Until the very End

20. Chapter 20

I meet up again with the Fellowship and I was taken into the arms of Aragorn, "Do not leave me again" he whispers into my hair, "Never" I say and kiss him on the cheek just as Mother and Farther walks in with a group of elves behind them. We all line up and they fasten cloaks around us with green, sliver-veined leaf-brooches. "Never before have we clad strangers in the garb of our own people. May these cloaks help shield you from unfriendly eyes" Farther tells us. The Elves help us prepare for departure, Legolas and I are among them, shifting parcels into a set of boats provided by the Galadhrim. I help Sam into a boat and Frodo into another one, I look up to see Aragorn talking to my Mother.

Aragorn's P.O.V

I go over to the boats only to be stopped by Galadriel. "I have nothing greater to give, than the gift you already bear. Am meleth din. I ant e-guil Naevys...pelitha" she says and we both share a sorrow look (For her love, I fear the grace of Naevys...will diminish) "Aniron i e broniatha ar periatham amar hen. Aniron e ciratha a Valannor" I tell her (I would have her leave these shores, and be with her people. I would have her take the ship to Valinor) "That choice is yet before her. You have your own choice to make, Aragorn...to rise above the heights of all your farther's since the days of Elendil, or to fall into darkness...with all that is left of your kin" Galadriel tells me. "Namarie" she says (Farewell) I bow my head to her but she lifts it up with her hand, "Nadath na i moe cerich. Dan...u-eveditham, Elessar" she says (There is much you yet have to do. We shall not meet again, Elessar) I nod my head and walk over to the boats. Naevys walks up to me "Everything okay?" she asks me, "Yeah" I tell her and kiss her forehead before settling in a boat behind Sam.

Naevys's P.O.V

Just as I was about to get in the boat that carries Frodo, Mother grabs my arm and pulls me away from them. "Every league you travel South, the danger will increase. Mordor Orcs now hold the Eastern shore of the Anduin. Nor will you find safety on the Western bank. Strange creatures bearing the mark of the White Hand have been seen on our borders. Seldom do Orcs journey in the open, under the sun, yet these have done so!" Mother informs me, "Be safe. Le aphadar aen" she tells me (You are being tracked) she kisses my cheek and walks me back over to the boats. Aragorn shares a boat with Sam, Legolas and Gimli in another, Boromir is joined by Merry and Pippin, and Frodo and I are in the last boat. We paddle through the river, past the Elves onshore.

We sail out and leave Lorien behind, white mountains rise starkly beneath blue skies and green trees. "I have taken my worst wound at this parting, having looked my last upon that which is fairest. Henceforth I will call nothing fair unless it be her gift to me" Gimli tells Legolas and I as our boats are next to each others, "What was it?" I ask the Dwarf. "I asked her for one hair from her golden head. She gave me three" Gimli informs us and this causes Legolas and I to smile.
