Jasmine by Moonlight

Two young girls on a caravan holiday meet two young lads from Whitley Bay.
One of them is a promising artist who works for his father who owns the rides in the Spanish City Amusement Park. This is a story of love and prejudice between a Multi millionaire Spanish father and the English Art Student. The father does not think that this man is good enough for his daughter, although he is married to a Scottish woman.

Every night Jasmine and Gerry spent the night together until the time came for both Sarah and Jasmine to leave. Ivan said that he would drive up to Stirling next week end and bring Gerry with him.

The girls got back onto the coach. Gerry and Ivan were working so they couldn’t see them off.

The two hour trip back to Stirling was done in virtual silence by the two girls.

They took their cases off the coach when they were dropped off and walked up the street to their houses. Jasmine had asked Sarah not to mention Gerry to her mother or father because if her father found out there would be trouble.

Jasmine let herself into the dethatched house on the hill in Wallace Place.

It was a six bed roomed house which Antony had bought so that Helen Fernandez his wife; could accommodate Helens mother Anne.

Anne Clegg had suffered a stroke two years before and was left paralysed down her left side it meant that she could hardly speak even though Antony had paid for private therapy for her it had made no difference to her condition. The now seventy six year old was suffering from dementia. Antony had employed two carers come in five times a week to give his wife a rest bite.

“Hello Papa said Jasmine as the maid took he cases from her. She leaned over and kissed his forehead.

“Did you have a good holiday?

 “Yes Papa I did.”

“You could have come to Andalusia with me to visit your grandmamma.”

“How is she?

“She is well and sends her love.”

“I will ring her tomorrow papa alright?

“Okay, go wash up and change for dinner.”

“Yes papa, where is mamma and grandmamma?

“They are in the garden; the weather has been nice over the last few days so we thought the fresh air may do them good.”

“I will go and say hello.”

Jasmine walked into the four acre walled garden where her mother was sitting in the Atrium with her mother the doors had been opened wide so that the air could get in.

Hello Mamma; hello Grandmamma.”

“Hello love; have you just got back?

“Yes a few minutes ago.”

“Have you spoken with your father?

“Yes mamma, he’s busy in the drawing room.”

“I have to go wash and change for dinner,”

Jasmine kissed both her mother and her Gran before walking through the atrium then up the stairs to her room.
