"What's wrong? What's happening?"
"Just some complications."
Beth and Harry? Great match. But things are complicated. And how are you supposed to fight complications when they have been part of your relationship from the start?

[Beth's P.O.V.]

"Ok, so does this look ok?" I asked frantically, glancing towards the three girls staring at me.

"Calm down, you look beautiful." reassured Karime.

"A gorgeous princess." added Fawz.

"I can't believe it, Berry is actually going on a date. My little Da Vinci has a date." Laura squealed.

"It's probably not meant as a date, I think we're just friends at the moment. I mean, why would he want to have more to do with someone like me? I'm no one." I mumbled.

"Be quiet and stop lying to yourself." replied Fawz firmly.

"Emily, you are someone. You're a kind, funny, beautiful and perfect girl. Not 'no one'." Karime told me sternly.

"And we know you're hoping that this will become more, don't think that we don't." smirked Laura.

I shot them a genuine smile. They were right. And if Harry was only looking for friendship, then that was fine by me. I'd also love to be just friends with him.

"So now we have the outfit and all that. We can only wait then, right?" I grinned. We had all had a lie in, had a late breakfast and had then used the rest of the day on planning. There were only fifteen more minutes until Harry picked me up and I was buzzing.

"Someone's excited, huh?" commented Karime, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes. I'm very excited." said Laura, even though Karime had meant me. The girl looked around confusedly, then realized.

"Ohhh. Yes, of course she's excited." she stated sheepishly.

We rolled our eyes. I swear, she couldn't be half as excited about this as me, I wanted to jump out of the window and fly, screaming my head off.

Suddenly, I realized the others were staring at me. Then Fawz burst out laughing:

"You said that out loud genius!"

I blushed slightly, but laughed along as we sat down on the mattress-covered floor.

"Careful. You don't want to crease your dress." warned Karime. I nodded and arranged my dress around me, so that it didn't get  any folds. Suddenly music came from Laura's direction and I recognized the song immediately.

"Laura, are you trying to kill me? 18 just before I go out with Harry?" I whined.

She just ignored me and laid herself back on her duvet, sighing.

[Harry's P.O.V.]

I hurried down the street. I only had one more minute to get to Beth's front door and I wanted to be on time. First impressions always stayed, that I knew. Luckily I soon saw the door and, taking a deep breath, I stepped towards it and rang the bell. I could tell that I was nervous. I didn't want to mess this up, I wanted it to be perfect. Why did she make me so nervous, though? Normally I was quite confident, but now I felt like a jittery mess.

"Pull yourself together, Harry." I muttered, shaking my hands a little to gain control again.

"Like curtains." I added, smiling slightly at myself. I then realized that I could hear music. It sounded familiar. It sounded just like 18. Suddenly a loud voice yelled:

Giggling followed and a few shushing noises and I nodded to myself. Yep. Definitely 18. Then the door opened and a woman was standing in front of me. She looked temporarily confused, then beamed at me:

"You must be Harry! Come on in!"

I greeted her politely and followed her into the house. She hurried upstairs and after a little whooping and cheering, she came back down with Beth. Beth was looking absolutely wonderful. I wondered if she could ever look anything else than totally breathtaking.

"Now listen here, Styles. You'd better take care of my daughter, alright?" she threatened, nevertheless smiling.

"Of course. I won't let any harm come to her." I promised seriously. I really didn't want anything bad to happen to the girl standing next to me,  rolling her eyes at her mother.

"Good. Now go and have some fun." smiled her mum sweetly and I pulled Beth out behind me, making sure to say goodbye nicely. We strolled along the street, grinning until suddenly three screams sounded from the house we had just left.

"Well, they did promise to do it after we had left." Beth shrugged. I laughed at her coolness and she giggled too.

"Brrr, I'm cold. Didn't know it'd be this chilly. God, it's supposed to be summer." she then shivered.

"Here, you can borrow my scarf." I offered and she took it gladly, wrapping it around her own neck. I zipped up my jacket a little, only realizing now that she was right.

"Aww, but now I have a cold gentleman here." she pouted.

