Marty took the bag from the overhead locker then made his way to the front exit.

He waited for Pat then walked to the carousel and waited for their case.

He went to reception and asked if they could wire three tickets for Claire, Christopher and his son. He gave the young lady the address and phone number. He paid her the money by cheque. She accepted along with his American Express Card. Then they both headed to the anything to declare room where customs chose at random bags to be checked.

Once through customs they got on a coach which dropped them off at the Santa Eulalia hotel. It was seven o’clock; Marty took a shower and changed into another pair of trousers, put on a clean shirt then a light weight jacket. Pat showered then put on a pair of slacks made famous by Doris day and a white blouse with a yellow cardigan.

They asked reception to call them a cab and headed into the town where they found a restaurant with a tree inside there were seats outside as well as in; they chose a table outside because it was a lovely evening.

Marty ordered a beer and a port and lemon for his wife then proceeded in scanning the menu.

“The Chicken looks nice Marty I think I will have that and a nice salad.”

The waiter came over and asked if were ready to order.

My wife would light the butter flied Chicken with continental vegetables and a side salad.

“And for you sir asked the waiter?

“Do you serve loin of beef?

“Yes Sir, we do.”

Bearing in mind that I am a butcher by trade and know every part of an animal would you care to show me.

“Of course Sir would you care to follow me; Marty got up from his seat and winked at Pat then followed the waiter into the kitchen.

The waiter said something to the chef who brought out several cuts of meat. Marty pointed to the loin and asked how many days old it was.

“The Chef nodded at Marty before answering him in broken English it is twelve day old. “ You know your meat Sir.”

Thank you Chef, I will have my steak cooked medium to well done with a pepper sauce and vegetable medley and roasted potatoes.

“As you wish Sir.”

“Would you ensure my wife’s chicken is tenderised before you cook it Chef?

“It will be done Sir.”

“If this meal is good then we will come again; if not you have lost a very good customer.

“We understand said the waiter.”

The service was first class and they didn’t have to wait long to be served with their meal. As promised it was cooked to perfection and the chef came out to ask if the food was to their satisfaction.
