Cathy Livingstone lives in the glamorous California where the sand is golden and everyone is popular. All except her, her historian parents believe that she is popular, due to her 'fake story's'. When the new boy comes to LakeBridge High, she takes an instant disliking to him, but can he change her mind before the girls go crazy for his British accent?

1. Chapter 1- Maths

I sigh as another textbook gets chucked at my head, I pick it up off the floor and put it on the desk beside me, where the other textbooks I had collected were. Our teacher Miss Colington was flirting in the hall way with the new PE teacher from France. I looked back up at the smart board figuring out the last sum. I noticed no one else doing the math equations, why would they not want to do math.

"Hey Cathy! What are you doing you nerd?!" The most popular boy in school, Martin McGrath, shouts in my face, almost spitting at me. I flinch and look away, he laughs and swipes my books off the desk just in time. The head teacher stumbles in wearing a black cast on his leg, from where he had been ran over by his third ex wife.

"Settle down! We have an assembly in twenty minutes!" He announces, I sigh loudly while everyone else cheers. Couldn't we miss half an hour of PE, we have to run five laps of our track and I don't think I can do it without passing out halfway. But of course Sydney Skinner could do it, the cheerleading captain, volleyball captain, soon to be prom queen and proud owner of Martin McGrath. They had been going out for two weeks now, after their seventh break up, but this time 'they want to make it work' but it's only a matter of time until Sydney finds a new boy and gets rid of Martin. It didn't matter to him anyway, he always had back up, every girl in the year wouldn't pass up the chance to go out with him. I think some boys would go out with him. But I would rather date a broomstick than him. But I can't even get a broomstick to like me let alone Martin.

We all file into the assembly hall, I sit right at the back, away from all the spitballs and noogies. I pick up the book in my bag, Little Women. My all time favourite book and the best Classic in my opinion, if I could chose one.

"Students! I would like to remind you about the litter pick ups after school. The environmental club needs you!" Miss Jester yells, she runs the environmental club. Next week they are having a boot sale to raise money to buy flowers to make the schools environment better. But my bet is that Martin will trash them before they even get here. Miss Jester sits back in her chair when the head teacher, Mr Weeks, travels up the short flight of stairs to the stage, behind him is a boy. With a Nike backpack over one shoulder. From the front of the room came wolf whistles, but I sat there still enjoying my book.

"Mr Luke Abby, will be joining us this year. Please treat him with the respect that we normally have. Give him that LakeBridge High spirit!" He hands the microphone over to 'Luke' and the boy greets us with a strange British accent which all the girls swoon over. I just roll my eyes and try to ignore all of the flirtatious winks girls are giving him. He's just going to be another popular boy that will tease and bully me, making my life miserable.
