8. Kilo Chapter 8

Jack almost stumbled as he walked back wards towards his own room then gently closed the door.
Nelly said that she could adapt or alter the dresses anyway she wanted with a needle some thread, and a pair of sharp scissors.
“We can go shopping tomorrow for some baby clothes, bottles, and such.”
“You with need nappies, bibs too.”
“Oh Nelly, how will I ever repay you.”
“I can cook and keep house for you until it is my time.”
“How far are you on Martha?
“I’m almost two months.”
“Jack has left out the tin bath so I will go and fill it for you.”
Nelly brought towels, soap, and a flannel.”
Right I’m off to my bed now, please switch off the light before you come to bed.”
“Goodnight Martha my dear.”
“Goodnight Nelly.”

Martha waited until the bedroom door was closed before undressing and slipping into the tub.
After bathing she put on the night shirt that Nelly had left out for her. She then switched off the lights and slipped under the clean sheets. She was tired and it wasn’t long before she was fast asleep.
