The Light

A story of depression gone right.

5. Proposal Complete

I kneel down before Hazel, "Hazel Janis Monroe," I start, "We have known each other since we were little... We've always liked each other, we even pretended to be married when we were little..." I say smiling... "I've watched you grow up with me, you're beautiful Hazel. You're my world. When I stopped talking to you I was depressed. I forgot who I was... You taught me how to love again." I say looking up at her, as she starts to tear up, smiling. "I want you to be my bride..." I say taking the velvet box out of my back pocket, and opening it to reveal the diamond engagement ring. "Will you make me the happiest man ever and say yes?" I ask smiling.

"YES!" She cried, I slipped the ring on her finger and stood up. The church clapped and I pulled Hazel into my arms. My bride to be. I'm gonna have a family. I found the light at the end of the dark tunnel.
