1. The stupidity of stereotyping

I assumed the boy was a criminal,
Of course I did: he was black.

I assumed the girl was an attention-seeker,
Of course I did: her hair was bright blue.

I assumed the woman was anorexic,
Of course I did: she was skinny.

I assumed the boy was heartless,
Of course I did: he was ginger.

I assumed the man was a Nazi,
Of course I did: he was German.

I assumed the woman was ugly,
Of course I did: she was single.

I assumed the man had AIDS,
Of course I did: he was gay.

I assumed the girl was a loner,
Of course I did: she got straight As.

I assumed the man was racist,
Of course I did: he was white.

I assumed her hair was fake,
Of course I did: she was black.

I assumed the girl was a geek,
Of course I did: she wore glasses.

I assumed the boy liked curry,
Of course I did: he was Asian.

I assumed he was a terrorist,
Of course I did: he was Muslim.

I assumed she was dumb,
Of course I did: she was blonde.

I assumed he was a coward,
Of course I did: he was crying.

They knew I was small-minded,
But it was with intelligence that they decided:
Because only the ignorant stereotype.