"Look, why don't we share it? I'll wrap it around both our necks." I suggested cheekily. She giggled and nodded and soon we were stumbling on our way, giggling like idiots. Sure, we got quite a few stares, but I didn't really care. They could put it in the news if they wanted. I was having fun with a girl I really liked.

When we were at the restaurant, I pulled out Beth's seat for her, like I had learnt a real gentleman would do and she blushed. I then sat down opposite her and looked at her intently. I liked reading people. She looked a little nervous, like me, and also excited. Well that was good. I wanted her to enjoy herself.

When the waiter arrived with the menus, we flipped through the pages, scanning the different dishes.

"Oh my god, I can't choose!" she groaned. I chuckled a little and kept looking.

"Well, I've heard that the 'spaghetti al pomodoro' is very good. Spaghetti with tomato sauce basically." I suggested.

"Can you speak Italian?" she asked curiously.

"No, there's a translation under the Italian actually." I grinned.

"I didn't see that! Somebody's cheating, huh?" she giggled.

"Nooo." I whined.

"C'mon, I know you wouldn't have told me there was English too." she smirked, rolling her eyes.

"Well you could see for yourself." I shot back.

"Aww, I'm sorry baby."

I smirked to myself and went on with my search for something for myself.

When the waiter came back, I had settled on 'Spaghetti carbonara' and Beth had agreed with what I had suggested. But as she saw what I had ordered, her eyes nearly rolled out of her head.

"Spaghetti carbonara is like my favourite food, oh my God!" she moaned. Soon she was begging me for a little of my food like her life depended on it.

"Alright, alright. You can have a bit of mine. But on two conditions." I explained, holding up a finger. She nodded eagerly, so I assumed that I could go on.

"Firstly, I'm allowed to have half of your spaghetti ok? Fifty-fifty."

"Alright then, fair enough."

"Secondly," I continued, now a devilish glint in my eye.

"What?" Beth whined impatiently.

"I get to feed you."

She looked rather taken aback at first, but then the smirk was on her face again and she took my finger and pushed it down, leaning towards me. I could immediately feel my heartbeat getting faster. What was wrong with me?

"Only if I get to feed you too." she stated. I gulped. I had a feeling that this wasn't going to end without sauce all over the place.

When the waiter came we accepted our plates thankfully and picked up the forks, looking at each other challengingly.

"I go first, it was my idea." I said stubbornly. She bit her lip and nodded, leaning over the table. I rolled up some spaghetti on the fork and tried to aim at her open mouth. Honestly, I tried, but my aim wasn't too good and I hit the side of her mouth before reaching the target. She gasped when she had chewed, wiping herself off with a napkin.

"Your aim's terrible." she commented, trying to keep back a giggle. Now it was her turn. I watched as she also got the fork ready and opened my mouth as wide as I could.

"Here comes the train! Choo choo!" she yelled, then smeared the pasta across my right cheek.

"Oi! That was on purpose!" I protested.

"I'm sorry, my aim's not the best either!" she pouted innocently. I knew that she had planned it. She was just acting. Nevertheless, it was funny and we giggled on as we spread sauce all over the place, earning disapproving looks from the other guests and the now haughty waiter.

When we walked out later that evening, the waiter seemed to be quite glad to be rid of us. We were literally laughing our butts off.

"Did you see his face when I got tomato sauce on the table?" wheezed Beth.

"Which time, I lost track, you did it so often!" I giggled. Beth just laughed, throwing her head back. I quickly took the moment to fully appreciate how amazing she was. It was so easy to laugh with her. Nothing seemed forced and I couldn't help but stare at her beauty. She was perfect in every way.

We started the walk back to her house, chatting, joking. When we were about to cross a road, I couldn't help but get lost in her eyes yet again whilst we crossed.

Suddenly there were bright lights, an ear-splitting screech and I instinctively pushed Beth away. Then I felt as though I had been hit by a bull and flew until I landed again, my vision blackening around the edges. The last things I could hear were a scream and Beth's mum's voice echoing in my head.

"You'd better take care of my daughter, alright?"

Well I had definitely tried.

With that I blacked out.
