Complications

"What's wrong? What's happening?"
"Just some complications."

Beth and Harry? Great match. But things are complicated. And how are you supposed to fight complications when they have been part of your relationship from the start?

[Harry's P.O.V.]

I grinned sheepishly. She stared at me with her mouth hanging open for a few seconds, but then she blinked rapidly and seemed to come back to life.

"Oh my God." she said firmly. To be honest, it was cute to see her like that.

"May I join you? There aren't any other tables left." I asked, hoping I sounded polite. She nodded slowly and one of her friends smacked her on the arm and smiled:

"Of course!"

So i sat down with my drink and slowly the conversation started up again. It seemed like they didn't want to bother me with lots of questions and I was enjoying that. For some reason the other girls started talking about Nutella, so I turned to the fourth girl.

"May I ask you what your name is?" I asked cautiously. She seemed like a sweet person to me. So did the others, but there was something about this young lady that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

"Oh. Beth. I'm Beth." she blushed.

"Well nice to meet you Beth." I grinned. I couldn't forget the joke she had told before, she had told it really well.

"Do you have any other jokes to tell?" I wondered, raising an eyebrow. She smirked.

"Ya know, I would tell you one about chemistry. But I'm sure that I wouldn't get a reaction."

I couldn't help but giggle and she beamed:

"Awww listen to that cute little giggle!"

I snorted and answered:

"I can't help it when you're being punny."

She suppressed a little giggle too. I liked her already. We spent another half hour joking and laughing, occasionally joining in on the other's conversation. I learned that they were called Fawz, Karime and Laura. They were also friendly and nice to talk to, but for some reason I couldn't take my eyes off Beth. There was something about her laugh, about the way her hair fell around her face, just about her, which made her seem like an angel to me.

But soon enough, our cups were all empty and there was no excuse to stay around any longer. My phone had been buzzing with texts from the lads, asking where I was, for the past ten minutes and I really felt that I should rather go.

So with a little smile, I stood up and tucked my chair in. I then proceeded to hug all four girls, trying not to linger whilst hugging Beth, and failing. With that, I chucked my cup into a nearby bin and left the café. I looked back once more and saw her again, smiling at me. Beth. A beautiful name. A beautiful girl. A beautiful personality. Beautiful. But if I could agree with myself that she was a beautiful person, then why did I feel so happy, yet confused?

[Beth's P.O.V.]

I smiled at him again as he left the building, looking back a last time. Then I turned to my friends, feeling as if I could fly. But finally I noticed the smirks.

"What?" I questioned.

"Well," they explained, "Harry just couldn't stop staring at you, could he?"

I blushed. I hadn't even noticed that. They just grinned wider at my reddening cheeks and Karime gave my arm a squeeze, beaming:

"I can't believe it, I'm so happy for you!"

Suddenly I felt sad. The others looked concerned immediately, so I explained dully:

"Well it's not as if I'm ever going to see him again, is it?"

"Aw Beth, don't think that. Remember what you always told us? Never lose hope." reassured Fawz.

"Yeah, positive thinking is the key to everything." added Laura with a wink.

"But other than that...." continued Karime.

"WE JUST MET HARRY STYLES!" yelled Laura excitedly. She was right. We had just met one of our idols, one of One Direction. I mean how much luckier could you get? We jumped around a little until we were tired and then we decided to leave the café to avoid more annoyed looks. People needed their privacy after all, eh?

When we were almost home, Laura fished out her phone.

"More good news, people!" she announced.

"New Berry photos!" Fawz finished for her.

I smiled, I liked that ship name to be honest.

"My Berry heart!" gasped Laura, clutching her chest.

"Berry is real."

They were cute weren't they? But honestly, I shipped Berry too.

When we reached the front door, I lead the girls inside and they excitedly ran up the stairs to look for my room.

"Make youself right at home." I mumbled but they were already gone. Then I heard their voices:

"Yasss I love this!"

"It's so cosy!"

"It's perfect!"

I jogged up the stairs to see them already claiming mattresses and laying their stuff on the floor.

"Hey guys the bed would be for your suitcases." I explained.

They looked up at me as it dawned on them.

"That's really smart thanks love." smiled Karime.

They then deposited their suitcases on the mattressless bed and started unpacking.

"Look at my pyjamas! I have a panda on my butt!" Laura cheered.

Karime rolled her eyes and asked sarcastically:

"I thought you were called clover-butt."

Laura pursed her lips as if she was offended, but then burst out laughing:

"I can't believe I walked around with that sticker on my behind for a whole day at school!"

That girl could be a little weird sometimes. They continued to unpack and check each others clothes out while telling a few jokes and laughing.

"Hey girls." I said.

They looked at me questioningly:

"Yeah?"

"A man attacked me with cheese, milk and yoghurt."

They raised their eyebrows sceptically.

"How dairy."

Then they understood it and burst out laughing. I was proud to say that they were howling on the floor, hardly able to breathe.

"Dairy!" cried Fawz, catching her breath.

"Oh my fucking God, Beth, you have to stop." gasped Karime. Fawz gave her a stern look and she put her hands up apologetically:

"Sorry for swearing."

When the girls had finished unpacking, we went down to enjoy some delicious waffles, not to mention a lot of Nutella. Waffles with Nutella. Nah, Nutella with waffles more like. There were quite a few outbursts of praise to all Nutella and the person who invented it, but other than that the usual banter was flowing.

My dad also came in while we were eating and I was happy that he was back from work. He always left early in the morning and wasn't home very soon either. But being part of the police was time consuming, I guessed.

At nearly one in the morning we decided to go to sleep, my mum muttering about the lateness and Karime moaning that the jet lag was now murdering her. So we got changed quickly, slumped on our mattresses and fell asleep almost immediately. My last thought was:

How great this was. Something great.
