Alan and John came around the table and hugged their mother. Liz fought back the tears as she put her arms around her boys.

Billy washed the bowls and cutlery placing them on the draining board before telling Alan and John to get them selves ready for school.

Liz got her self ready so they could all go out at the same time as she didn’t want to be walking out alone in case someone stopped her in the street because they knew that Albert had left them. Once at work she kept busy until it was time to leave.

She hurried along to the solicitors and waited to see Mr Tony Garrity.

She had an hour with Mr Garrity who explained what she would be entitled to and the help she could get from the social security.

She agreed to allow Mr Garrity to represent her. Lizzy Phelps filed for divorce on the grounds of adultery.

Mr Garrity said that the process could take up to two years if Mr Phelps challenged the courts.

Liz left the solicitors knowing that she would have a fight on her hands.
