in Michael was just waking up.

“Good morning.” I groggily said. I wasn’t a morning person.

“Good morning.” Michael said was he sat up and smiled.

“I have food.” I said as I sat on the bed and handed Michael a plate. I laid on my stomach with the plate in front of me and the five pages of the letter laid out in front of me. There was the letter part, followed by a two page schedule. On the other two sheets there was a list of things that I needed and basic information about the movie and more specifically about my character.

“Dude, that’s a lot of papers.” Michael said as he took a large bite of sausage.

“There will be more,” I said, “There are about a thousand pages to the contracts, but they can’t send those in the mail.”

“Figures.” Michael replied. I giggled as I folded the papers back up and placed them into the envelope.

“I’ll read that later.” I sat up and leaned against the back of the bed. Michael soon followed suit. I grabbed the remote from the bedside table and turned on the T.V. I leaned up against Michael. I know I needed to spend as much time with him as possible, but I didn’t know how much time we would really have.
