11. Chapter 11- Saturday Night

Hey guys I just wanted to say before the chapter, I'm so thankful for all of the support I'm getting, please tell me if the story line is getting to boring or right on track. Thanks.

"Hey, you ready?" Jasmin messages me from Sydney's phone, they were going to pick me up like they did this morning. I press my lips against the tissue to smooth my lipstick out. I text her back and she tells me that their waiting outside. I look down at my self and I'm wearing a short leather skirt, a red and black checkered, collared vest and black stilettos. In the mirror, I don't see the nerdy, goody two shoes Cathy, I see a confident, popular girl. I apply one more coat of mascara then pick up my bag to leave.

As I tiptoe down the stairs to not wake my mum, sleeping on the sofa, tired of sorting out the bills dad normally did.

"Cathy. Where are you going?!" She says sleepily. I roll my eyes, which I don't normally do, but it felt right in the moment.

"Just going out to Sarah's party." I throw my arms around thinking that it's going to help me to convince her.

"I thought you didn't like Sarah." She runs her eyes and sorts out her pj bottoms.

"It's not like I'm five, I'll just avoid her. I'm going then!"

"Ok, I want you back sober! I know what that Sarah's like." My mum only says that because she was shopping and down the ice-cream aisle she saw Sarah taking her top of in front of a boy for his twenty pound note.

"Okay mother!" I call her 'mother' when I'm in a rush or I just want to go. I'm in both of them moods right now. It's going to be my only party where we're not going to be playing pin the pin on the donkey or pass the parcel.

"Hey, get in c'mon we're going to be late!" Sydney flicks the door open again, her blonde hair is straightened and she's wearing a tight red dress she bought earlier. I get in and before I can even do my seat belt up, she drives off. I spy my mum peeking her head out from the curtains.

We park up and when Sydney leans into me to get her bag from under my seat, she whispers to me,

"Strut your stuff. Show Luke what you got." I laugh silently to myself. I ild and nod to her when she nods at me to make sure I heard her. I open the door and stick my leg out glamorously like the pop stars do it in the movies. Then just sort of lean out, to much of watching the Oscars and the Grammys for me I think.

I can hear the music already, my heart beats with the bass and I can feel my feet walking in time with the beat. I flip my curled hair round, but not too crazily.

"I'm gonna go get you a drink." Jasmin whispers as we enter the door,

"Non-alcoholic." I make sure, I catch her arm just as she was going to walk away.

"Yeah sure babes." Although I've never really understood why popular girls call eachogher babes but I go along with it anyway.

I spot Luke shouting over the music in his British accent, trying to get Martin to hear him. He looks around once he's done talking, and looks past me then does a double take. He fast walks over to me, pushing everyone out the way. Smiling at him, he wraps his arms around me.

"Oh my god. We're going to have to get out of here otherwise my girlfriend might see me." The volume of the music turns down so I can hear him now. I rest my head against his chest knowing it was a joke. Jasmin comes over with my cola and I thank her. She goes off and jumps on some guy.

"So you like the party?" I ask Luke, smiling through my teeth, I love being with him. It's like my whole world has never been any different. Like it's always meant to be me and him. And at last we've finally found eachother.

"It's perfect now that your here." I take a sip of my cola, it takes better, it's probably just because I'm at a party and u swear, everything is better at a party.

A couple of drinks later, somehow I'm stumbling over my feet. Luke seems fine, he's trying to hold me up. I get back to the living room and I start holding Luke close like I'm not ever letting go.

"Babe, we should be getting home." He speaks, I feel confused, we've only been here for a little while, he already wants to leave.

"Why?" My voice sounds slurred. I breathe in deeply, like it was difficult to breathe at first but then I gained control.

"Your drunk as hell." I feel my stomach rumble,

"What? Sydney has been getting me drinks all night. She wouldn't do that." I smirk, because I don't care, Luke drags me away from the crowd.

"C'mon, we're going to ask Sydney."

We confronted Sydney, not that I actually cared what she said, until I realised that I wasn't aloud to go home drunk, my mum would ground me until I'm dead!

"Of course, did you seriously think we wanted to be friends with you?!" Sydney laughed to Jasmin. That's it, my perfect night over.
