"Sad stuff makes beautiful poetry, but it's not so pretty to live with." [-Merecat]

(I recommend anything beyond 'Tumbling Ash' for the rest is a mess of nonsense words that hold no character, no story and absently fill the page)

49. Serene Darkness

(I apologise about the lack of updates; I've been at my Dad's recently).

I always find the dark strangely comforting and far

calmer than the day.

Just look at the sky and observe, in the day,

all the glaring messes of colours that sweep against the clouds

and blend into the bushes.

It's wonderful,

but when you just gaze upon that infinitive stretch of black in the

you find so much more beauty.

The honey moon dips low and you can see it's silver curves

like the sky is the fabric of a skin-tight dress

and the stars are flashing cameras at the side of a red carpet.

Creatures become disguised

and the only way they can be picked out against the darkness,

is through the sharp noises that dance on the ghostly wind.

Everything simply fades away,

blends into the black and becomes one dark

All that can really be seen

is the gentle glow of amber street lights

as golden puddles spill softly onto the grey pavements.
