41. Kilo Chapter 41

Jack and Kate visited the Winter Gardens in Blackpool then they took on a ride on the open topped tram as it went around the promenade. They ate fish and chips out of newspaper. Then they walked slowly back to the hotel again.
Jack bought a news paper and sat on the bed reading through it he called out to Katie who was in the bathroom having a shower.
“George Formby is on at the cinema tonight do you want to go.”
“What?
George got up and tried the door that was unlocked he went in and saw his wife behind the slightly opaque shower curtain. He quickly undressed and got into the shower with her.
Jack Reamer! You naughty boy come here.
They embraced then Jack lifted Katie until she had her legs around him.

After their bout of passion Jack took Kate to the cinema to see “On the Beat” with George Formby playing a policeman with comic antics.
They were going back home tomorrow as Jack couldn’t afford to take too much time off from work. He needed the money to support his new wife, plus secretly he missed the job as well it was what had made him the man he was. Now twenty five he hoped one day to be running the whole pit. George Shotton liked him, he had no family of his own so Jack was like the son he never had.
Kate went down stairs so Jack thought to open the envelope that Keith had given him.
Inside was five hundred pounds. Jack was totally shocked he would invest the money in the colliery that way he would see a better return on his money.
He folded up the envelope and placed it into his case.

They lay in bed awake talking though the night. Katie said that she would like one of those showers like the one in the bathroom and an inside toilet.
Jack said that there was plenty of room in the yard to build an extension where they could make the bedroom bigger and then build a bathroom and toilet.
“Nothing seems like a problem to you Jack.”
“No good worrying love, what will be, will be? We will get what we want eventually.
“I love you Jack Reamer.”
“I love you too.”
They brought there cases down in the morning, Jack paid Marion after breakfast and left a good tip. “I promise that every year on our wedding anniversary we will come here.”
It was nice having you both stay in my house. Safe journey home now.
