Until the very End

2. Chapter 2

My name is Naevys, I am the daughter to Celeborn and the Lady of the Light, Galadriel. My home is Lothlorien but I prefer adventure, I prefer destroying evil then sitting at home learning to be a princess. Which leads me to now, right now I am with Gandalf the Grey. We have known each other for the whole of my 200 years of life.

"Hmm hmm hmm hmm, down from the door where it began, hmm hmm hmm hmm" Gandalf mumbled as I rode next to him on my horse, Nuala. "And I must follow if I can. The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began, now far ahead the road has gone, and I must follow if I can" Gandalf sang and I joined in. "You're late!" a voice said, from the banks. Gandalf and I both stop riding "A wizard is never late! Frodo Baggins" Gandalf speaks from beneath his hat "Nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to" he says as he looks up into Frodo's eyes. We all look at each other very seriously when we started to smile and finally broke into laughter, "It's wonderful to see you Naevys and Gandalf!" Frodo cries as he jumps down from the bank and onto Nuala. We embrace each other before I set him in front of me "You didn't think we would miss your Uncle Bilbo's birthday?" Gandalf asks him as we start to ride again. "What news of the outside world? Tell me everything" Frodo says as we start to enter the Shire "Everything? Far to eager and curious for a hobbit" I say, "Most unnatural" Gandalf jokes. "Well what can we tell you? Life in the world goes on, much as it has this past age. Full of its own comings and goings" Gandalf informs Frodo. Gandalf and I ride into the markets where everyone shouts our names and waves at us, I smile and wave back while Gandalf tilts his hat at them. "A long and expected party" Gandalf says as we watch Hobbits put up tents for Bilbo's party. "So how is the old rascal? I hear it is going to be a part of special significance?" Gandalf asks Frodo, "You know Bilbo, he's go the whole place in an uproar" Frodo tells us "Well that should please him" I laugh. "Half the Shire's been invited" Frodo tells us, "Oh gracious me" Gandalf mumbles "He's up to something" Frodo says "Oh is he?" I question, "Alright then, keep your secrets! Before you two came along, we Bagginses were very well thought of" Frodo reminds us. "Indeed" Gandalf mumbles "We never had any adventures, or did anything unexpected" Frodo says, "If you're referring to the incident with the dragon, I was barely involved. All I did was give your uncle a little nudge out of the door" Gandalf informs Frodo, "Whatever you did, you've been officially labelled as a 'disturber of the peace.' You too Naevys" Frodo tells us "Oh really?" I question. I look over to the right, past Gandalf's cart to see old Everard Proudfoot working in his garden, I smile at him when he looks up at us but he only glared at me as we went by. "Gandalf! Naevys!" Children shouted out our name as they run after us, "Fireworks Gandalf! Naevys! Fireworks!" they say but you could hear in their voices that they were becoming disappointed. "Don't disappoint them" I mumble to him, he gives me a wink just before a few fireworks fly from the back of the cart and explode in the air. "Hoooraaay!" they cheer, Frodo smiles at us as we laugh at their excitement. "Naevys, Gandalf, I'm glad you're back" Frodo tells us, "So am I dear boy" I tell him as I help him slid off Nuala "So am I" Gandalf mumbles as Frodo waves goodbye to us.
